In a world that’s already witnessed the adventures of 1,000 black-haired MCs, a pig, a sword, a magic vending machine, and fucking Osamu Dazai in another world, you might think originality is dead. But fear not, my brothers and sisters, because now it’s the leader of the Power Rangers stepping onto the isekai stage.

Originality isn’t just alive—it’s out here drop-kicking clichés in tight spandex.

For starters:
“Is this anime corny?” Yes.
... “Is this anime over the top?” Obviously.
“Can I finally turn on my brain and start taking things seriously for crying out loud?” Maybe... but here’s the catch: put the same amount of logic and critical thinking into this anime as you would while watching Power Rangers or any Sentai show.

Sure, it has heartfelt and emotional moments—those classic, tear-jerking speeches about never giving up and shit—but i'll be real. Most of the time, it’s just our MC screaming “THE POWER OF FRIENDSHIP!” and beating the absolute crap out of anything remotely evil.

Now, let’s talk about the MC:
Is he corny? Yes.
Is he over the top? Absolutely.
Is he annoyingly optimistic? HELL YES.

He’s the Red Sentai, for Christ’s sake—that’s his entire gig! You can’t expect anything less from the guy.

This is the dude who transforms, and the entire background explodes for no goddamn reason. This is the guy who punches and kicks all his problems away, no matter how big they are. And when I say he’s always screaming about “THE POWER OF FRIENDSHIP,” I’m not exaggerating—he literally does it. Every. Single. Time.

If you’re worried this anime might be boring, don’t be—because the creators made the perfect choice: they picked the red Sentai.

If the blue one overthinks every fight, the green one doesn’t think enough, the yellow one tries some convoluted strategy, and the pink one just sticks to the rules, the red one just yells, “FUCK IT, HERE COMES THE MEGAZORD!” That’s the energy we’re working with here. This anime had plenty of chances to be boring, but instead, the creators said, “NAH.”

Another thing this anime nails is showing just how ridiculously powerful a Super Sentai can be—and how utterly destructive their gadgets are. That’s something you rarely see in your average Sentai show because of live-action limitations, low budgets, and the fact that they’re fighting demigods every week. But in this anime? All those limits are gone. You’ll finally see how insanely strong even one ranger is.

Now, you might think our MC is just another overpowered protagonist, but don’t worry—he struggles. A lot. There are plenty of moments where he needs help from the heroines and other characters.

However, there is one crucial flaw: the animation. It’s... mediocre, especially during combat scenes. I was hoping for something as fluid as Fuuto Pi, but unfortunately, not every studio has the budget for that kind of quality. It’s a letdown, but the story and sheer insanity still make it worth watching.

Overall,if you are a fans of Tokusatsu and don't mind adding another isekai to your list,try this one, it's a 9/10 show but through the sheer POWER OF FRIENDSHIP, it's 10/10 now.

If you like Power Rangers and Super Sentai then this might be the right anime for you!

It's funny, it's decently animated, the MC only gets better as time goes by and the characters and story are quite interesting.

I highly recommend the manga which has much more content and the art is excellent :)

Even though the Isekai genre is oversaturated these days, I would say it's still a good show and one that makes you want to watch more.

I even bought the first volume of the series to help out and it's pretty cool.

Sentai Red Isekai de Boukensha ni Naru is an enjoyable and exciting watch as this anime is an essential Power Rangers iseaki. I say it's a must-watch if you grew up watching shows like Power Rangers, Super Sentai and Kamen Rider and even if you didn't it never hurt to give something a try, right?

The anime really likes to poke fun at the classic Super Sentai and Tokusatsu tropes and standards through the overuse of onomatopoeia whenever there is any chance. By all means, this does not ever get boring and instead adds to the charm of this anime due to it's epicness during ... fights and addition to the comedic aspect of the show.

