Anime featuring characters with good or bad luck. ![]() ![]() Everyone has on opinion on the 'best' anime. But which are the anime that—regardless of quality—you simply have to watch before you die? Here are the ones you need to see! ![]() ![]() Every animated media that has been made has the idea to tell a story and to express a feeling on the watcher. But then, there are some series which has a particular way to evocate their sentiments and they use different tools to do that. Thought provoking writing, displaying the characters' internal monologues, their struggles and fears, using particular cinematographic angles and by blending contrasting styles of animation, coloring and highly symbolical and metaphorical imagery - these are some of the many hallmarks signifying the said animation has psychological themes, and that it is avant-garde in it's approach. This method of expression is not limited to any genre, as well. ![]() ![]() We've all experienced that frustrated feeling of enjoying an anime, only to find out that the rest of the show will never be fully animated or it has a horrible, rushed, incomplete, unsatisfying ending. Here is a list of anime with endings that are so fulfilling and complete that they will leave you with nothing but a heart full of contentment and/or bittersweetness. List was created through collective data from multiple websites of people's answers as to what shows are considered to have satisfying endings. ![]() ![]() Anime with great worldbuilding, or the development of the fantastical environment and world! None of these anime take place in what you would call 'our universe', rather taking place in an alternative universe or fantasy/ sci-fi setting with amazingly well-tailored and fitting details in technologies and architecture that makes every world unique. ![]() ![]() Although none of these anime have a tag/theme that denotes them as psychological, they all use cinematographic tactics often seen in psychological media to explore different aspects of the human condition and tackle atypical and philosophical topics. ![]() ![]() Some stories aren’t about the destination, but the journey, the experiences we gather and the people we meet along the way, from vast meadows where the wind dances through the grass, to forgotten temples crumbling with time, frozen mountains that steal your breath, shadowy forests where the sunlight barely reaches, deep caves draped in moss, and lively, chaotic cities where every alley has a story to tell. ![]() ![]() The most acclaimed anime series of all time, compiled from 57 lists. Last updated October 2022. ![]() ![]() Series that range around 11 episodes to 26 episodes and have already reached their finale. Taking into account 2nd parts for the 26 ones. ![]() ![]() Classic 20th-century series and films that most old-school otaku have heard of and many older fans will cite as the reason they became a life-long weeb in the first place. Some have gotten sequels or modern reboots, while others have been relegated to the past and stand alone as fondly-remembered products of their time. If you want to take a journey through anime history, these shows are the place to start! ![]() ![]() 100% purity here! Not a single bit of nonsense relating to sex! ![]() ![]() I wanted to make a list of shows that I think have really cool art, artistic symbolism, or art styles. ![]() ![]() Strong gradients; metallic, unsaturated or cold colors (greenish yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet); blobs, shiny textures, 90's futurism, robotic or serif fonts. Trends are towards Sci-Fi, Mystery, Action and Suspense. ![]() ![]() Adult Swim (stylized as [adult swim] or abbreviated as [as]) is an American timeshare cable television network bundled with Cartoon Network. The programs featured on Adult Swim are geared toward teens and young adults. Broadcast since 2001, much of the network's general content is known for its risqué, unorthodox and often bizarre presentation, while many of the series' features are developed in stark contrast with traditional American television programs. The block features stylistically varied animated and live-action shows including original programming, syndicated shows and Japanese anime, generally with minimal or no editing for content. ![]() ![]() From late 90s to early 2000s. Organic animation with a hint of depression, existentialism, cynicism, semi-realistic artstyle, fear/ embrace of technology after the economic bubble burst of Japan in 80s. ![]() ![]() Anime that contain the otherworldly and enigmatic beings from space! ![]() ![]() This list is made for the purpose of informing which action shonen or seinen will lead you through a adventure of a character's suffering, sadness, happiness, anger, and many other emotions, with you along for a ride. I guarantee that if you enjoy action, these popular series are the one to check out first. Note this list contains only the first season in the series. |
