Black Cat (TV)
A decent series to watch, if you don't set your plot hopes too high. Some excellent combat scenes, and enjoyable characters make it an easy watch, but I felt there just too many stories they chose to stuff into 23 episodes, so there were times I thought the pacing suffered for the sake of moving along to the next story. I'm not nocking this series, I just felt they may have pushed things a little, and that it could have benefited from a few more episodes that were on a smaller scale than the sweeping, world changing stories they continued to ride... I'll change this if the end seems to tie it up well, but I stand firm on most of it.

Bokura ga Ita
A story of teen love-angst, this series was well done, and frankly a little too real for me... the ending was perfectly believable (though disappointing), but was a little vague. It wasn't unil I checked the torrent download I had to run to get the last episode, that I found that it had come with scanslations of the manga, and the final episode's pages finally defined what was left vague in the series. If you don't mind the odd art style, and don't mind having your feelings caught up in an intensely emotional series (if like me, you do get caught up), give this one a try, but don't think you know how it will end without getting spoilers.

Ghost Hunt
Brilliant pacing, excellent art, and imaginative storylines kept this series fresh and exciting for me, and the only regret I had about it was that it ended... here's hoping for a season 2!!

Jigoku Shoujo
I love the imagery in this series and how many ways they found to torment those who had tormented others. Emma Ai (the Hell Girl herself) was both haunting in the apparent helplessness of her role in the execution of vengeance, and terrifying in the mercilessness with which she carried it out.

Jigoku Shoujo Futakomori
I felt this to be a creditable continuation of the first series, with a few unanswered questions... and an ending that rather left me ... hmmm... hoping for another series to answer those questions, and to have the ending to not be quite so conclusive as this series had... >Just say no to spoilers!!<

Kurau Phantom Memory
The art in this series is stunning. The characters are easy to feel close to, the story is powerful, the villians (all save one) are human, and believe themselves to be in the right, even when perfoming actions that should give them pause. The events in the series can be frustrating, but that makes them more believable to me. The ending, while predictable, was well executed. Watch the first 5 episodes. You'll know if you want to see the rest.