The main character in this anime, Red' is a funny and adventurous character who only cares about forming and protecting "Bonds" with other individuals and takes does everything with 110% effort. The "Bonds" also serve as his power source throughout the anime, as he uses his these "Bonds" to help him fight against his foes through his assortment of relationship based weaponry and ultimately his Kizuna Beast, which can transform into a MEGAZOID. A main point of this anime is Red's absurd powers in this isekai world. As the world is that of a fantasy world, so it's always great to see whenever Red uses his powers and especially his megazoid to fight his opponents that are always blown away by his mecha.

Additionally, Red meets many people whom he forms "Bonds" with as he travels with his new team to put an end to nefarious plans of demons that wish to resurrect the demon queen. Besides Red, there are many enjoyable side characters in this anime, such as the mage Yihdra, who has the strongest 'romantic bond' with Red and wishes to become the top mage in the entire kingdom to average her father. Yihdra and Red's relationship also makes for some hilarious moments, as this mage keeps getting blown away by all of Red's sentai gear and the megazoid that he can summon to this world of swords and magic. Also, other characters like the princess Teltina and the hero Lowji join Red on his adventure as together they fight corrupt and evil lords to protect the kingdom.

The OP is also absolutely fire, as it fires you up and gets you excited about what you're about to watch.

If you enjoy isekai and tokusatsu based animes, why not enjoy this one which is a mixture of both. Sentai Red Isekai de Boukensha ni Naru is epic as you let yourself become immersive with the epic music, sound effects and action, along with its constant comedy. I highly recommend this anime for any fans of super sentai shows as you will thoroughly enjoy it.

If you're an enjoyer of tokusatsu, you will love this show. It pokes fun at the tropes and standards of Tokusatsu, but never in a way that's derogatory. It's filled with an absolute love and adoration for the genre as a whole, and it leans fully into the absurdity of it all. Usually an Isekai follows a protagonist adapting to their new world, but if anything it's the opposite here, as the fantasy world is literally forced to adapt to the presence of these otherworldly elements instead.

At the same time, it's not JUST a one-note comedy of Red pulling out some crazy ability that baffles ... everyone in the area (though the comedy is genuinely such a blast). There's a real story here, and while as of this review it has yet to pick up, I encourage everyone to stick with it because I haven't enjoyed an Isekai this much for a long time now.

Admittedly it does look like the animation quality isn't going to be consistent the whole way through, but it still works. The CGI isn't half-bad either, and speaking of... if you love combining super robots then the Maximum Kizuna Kaiser is for you.

Here’s a breakdown of my thoughts: the good, the bad, the mediocre, and what you should know before diving into this anime.

The Good:
Premise & Characters;
The premise is refreshingly unique, offering a concept I’ve never seen in another anime. It kicks off with a solid start and introduces a hilariously clueless main character nicknamed “Red.” His entire charm lies in his being a complete bonehead, paired with his ability to transform into a Power Ranger-style mecha.
Red crosses paths with a mage named ... “Yihdra,” whom he befriends (somewhat forcefully). Yihdra serves as the voice of reason in their party, creating a dynamic driven by their contrasting personalities. Most of the humor stems from their antics, with Red playing the dumb, oblivious protagonist and Yihdra taking on the role of the smartass sidekick. It’s a classic “idiot MC and intelligent partner” trope, but their chemistry works well. Together, they drive a lighthearted story that balances comedy with some decent action sequences.

The Bad:
Basic Clichés & Tropes;
A large amount of the story elements are similar to many basic fantasy animes that release every year. Such as meeting royalty and becoming their protector, or the obvious trope testing the hero’s abilities to prove their worth. Adding onto the fact of this anime having a common "oops, I suggestively fell onto you in a almost sexual manner and everyone is now looking at us" or "I said a somewhat easy to misunderstand statement, so people believe we are in a relationship now" sorta clichés. While these tropes don’t ruin the story, they make parts of the anime feel predictable and overly familiar.

The Mediocre:
Comedy;
The comedy is hit or miss—there’s no middle ground. When it works, it’s genuinely funny. When it doesn’t, it falls flat and can feel forced.

