The similarity between these two series exist not only in genres (comedy, romance, and parody), but also in execution.

The main character's are cursed by a cat statue. They must find a way to lift the curse and return to their normal lives.

Both focus on cats, beyond the typical harem where the main character is involved.

main character allergic to cats ah ah ahceww

Has a similar feel to it. The harem theme is the same. Also the main character both have unusual disease(?) The guy is allergic to cats like how jirou is allergic to girls(?). They both have love/comedy too.

both involve a regular guy getting pulled into a cat world the main guy also has a childhood friend that likes them they both have a decent amount of comedy in it and there both harems so they have those generic episodes like the pool/beach one and the onsen/hot-tub one.

Where do I even begin on the similarities between these two. Both plots have the main character getting into trouble with cats and have the threat of being turned into a cat also! Both could easily take place in the same universe. The cats in Nyan Koi could easily be cats you see in The Cat Returns (attitude and personality wise). If you enjoyed one of these animes go check the other out if you haven't already!

Junpei and Ryuuji have a smiler characteristic, they both look delinquent, and they both find it hard to confess their love to the girl they like, in the way they find a way to be closer to the girl, in toradora it was taiga, while in Nyan Koi it was the cats, there seem to be more similarities between other characters too.

Well, both animes have this main character who likes this one girl he originally likes and is constantly trying to win her over. Also both are harems and school life, and there are many girls who chase after the main character, who is clueless to this fact.

Some female characters from Nyan Koi are similar of the female characters of Love hina. Both are harem, are comedy and some ecchi parts

Sankarea is about zombies yes, but it all starts with a boy ressurecting his pet cat he can't let go of. Nyan Koi! is about cut kitties yes, but it's also about pennance for a curse. These shows both have a great sense of humor, and in a way they're both about a 'cursed' main character. Also, they both deserved to be a season or two longer.

The main characters of both shows junpei and touma are extremely similar: -They are both extremely unlucky (which leads to a lot of humor) -Both main characters are laid back and fairly "normal" high school students -They both have unusual abilities that almost always get them into unwanted trouble

both protagonist got some sort of curse on them. both series are funny and have very interesting plot

Both feature light hearted comedy. Both present characters in a form of debt. Both are given a unique ability to see/hear things others cant. Just swap cats to yokai, and harem for friendship.
report Recommended by Tibs212
both protagonist of each series gain the ability to talk to cats in nyan koi's case, the ability is a curse

These series both have a very different premise with one being about talking to cats and one about a trash gamer whos finally making friends. But one thing they have in common is that they are both romcoms with relationships that develop fast. If you are annoyed with annoying mc's that are denser than the periodic table, then you should check this one out. They both have mc's who actually have a crush on a female, they also both try to pursue the female love interest. If you like the style of Nyan Koi then you will like Gamers!

-Harem anime featuring cats. In Nyan Koi the protagonist is cursed by a cat, and in Meiji Tokyo Renka the protagonist is searching for a ghost cat. A cast of eccentric, lovable characters in both.

so much similarities; school life, comedy which is always misunderstandings, has a romance and harem and both protagonist are sometimes hopeless but always funny.

Nyan Koi! features a character that can speak to cats (not by choice), and in a Whisker away the MC can also converse with them. They are both on the lighter side, Nyan Koi! feeling a bit more silly, and whisker away more intense. The protagonists of the two shows are faced with the same danger of becoming something they don't necessarily want to be, and also their crushes are cat lovers. One main difference would be that in one the show is through the eyes of a male character and the other a female...

Pretty good anime with - same atmosphere of girls around a boy but different plot by just adding cats - similar like a boy has a crush on certain girl but can not confess I should say give it a try

Both have a large amount of humor, both from slapstick and more subtle sources. Also, both have people fighting with amusement park mascots, if you're into that niche.

Both involve deity/goddess that seem to interrupt a normal boy's life. They both are a romance comedy that will keep you entertained.

The only real similiarity between the two is that they both has a group of cute high school girls. Don't watch them right after each other. Why? All the female characters are sweet that you will get an insulin rush!! Oh!! and neither have major storylines. They are both fun to watch and enjoy. If you want something deep, neither of these will do it for you.

Main characters have to help other In Kobato main character have to "collect" broken hearts and repair them In Nyan Koi cursed boy to break his curse abnd be freed have to help cats with requests

Same thing happened to the main characters of how they met. A romance-comedy you'll ever missed.

The drawing style is relatively similar, and both include supernatural elements. While Natsume Yuujinchou is a bit -more- supernatural, it doesn't stop both the main characters from being bothered by otherworldly spirits and curses!
report Recommended by Prophetess
Both have similar scenes, for example, in the pool or in the amusement park. The atmosphere is also similar. Both series are comedies and romances with elements of harem.
report Recommended by Shifu
Although with different plots, since they're made by the same studio: AIC, they have similar animation and gags, and totally just as funny and enjoyable to watch. If you like one, you'll most definitely like the other...If not, then you're missing out.

Both main characters have girls around that like them. Both of them are romance, schoollife animes with some comedy sequence.
report Recommended by Greenmelon
Both comedy-harem-romance Unfortunate main character getting in trouble because of the girls surrounding him Also he's always unable to confess his love to a shy girl
report Recommended by Ravell
about relations between people and animals with elements of mysticism, besides the main characters similar
report Recommended by Kalissen
These two series feature the overarching theme of cats! They are both colorful slice of life anime with a lighthearted feel. They also both have harem elements and the comedy usually tends to go into more of the "screwball" theme. The two are highly similar - you should watch if looking for a slice of life with some cats...
