Interest Stacks![]() ![]() "Elitist" has been a very generic and broad term to generalise many types of not-so-mainstream or "deep" anime, so this list is very diverse and it's criteria are not always clear cut and objective. Nonetheless I try to provide a proper explanation for why each entry is included. Generally speaking these are shows that fit one OR more of these adjectives: Experimental, Avant-Garde, Psychological, Philosophical, Obscure, Classic, Critically Acclaimed, Artsy, Old, etc... ![]() ![]() List of anime for "elitist". These anime have been considered as "deep" animations by various critics and analysts. ![]() ![]() Art house, in relation to cinema, is a genre of films that are intended to be serious artistic works rather than merely popular entertainment but the descriptor can also be applied to anime. Furthermore, avant-garde refers to innovative, experimental, radical or unorthodox concepts and techniques. This can of course also be used in reference to anime and manga. ![]() ![]() 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐈𝐈: ![]() ![]() This is the kind of stuff you'll want to show to your older relatives or a friend / significant other who isn't into anime in particular but is open to new experiences. Not necessarily to hook them on anime but simply to share a good time together. ![]() ![]() To those who are looking for something more than the typical shonen garbage, here are some anime for you to watch. One anime is given for each franchise. ![]() ![]() These pieces have a harmony, uniqueness or just an x-factor to their overall aesthetic presence, to include music/sound design. ![]() ![]() This list contains all movies that aren't related with any anime series. (Pre 2014) ![]() ![]() Romance standalone movies that have clean and crisp animation. While some series do have other related entries, it’s possible to watch this without any prior knowledge which is why I included them in this stack. I hope you enjoy! ![]() ![]() mindfuck but cool, u might get depression though ![]() ![]() This is a list of non-Ghibli standalone movies - meaning they are not associated with a TV series ![]() ![]() Surreal anime that have an upbeat tone! ![]() ![]() Facing reality, rejecting the fantasy, and not running away from our issues. Embrace life! ![]() ![]() about Avant Garde genre, ![]() ![]() The criteria here is simple: Anime released in any year, with under 160,000 MAL Members, and which I've rated a 7 or higher. ![]() ![]() Titles featured in this stack showcase a wide variety of stylizations, ranging from simplistic character designs to surrealistic masterpieces, making it stand out among others in its uniqueness and artistic diversity. This diverse range of expressive and imaginative art styles adds an extra layer of intrigue and visual appeal, enriching the viewing experience and may leave a lasting impression on the viewer. ![]() ![]() These are anime Iv seen that I feel have an undercurrent of sadness to them. Hopefully you find something new! |