What to know before starting:
This anime is primarily a comedy with fantasy action elements. The humor takes center stage, while the action and Isekai themes are secondary. If you’re expecting a serious action-packed series, you might want to adjust your expectations. Think of it as a comedy with Power Rangers-inspired action sprinkled into an Isekai world.

Here we have the second anime by the Satelight studio scoring its first point giving us an enjoyable isekai the author knew how to combine the references of Tokusatsu and the cliches of isekai giving a balanced humor, if you believed here you will see the typical generic broken protagonist here you will not see it is well justified where the strength of the protagonist comes from, the level of the villains is well distributed and as is the strength of the group of the main character giving each one their role in the plot entertaining us a lot, the soundtrack is a success does ... not bother when they put in the typical cliché songs of Tokusatsu like the OP and ED it is true that the plot is simple it still carries the problems of isekai like putting each story a guild of adventurers I know they put it as a joke but I think it was not necessary to put it but it continues to fulfill its objective of entertaining the public and standing out from the other forgettable isekai

If you love Super Sentai, Kamen Rider, or even Power Rangers? Then Sentai Red Isekai de Boukensha ni Naru is a dream come true. This isn't exactly some edgy "The Boys" version of Sentai like Go Go Loser Ranger/Sentai Daishikkaku. This anime brilliantly blends the heroic spirit of a classic sentai with the classic tropes of an isekai world that we all know by now. What should be another boring isekai slopof the season, ends up being a refreshing take on both genres. We're seeing that Saturday morning cartoon energy with the kind of over-the-top ... justice that makes sentai so fun to watch-- all packaged into an anime.

The side characters are aware of the tropes and how ridiculous they are, but it never makes fun of the source material and inspiration in a mean way. It's surprising to me how low this show is ranked on here. I'm not finished with the series yet, but the voice acting and passion could be felt. The animation is crisp and great at many points, the CGI isn't too bad, the action sequences are fun, and the world-building is getting better. I hope it starts to pick up more.

FINAL THOUGHTS

I procrastinated writing this review because it's embarrassing how much it let me down.

So, I started this series with high hopes and there was a lot I was willing to look past but in the end it didn't deliver. I really hoped during the the final and important fights we get really good animation, but it seems like maybe there wasn't enough of a budget for it or time for the team.

Which really sucks because the voice actors really put their all into this. People really did care for this series, we even got inoue(famous super sentai show writer) to write an episode lol. This is a series where you can clearly feel the passion. The animation was just sloppy and lazily put together during moments where you really needed it to be punchy, a festival of eye candy fireworks and hype.

I feel really let down. If you end up watching this series, don't go in with rose colored glasses. Enjoy it for what it is and hopefully we get a remake or more effort in season 2. I'll be reading the manga and buying merch to support franchise. Thank you for reading if you got this far.

If you grew up watching Super Sentai shows, you’ll definitely appreciate this anime. I noticed some other reviews seem to miss the point — they don’t recognize that this is a parody, nor do they seem to understand what Super Sentai is all about.

This anime is a fun, deliberate mashup of Super Sentai and isekai tropes. It’s not meant to be taken seriously — and the show itself knows that. It fully embraces the flashy, over-the-top style of Super Sentai, and that’s exactly the point. It’s a well-executed parody of the franchise.

I don’t want to give any spoilers, so I’ll keep it vague. But one ... of the best parts of the anime is seeing how the MC’s past experiences reflect the way he acts throughout the series. There are a few moments where this becomes clear, but it really culminates at the end. I’m excited to see how it all plays out in episode 12!

If you’re unfamiliar with Super Sentai, this one might not land for you — but for fans, it’s an entertaining tribute that doesn’t hold back. But, I recommend this show to anyone who likes Super Sentai shows; especially with a little isekai tossed in for fun.

The Isekai genre runs on the idea of on ordinary person who is sent to an extraordinary world far beyond their imagination. And in terms of current anime they become someone with greater power than who they were before and it's a cookie cutter story that gets released every season. But not for Togo Asagaki, not for The Red Ranger Becomes An Adventurer in Another World.

