They kinda have the same feel. The sequences are really fast. Both deal with "wrong" topics (such as dictatorship, death, fighting), but in a funny and careless way. The animation is great and singular. Both have a very particular, colourful, and enjoyable art. Lots of gags during each scene. Both have fanservice and sexy gags. Both are quite messed up, though Kill La Kill seems to have a plot to begin with. Overall strange but somewhat epic. If you enjoyed P&S, you'll love Kill La Kill.

Same feel, both have extreme non-sense action scenes, dirty humor and stylized art. The Protagonist are similar, Retro reminds Panty and Pandy reminds Stocking.

Both shows have a whole lot of wtf going on. They both have a high random factor and deal with aliens, angels, spoofs of other shows and a whole lot more.
report Recommended by makimagic
Both rely heavily on sexual humor.
report Recommended by droidperson
Both are comedic parodies with a similar cast of character: incompetent duo, an eccentric leader, and a pet for the duo to terrorize. Though when it comes to humor, Exel Saga is more fast-paced and spontaneous while Panty & Stocking utilizes more crude and gross-out humor.
report Recommended by Ultima_Oblivion
Shocked ?! Well, maybe because both seems to show a middle finger to whole recent anime industry trends ,and instead they carve their own unspecified niche where total lack of sense is your everyday plot device. Nevertheless, somehow both make you crave for more.

similar art/animation styles. both have a random, weird type of humor.
report Recommended by sleepingpowder
Over the top crazy fun. Fitting description to both Pop Team Epic and Panty & Stocking. They also share bright, colorful artstyles, pop culture references and rapid-fire gags. If you liked one, I can't see you disliking the other.

Both made by Gainax. Similar animation style. Great soundtrack. Lots of ecchi. Female heroine.

Kei and Yuri call themselves the "Lovely Angels", but everybody else calls them the "Dirty Pair". Why? Because there's lots of collateral damage coming with each dispatch. Both shows feature two main characters constantly teasing each other about their looks and men, a desperate boss and awkward villains. If you like PSG not for it's animation or the uncouth jokes, the Dirty Pair is what you're really looking for.

One word: Gainax... but that's not enough. These two Animes are full of crazy-over-the-top action, both also have crazy adult humour If you even remotely enjoyed one of these, you'll surely enjoy the other.

Both are parodies full of gross and dirty jokes. Also, both have 2 stories per episode and a lot of nonsense that somehow works in the plot's favor.

honestly while watching osomatsu I couldn't stop thinking about the similarities between the two. both have: -cartoonish style -family-friendly look, while having some really dirty kind of humor -same kind of humor in general tbh -each episode has some different stories -both jump between AUs and animation style randomly

Both are random, perverted, and funny :D

If you pay attention to it, Puni Puni Poemi was already making the jokes you watch on P&S w/ Garterbelt, some years ago.

Visually similar. Paid no visual regard to moe style as seen on most Japanese-oriented anime. To the point that both can be considered Japanese attempts to steals market share whatsoever from cartoon network and the like. If you are an open-minded liberal generous art and media consumer then ignore both sentences. I happen to point out this topic because I start watching anime as a better alternative of western cartoon.

Both series's are supernatural madness; Azazel-san featuring quirky demons and troubled individuals, whilst Panty and Stocking features missbehaving angels and quirky 'ghosts' (spirits born of negitive energy). Demons and Angels are simply on the other end of the same coin. You'll realise that both series's feature characters that appear to be out to do good, yet things aren't always so straight forward, as they're thrown into an obscure, troublesome scenario, as both serise's have the potential to go in whatever direction they feel like, nothing is out of ordinary. Finally, both are equally crude with the endless ability to offend; viewer discretion is advised, as both series's, as  read more

While these shows have many key differences between each other, they are fundamentally similar for the most part. What strikes me as the foremost similarity is the bizarre way that these anime present their humorous moments. There is a lack of finesse in the way that the jokes are presented, but they more than make up for it with the sheer impact of their wacky situations that ultimately lead to a really good time towards the target audience. What's more is that the main characters are very memorable for their peculiar antics. If you enjoyed this show, then Panty & Stocking will very much be  read more

An Anime with Fallen Angel' as protagonists where we can find that they didn't act like truly Angels. The Principal character refuse keep living in the heaven and plans stay in the Earth doing some human "inmoral stuff" for som people.

Well, if you look at the two, they are the same in a single quality, which would be the creativity of making a simple story where you can make it serious but add a touch of comedy to transform it in a parody, it has interesting characters and an animation that is different and very colorful, however much it has already started to be released, I suggest you give it a chance to enjoy something underground that this season has to offer

Both anime try to imitate the western style of cartoons and content. While Panty and Stockings does it satirically, it is unsure what the goals of Abunai Sisters were.
report Recommended by abystoma2
Similar crude jokes, edgy characters and no sh*ts given attitude to story telling. Both have a similar "adult swim" vibe. Idaten-tachi leans more into some dark themes and has a distinct shounen-esque setup and uses that to explore the themes whereas Panty & stocking has a bigger emphasis on humour.
report Recommended by Jordanious77
Both are extremely crude in it's humour and in it's characters.
report Recommended by ohtori
Both anime uses slapstick comedy with cursing as a comedy device. While Binbougami Ga!? is bit more "Japanese" then Panty and Stocking both give a very similar vibe, and the main characters are alike in many ways.

