Synopsis

Middle school student Mirai Onozawa is dissatisfied with her family circumstances and, in a moment of frustration, wishes to tear everything apart. Unfortunately, these destructive thoughts seem to come true in the form of a magnitude 8.0 earthquake just a few moments later.

When summer vacation begins, Mirai reluctantly takes her younger brother Yuuki to Odaiba, where a robot exhibition that he wanted to go to is being held. However, while they are in the exhibition center, the fury of a major earthquake shakes the Kanto region; helpless, both kids witness the devastating power of this natural disaster as it brings the city to its knees.

In its aftermath, they stumble upon Mari Kusakabe, a motorcyclist and single mother who decides to help the young siblings. Aiming to return to their homes and reunite with their families, the group sets off on a long and hard journey through the decimated city.

I have always loved visual works that are based on true stories. In my opinion, the story had unnecessary parts that should've been shortened, but considering that 11 episodes are not that many to look at it from this POV. I loved the visuals, the art style, the animation, the scenarios, and almost everything. It does not reach the rating of 10,9 or 8 out of 10 so the proper rating of it is around 6.5-7.5/10 but what made me rate it this high is the amazing plot twist at the end of the show. The storyline is unique depending on what animes I have ...

Mixed Feelings
Okay, I've never written a review before but I had to. The first half of this series was AMAZING! It chilled me to the bone, it warmed my heart, it made tears pour down my face like no other anime before it and I could not stop watching, I just loved it.

A certain scene about half way through really leads the audience on and causes great emotional distress for the main character and feel really cheap and really unnecessary. The worst case is presented, but then everything was resolved. I hate that, but it was forgivable. But, then the show began to drag for ...

Thought this show would be interesting as it had a solid premise and a good overall score (it was at an 8 at the time of this review). Unfortunately, I was left disappointed. I feel like there’s so much they could of shown when it comes to what life is like after a major earthquake, but instead the show decides for the two child leads to have awful communication skills and just leave the group whenever they feel like it which would then lead to 5 minutes of the person/people left behind looking for them. This is pretty much all that happens in the show. ...