The Red Ranger Becomes an Adventurer in Another World is about a man whos even more extraordinary than the world of sex and magic, the hero of children's television, the Kizuna Five! A Sentai Red!

While initial impressions may give you the idea that this is just a dumb comedy, there's so much earnestness done to the Sentai aspect that hasnt been seen before in other Sentai inspired anime that it's awe inspiring, this is a legit show that loves tokusatsu. And with the plot kicking in episode 3, its clear the comedy is just one aspect to this series, coming from the isekai side trying to make sense of something theyre not used to, as theres still a fun adventure story to be had with villains and monsters to overcome.

And already in some part, Red's gusto is infectious, the people in this world will be vibing with him instead of just gawking, eventually.

We now have the main cast together, and its quite a colorful one, even though it's not a red, blue, yellow, green, pink. Togo aka Red, with all his sentai redness, Yihdra, your typical sexy mage, Teltina, a princess with a gap of being a bit out of pocket and also strongly authorative, and Lowji, who hates the hell out of Red and adores his princess.

With Red being from a bond/bandage themed Sentai, and in turn his gear being powered by bonds, in a way the show is not too strange to compare it to a stage show, where the audience (the isekai world) has to support Red for him to be at his maximum power, be it the cannon (when was the last time those have been in a Sentai proper?) and of course the mecha(which you can eventually buy as a Kotobukiya model kit), Maximum Kizuna Kaizer.

And the OP and ED for this series, theyre great. The OP doesn't tell you much about the story we will be seeing, but it has style for days. And the ED is cute, very cute. The production for this show seems overall kind of low based, however its heart is in the right place and it looks generally really great even if it isn't the most animated thing this season.

This is a show that is just genre savvy in all the best ways, I wish more Isekais were like this, this feels like it could have existed before the isekai boom with its inspirations. A proper, well done fantasy idea. I can't wait for more.

This suffers the fate of almost all twists on/parodies of generic isekai/generic fantasies based on light novels. In that after an hour or two you've had your fill of the premise, or the author can't really think of much else to do and it ultimately just become just another generic isekai in one way or another.

This fares better than some in that it really commits to the super sentai bit. However the smattering of good jokes etc just aren't good enough to justify the generic isekai with pretty low quality animation. It's route and predictable in all other aspects and it ultimately started to ... bore me as the novelty of the sentai stuff wore thin.

If you couldn't already tell, this anime is satire. One of the funniest parts about this show is the main protagonist playing everything 100% seriously, and the side characters playing the straight man. Also, the absolute absurdity of the main protagonist's power system has had me crying laughing. Almost nothing in this anime makes sense, even when the characters try to explain it, but if you just let yourself get swept away by the music, action and sound effects, you'll yourself get hype too!

It's great! Peak comedy! I recommend this series for a drunken binge watch if that's something you're in too. On a related ... note, sorry for writing this review while tipsy.

I knew it would be a parody and wasn't expecting much to begin with.
The sentai aspect of the show is nice but outside the megazord and desert ranger (evrything about it was nice) the art was uninspiring and bland.
The plot is okayish.. little conveniences couple of times. Only surface level knowledge on characters, I still am not sure about how the mc sees his isekai party.
Music , there isnt much to talk about it

Sentai red Isekai Boukensha ni Naru is at first glance an isekai with some small tweaks that exists only for the sake of having "isekai" as a tag. But I couldn't be more wrong. This show isn't trying to deliver a deep message nor any emotional story. But let's be honest, are every story obligated to be emotional and deep just to leave a mark on the watcher? no. Sentai red is nothing incredibly thought provinking and phylosophical but a big love message to the power ranger style live action ... shows that used to air back in the 2010s. As someone who remembers them from my childhood, yes it plays of my nostalgia, but I just can't stop enjoying it. I can't stop myself to vibing my head left and right each time the transformation theme plays or laugh each time a character reacts to the protagonist transformation. Is my humor broken? probably. This is by no mean peak comedy, but some stuff that still makes me laugh my arse off. If one thing this show does great is it's characters. They are goofy freaks and they have some very nice chemistry between them which is very enjoyable to watch(it's tagged "romance" on mangadex, and yes there is some sparkles of love in it but it's a big subgenre).Other than that, this is practically only playing off our nostalgia, and for people who didn't watch any Sentai shows in the childhood might not enjoy it at all. But honestly, do we care? The eminence in shadow was playing with our edgy, cringe, chunibyo adolenscence and most of us appreciated it. This is why, in my opinion, even if it might be too high of a score for it, Sentai Red isekai de boukensha ni naru deserves it's 8//10.

