As a fan of Shana I was wanting a season 3 instead of another OVA and watched this with a lot of anger towards the makers. The opening played and I forgave the boys at the top without second thought.
This was made to give us Shana fans a nibble before we get thirds not to piss us off. It gives us alot of the humor that this story mold of body-swapping use (Yuji reaching towards his chest when he is in shana's body was an inevitable moment the second they swapped bodies) and I think the "shana" feel behind it adds new life

I will be reviewing all seasons of Shakugan no Shana and the ova series called Shakugan no Shana S
Shakugan no Shana (Burning-Eyed Shana) also known simply as Shana are a Japanese light novel series written by Yashichiro Takahashi with illustrations by Noizi Ito. ASCII Media Works published 26 novels from November 2002 too November 2012 under there Dengeki Bunko imprint. In fall of 2005 Shakguan No Shana received an anime adaptation and it spawning 3 seasons that aired in different years, 1 movie and a OVA called Shakugan no Shana S. It was produced by J.C.Staff and directed by Takashi Watanabe whom are also ... Nov 29, 2009
well, jusging from the 1st OVA, these 4 episodes are supposed to be a small joining point from 2 to 3
E.G: at the last part of the 1st OVA alastor revealed that the scope could only be used when there are no 'walls' between the two people in other words, shana and yuji like each other and e.t.c in layman terms, these 4 OVAs are fillers. fillers dont move the story much, but fillers tend to either set a scene so they can use it in future for the story, or they are used to explain/ re-explain some things. overall the 1st episode was good, though alittle ahort for ... This is my first review, so please forgive me if it is a little sloppy (there are some minor spoilers).
Summary: The 1st and 2nd episodes of the OVA are mildly interesting filler that you could skip without missing much. The 3rd and 4th episodes, on the other hand, are VERY powerful. They give some back story to Shana right before she meets Yuuji and serves as a great and emotional reminder about what it means to become a torch and disappear. These 2 episodes are mostly emotional and character driven and have little to no action. I highly suggest watching it! More Detail: I found these to ... Jan 22, 2020
Now this is what I was expecting in the Shakugan no Shana series, some peaceful and relaxing filler episodes to give breaks from the heavy contents. I feel like there are too much going on in the series, when a problem is solved another problem is presented again and it makes me feel tired.
This OVA is like a fresh air, it gives me an entirely different feeling of the show. I have never liked OVAs, I only see them as another episode of an anime and did not feel that it is more special than other episodes either however, this is OVA is different, ... Feb 23, 2019
This a a four episode OVA which takes place between Seasons 2 and 3. On the whole, it is quite a respectable OVA, so I hope you'll read what I have to say about it.
Story 8/10 The first two episodes were lighthearted and primarily comedy. At the end of both, they had a heartwarming moment revolving around love, the common theme of the series. Both of these episodes are executed well and are exactly how a lighthearted, comedic special should be. Have cute moments, make you laugh a few times, and warm your heart at the end with it's conclusion. The final two episodes were about ... Apr 12, 2019
Probably the best of all Shana franchise. I wish they had made a romcom SoL for Shana instead of the mess that comes in Final.
Episodes 1 and 2 had me smiling and happy and did not prepare me at all for the wreck that Final is. Episodes 3 and 4 were ground so much better and had me invested. Hell, it made me miss my own mom. That's how in my bag I got. Anyways, If you've slogged through seasons 1 and 2 to S, you'll probably watch the Final. Its not worth it, but its my opinion. Shana S is the best of ... |