PSG has a bit crazy humor, as a Hen Zemi.
report Recommended by zea1
They are both about a supernatural group. In Panty and Stocking case, they kill ghosts and in DxD they kill fallen angels. They is comedy, ecchi and really likable characters.

If you like vulgar, crude, even gross comedy then if you like one show you will probably like the other. Neither are for the faint hatred. You need to be able to enjoy "in your face" perverted jokes and even jokes related to body excretions to be able to enjoy either of them.

Gag comedy in ridiculous levels. Slightly violent except Cuticle Tantei Inaba has less dirty jokes.
report Recommended by xxxholic_wing
Silly sexy jokes.
report Recommended by Wingerie
Both have things turning into weapons. In Soul Eater, it's people, and in Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt, it's clothes. And both are ecchi comedies.
report Recommended by HatchetGirl
Both titles have a very similliar plot and probably differ only in setting. Basicly - Panty & Stocking is Dirty Pair Flash with less of a clear storyline set in 21st century with various evil powers instead of miscelaneous criminals. I wonder how Gainax got off with that. Still, somehow PSG is more entertaining and fun to watch.

If you've watched either of these series and enjoyed them, then you're probably someone who enjoys zany and odd humor, and prefer something... unusual. These series do not share any similarities with their stories - but the humor and tone are extremely similar. Bizzare scenarios, sexual references and innuendos, swearing, saying "What the fuck?!" aloud during your viewings... Sound familiar? Sound fun? Then try Plastic Neesan.

These shows don't have much in common, other than the fact they're both comedies. Either way I recommend this if you want to laugh, or have an awesome time.

To Be Hero and Panty and Stocking both have crude anount of humor, including the same sexual and bathroom jokes. They are both action shows as well, with hilarious villains and slightly unlikable protagonists.
report Recommended by Third-Impact
If you liked the humor and sexual content of DEVILMAN Crybaby, you might like this show. Deals with demons, angels, and sex, but this is a comedy show with a lighter-toned, less mature narrative.

The protagonists hunt (PSG are ghosts, ZL are zombies) to pay a debt.
report Recommended by OtakuNote87
Both have as protagonists strong girls with blades and big guns, chasing and fighting monsters. They're completely different format ( TV series VS Music video) but the girls even share a disrespect towards men and boys in general: Panty and Stocking and the 2NE1 give us the appearance of strong female leads, totally independent from male heroes.
report Recommended by Jajja
Both are hilarious, perverted magical girl parodies. However, Famiresu Senshi Purin (Sex Warrior Pudding) is more explicit and uses a more standard anime art style.
report Recommended by ggoonnee
This series has a similar art style and quirky nature to Chou Shounen Tanteidan Neo. Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt is very mature though, so if you're looking for something less adult like this show then you may be disappointed.

Mahou Shoujo animes that parody the Magical Girl genre in some way or another, however the comedy of each anime vary greatly and may not be for all. Machikado Mazoku includes demons with magical girls, instead it's mostly uneventful and it's closer to the traditional CGDCT genre, recommended for all ages. Panty & Stockings is much more closer to the traditional mahou shoujo genre, but the girls are pretty hedonistic and can have very colourful language and scenes, also has experimental animation there.

How are these anime similar? Both anime have very similar comedy, both being incredibly raunchy. Seitokai focuses more on comedy having to deal with sex and the like, while Panty and Stocking cover a wider area with it's humor. Both don't really focus on the plot and are more about comedy than a story. I thought both anime were funny when I watched them and believe that most people would find them funny as well. How are they different? Panty and Stocking is focused more on a single subject longer than many of the scenes in Seitokai, meaning the Seitokai was a 4 panel manga so the jokes  read more

- main girls are similar in their relationships and in some ways that they act - "magic" could apply to both -fighting creatures - boy who simps for one of the girls panty and stocking is more comedy while burn the witch doesn't follow that but they have similar plot base and dynamics.

Both have adult themes, brief references to Western shows and movies, and are generally hilarious.

Both series are really bizarre, crazy, surrealist and have a lot of comedy and action. They both are heavy influenced by western media, have an unique art-style and a great OST. And they both constantly make references to pop culture. While Panty & Stocking is just pure comedy, JoJo's has a way more serious plot. But besides that I think they both have many things in common. So if you enjoyed one of this series I'm sure you'll enjoy the other.

Both animes are like a +18 parody version of the traditional magical girls shows.

It might just be me, but I felt like Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt is a more comedic Dorohedoro. Both take place in a city where anything will and can happen. Several of the characters act similarity as well. However, the main difference is the tone and humor. Dorohedoro’s humor is more dark, while Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt‘s humor is vulgar, and Dorohedoro is darker with gore and has more serious moments, while Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt is mostly just a comedic anime. Plus, the storylines are very different…fans of one might want to check out the other.