A fun little, light-hearted Tokusatsu show with an isekai spin. It's hard not to like this show, but sadly there isn't a whole lot to praise either.

Your mileage may vary, but the charm and comedy of it's unique premise could only carry it so far for me before it inevitably faded and fell in to the more played-out isekai fantasy story beats.

The production quality is decent, but isn't much to write home about, which is pretty par for the course at this point when it comes to these types of shows, so I can't say I'm that surprised.

I did like what I watched, but did ... not feel the urge to go on further.

I'd say give it a shot, but don't get your expectations too high for this one.

This Iseki is a comedy, not a parody. Don't go into this series thinking that it is meant to mock either the Sentai or Isekai genre. I say this because I feel a few have picked up this series thinking that it does just that, and in their minds, the series thus fails. However, the point of the series is quite different and lies with how the two genres are incompatible with each other, specifically, the hero powers of the two genres. It's about the comedy that results from a hero from the Sentai genre being brought into an Isekai world while keeping his highly ... incompatible powers in that world. It's about the WTF moments caused by his interaction with the world, how he is a baffling element to a world that isn't genre-savvy to the Sentai genre like we are while the Sentai hero remains oblivious to how incompatible his powers are to the world, to how he stands out like a sore thumb.

In this, the Anime does what it sets out to do.

To that--

This is certainly not going to be an Anime for everyone. For example, those who highly dislike overpowered characters will want to give this series a pass as it's yet another one of those type of Isekai. Those who also dislike fanservice even in the slightest will also want to take a pass. That said, regarding fanservice, it's mild and nothing to worry about.

In an immensely saturated genre, Isekai Red stands out from the rest of its contemporaries by blending the absurdity of Tokusatsu with many of the traditional fantasy tropes of Isekai. Had a lot of fun with this one as someone who grew up a big power rangers fan, seeing an anime actually capture the magic of power rangers in terms of the crazy transformations, cringey fights, explosions, zords, friendship etc etc., this show plays out like a love letter to the Tokusatsu genre and my generation who grew up watching it. If you like power rangers, Kamen rider or just want an Isekai that’s different, ... look no further. This is a really enjoyable watch that starts out light and gets surprisingly emotional.

Isekai Red kind of tricked me because the first couple episodes made it seem like this was just going to be a show that made fun of how ridiculous some Toku concepts were. After the MC gets isekai’d to another world, the characters react as you’d expect for people who’ve never been exposed to power rangers or Kamen rider. After a few episodes though, it starts taking things more seriously, fleshing out the world, the characters and actually having a pretty interesting story. It eventually became a standard fantasy world with power rangers style villains executing a power rangers villain style plot and a ranger as the main character, which either sounds great or awful depending on how much you liked power rangers growing up. These days I’ll take pretty much any variation on Isekai that makes it different from the usual depressed salaryman gets summoned to a world and now has a wish fulfilment harem of hot elves and cat girls. This is a genre that’s been in desperate need of fresh blood and this show is just that to me.

The character relationships are the best part of this show like they are for most power rangers inspired series. Togo is a constant source of optimism and inspiration for the other characters, often helping them overcome past trauma and move forward. He might be “cringe and “over the top” but he’s a genuinely great dude with a heart of gold who will do anything for his friends. Sadly he still suffers from being dense in matters of romance like most other isekai protags, but this show is much more about friendship than romance so it is what it is. Loved how he and Yihdra’s relationship developed and his rivalry with Lowji. It wouldn’t be a power rangers series if red and blue didn’t have some sort of beef, so I like how they incorporated a lot of the color/character traits from live action toku stuff into the anime.

