Recommendations

Mukougaoka Chisato is as energetic as Ai to Shi, but due to the longer duration it can take the viewer more of an emotional journey. Mukougaoka Chisato animation constantly bursts in a series of violent and harsh movements being a lot similar to Ai to Shi's constant and intense animation. The similarities in character design and animation make the influence of Uekusa Wataru, director for both shorts, immediately recognizable, with his signature erratic and fluid character animation.

Mukougaoka Chisato is about handling reality and facing trauma, Yasashii March is about coming of age and rebirth. Both follow girls and in their lives and struggles that they have to deal with, using vast amounts of visual metaphors to communicate, creating an engrossing atmosphere. The aesthetic similarities between the two are already enough to deserve the recommendation.