While vastly different in tone and style, Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt and Kekkai Sensen have a similar setup — crazy things happening in a crazy town. Both have some really impressive animation and music as well, and I guess Zapp and Panty are similar? However, the vibe between the two is similar enough to warren a recommendation. Be warned that Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt is a LOT more vulgar than Kekkai Sensen.

(As Nihon Animator Mihonichi is collection of unrelated stories, this recommendation is only for Me!Me!Me! part.) Both have sexual theme and unexpected plot twist. Also, the girl from Me!Me!Me! will somehow remind you of Stockings from Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt.

Both have hyper-feminine protagonists & a cartoony-western style!

While they don’t look that similar, Needless and Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt have some similarities. Both have that Adult Swim feeling to them, and have a similar blend of comedy and fanservice. The characters are similar as well, with Panty being similar to Eve and Garterbelt somewhat to Adam Blade. The art styles are similar as well. But both aren’t without their differences. Needless has more of a plot and has a lot more action, while Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt is more of a comedy. Both have a similar audience in mind, however, hence the recommendation. Check them both out!

Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt and Blood Lad have some things in common. First of all, both anime have parody elements in them, with Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt parodying Western media and Blood Lad parodying several manga and anime series. Both anime also have a similar set of main protagonists as well. The art styles are similar to an extent as well. I really like both, but I prefer Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt. However, Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt is much more crude and vulgar than the relatively tame Blood Lad, so keep that in mind.

Kanta and Panty/Stocking share a lot of the same personality traits as in they're both foul mouthed, cruel, irresponsible, and selfish which I think makes their comedy similar. Also, Kanta is about as much a "hero" as Panty/Stocking are "angels". ;)

Both series are about female protagonists who desire to live however they could, both have conflicts with creatures that could possibly be the result of that desire. Also, the Episode Director, Storyboard, Animation Director of BRS is the director of PSG.

Both animes are some how inspired by American cartoon > "Powerpuff Girls". "Demashitaa! Powerpuff Girls Z" is a magic girls version of that cartoon with the same characters and similar plot, when "Panty & Stocking" is more mature and sexual version with different characters and story but with similar design.

Both series have vulgar humor that is not too over the edge. And they also have similar artwork styles, except with P&S remiding me of the power puff girls. The main characters are also a bit similar with their attitude towards situations. Both are great watches.

Super-powered semi-nude girls (angels in psg) fighting. Both have a lot of fan-service, low brain in story-plot and tons of mediocre comic-gags. With both of them being fresh series, it remains to be seen if they stay on to be decent ecchi, "watch once - then amnesia - rating 7" types or improve though samurai girls has better art animation.

I feel like the comedy style in both these anime are extremely similar, what I called before, "offensive-comedy". Both anime are suited towards more.. elder audiences IMO 17+ I'd say. If you enjoyed one of these, I'm sure you'd enjoy the other. I know I did.

Both series are about a pair of supernatural siblings who fight demons. Both fight as a duo wielding swords and guns to defeat demons.

At first glance, there might not be much similarities but in fact, these two have quite a lot of in common: Both series contain ecchi as well as absurd comedy that is sometimes over exaggerated Both series contains strange female characters that are out of the ordinary Both have parodies with even one episode in Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt involving the theme of zombies Both series will likely evoke the feeling of "wtf did I just watch?" and that should be quite common

You want shows that don't hold back in low brow vulgar humor? Look no further than these two! Prison School and Panty & Stocking both have no qualms about getting down and dirty.... LITERALLY! However rather than using vulgar humor for shock, both of these shows embrace their style of humor and go above and beoynd with how obscene they can get. Not your average magical girl series -- not by a long shot! Both series take the framework of the traditional magical girl series and turn the tropes and trappings of the genre on their heads. Panty & Stocking goes for vulgarity and sexuality while generally keeping a light tone, while Madoka keeps the frills and cuteness but goes darker than you'd think the genre would allow. Both work well as deconstructions of the magical girl genre, while taking it in completely different directions.

If the titles of the two series aren't a dead giveaway regarding why fans of Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt should pick up the other series how about the fact the other series just so happens to parody Sailor Moon. It's definitely the type of series which would appeal to the fans of Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt, not to mention the piece isn't that long.

Both have a amazing amount of Parody to their comedy. Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt might be a bit more mature in their style, but both the Japanese and English translations do a very great job in keeping the comedy going to where you can understand it. They are also based on the two mini episodes per normal Episode making it easy to just watch part of the show and come back later for the next part.

You may think of it as a bit of a stretch, but I found a lot of likeable similar elements between the two. While PSG is obviously made for an adult crowd with lots of obvious adult humor and jokes, with watching Milky Holmes it's quite obvious that it's a gag anime very much aimed at an adult crowd, and not in the lolicon way. Panty and Stocking is a parody of the magical girl genre. Instead of naive princesses which transform with sparkles and lace, Panty and Stocking are two fallen angels whose transformation sequence is literally a strip tease. The writing is very crass, full of cussing and discussions about sex, and the artwork is bold and stylized. Panty and Stocking's parody of Magical Girl genre is similar to FLCL's parodying of the mech genre, and not suprisingly PS&G and FLCL come out of the same studio.