Production isn’t the best here, but it’s passable. I do love the character designs a lot and the voice acting staff is actually a real cool way to pay homage to some classic Sentai and Kamen Rider series!

This’ll probably be one of those series that the masses forget, but for me as a 90s baby who grew up watching power rangers on Saturday mornings this was like a dream come true. Despite how saturated the genre has become, I still love the concept of Isekai. The issue is writers with limited imaginations who don’t do anything different with what should be a completely blank slate of a world. Credit goes to the author here for trying to do something new with the genre, even if it’s not the best thing ever, I liked it quite a bit.

'The Red Ranger Becomes an Adventurer in Another World' seems to be yet another trashy isekai, and it's probably easy to get overlooked. Despite this fear, it has some unexpected depth.

After winning the battle against the evil Secret Society Relationship-enders aka Zetsuender, Asagaki Tougo finds himself transported into another world and eventually meets Arvoln Yihdra, who tries to help him get back to his old world while they solve the problems they find themselves involved with in this new world.


§ Notes

...
1. Tougo is the red ranger, and their group is called the Kizuna Five. The word kizuna (絆) means bond or connection, and it's an important motif throughout this series. His enemies in his old world were about destroying any bond or connection people may have.


2. Tougo has a rather extroverted personality, and it can be quite annoying. But once you reach the episode telling us his backstory, it becomes easy for us to understand him and the reason why he is so ready and more than willing to build bonds with other people.


3. The anime has some good arcs, but it could have been better. I can't give it a higher score because some arcs do include some deus ex machina.


4. The physics of how his machines can get summoned back and forth from Earth to the isekai makes you facepalm.


5. It's a tribute to sentai/Power Rangers type of shows. If you watched a few of those shows back in the day, you will definitely appreciate this show and/or cringe. Like it or not, the leitmotif that plays whenever the Red Ranger uses his weapons or summons his machines/robot sounds so cringe, and it doesn't seem to transer itself well in the anime and might as well remain in live action.


6. You can compare this anime to 'Go! Go! Loser Ranger!' That anime seems to be a deconstruction of the sentai (superhero team) genre. Even though it came out earlier than Red Ranger, I recommend watching that anime after seeing this Red Ranger anime. Red Ranger assumes that rangers are heroes who protect people, while Loser Ranger presents rangers as villains.


7. The animation is slightly better than the usual slop.


§ Conclusion

This is one decent isekai. It has its moments of depth and moments of cringe. If you can get past that, you will have a great time because it's not that usual to feature a ranger in an anime.

This anime is the very definition of a satire meta, it’s kind of like what Eminence in Shadow set out to be in that sense. It’s a very intentionally over the top, which in combination with the isekai element, makes the anime bizarre; Red’s interactions with the isekai characters are comical and make the anime entertaining and worth watch despite it being an isekai in an massive ocean of Isekai.

There is some plot surrounding Yihdra and such, but the plot is more of a device to introduce news characters and bring comical situations to the viewer, rather than for the anime to try and take ... itself seriously.

I give all these fantasy/isekai a couple episodes to impress me before ignoring them, as sometimes there is the needle in the haystack that is really a gem, and while I wouldn’t say this anime is generational by any means, I think it’s worth the watch for most people.

I gave it a 10/10 because it’s right up my alley, but I’d say it’s more objectively a solid 7.5/10 for most people.

What you expect from a long weird name isekai anime ? mid plot , ost , characters , pacing etc but this show breaks all steryotypes .
Red ranger in another world is a explosion of emotions your will get comedy , excitement , adventure even bearable fan service .
Bonds of friendship also shown and described in a proper way which i assume a hidden message for today's pathetic societies .
If you looking for a 12 ep comedy banger then , this show is for you . Fill your glass ... , prepare some snacks , have a seat and enjoy your time and please don't try to binge in a single sitting sometimes it kills the fun .
