Hitoribocchi no Isekai Kouryaku

High school student Haruka has always been a content loner. One day, he and his class are abruptly transported to another world and given skill points to use when choosing from an assortment of abilities and magical powers. Unfortunately, Haruka arrives last, and he can only use his points on the seemingly impractical abilities the others had no interest in. Although he is on his own again and must adjust to his new life by himself, he much prefers it that way.

However, Haruka's peaceful solitude is short-lived, as he runs into some of his classmates. Weak to their pleas for help, he ends up sheltering and helping them reunite with the others. But the different cliques struggle to see eye to eye, forcing Haruka to find a way to end the infighting and restore harmony between them to survive the unfamiliar world.

Please give this show a chance! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE. I'm hoping by the end of the season, the show's rating should stand up to at least a 7 rating.

MORE THAN ANYTHING, this review is written by someone who's insanely picky with the stories he likes and enjoys the source material (the light novels) a whole lot. So, if you don't like reviews regarding anime where the adaptation has yet to show it's best parts yet, take this with a grain of salt.

Everyone else keeps shitting on it because it has yet to show it's potential. This is genuinely one of my favourite ... light novels of all time. It has one of my favorite moments in all of fiction. People are shitting on it saying it's got that thing where it's an average isekai, protag gets a harem, OP protag-- Oh my god. PEOPLE BE WHINING, SAYING IT'S A HAREM, IT'S NOT EVEN A HAREM. NONE of the female students, have yet to get romantic feelings towards him even in the novels (as far as things have been translated, 8 volumes in), it's literally just trust for now. (I do feel like it could get to romance, but as for now, the female classmates are just like the girls of Konosuba where you kinda hate them but you also love them)

(He does get pussy but it's not with his classmates.)

More than anything, I'm even very happy about this adaptation but the sheer amount of people shitting on it makes me despair. The only thing I kinda don't like about the adaptation is how it's not gorey, as a lot of moments in the novels had monsters have their guts everywhere, not them being spared like they show in the anime.

I think it's the title of the anime that's irritating people.

"Loner Life in another world". He's not exactly a "Loner", more than anything, his most defining trait is how crazy and ridiculous the protag is. How often he defies the odds is something that is very enjoyable to see.

As the story goes on, his feats are less about his "strength" but more about his ridiculous rational, and exploits that he does WITHOUT using his powers even.

I would probably recommend the anime over the novels due to how fucking unbelievable the author's writing style is. They skip days in the anime, but I want you to know, that the novel does not do time skips which is crazy. I was reading it and thinking "Holy shit, this fuckers actually going through with this". You know how some anime, when there's a dungeon with 100 floors, they just barely cover what happened when the protags traverse it. No, in this story, they go through every fight and every level, across every day and it's seriously crazy. I think the author is as crazy as the protag.

I'm expecting the anime to adapt up to Volume 3 which I think is a decent stopping point, but if this show gets a season 2, that whole arc goes fucking crazy. Day 77, to the light novel readers who's reading this, you know that shit is crazy peak. Day 77 takes place in Volume 7, and I would love to see it adapted.

If you see this. Please give the show a chance. If you can't stand the show now, wait for it to finish, and binge it, I swear it's peak.

Though more than anything, this is a love it or hate it type of show in the same sense as "I Parry Everything". There are some disbelief moments like in "I Parry Everything", but personally I fucking love that shit.

Ah, another day, another isekai. In "Hitoribocchi no Isekai Kouryaku," we meet our typical loser protagonist who's so unremarkable that he's overlooked when his entire class gets transported to another world. When he finally arrived, his classmates picked up his good skills and cleaned them, leaving him with leftover scraps—basically, the isekai equivalent of choosing the last slice of pizza that nobody wanted.

The Plot So Far:
Despite this, like most skis, our MC manages to make these so-called "crappy" skills work to his advantage, and surprise, surprise—he becomes ... pretty amazing. The twist here is that he is a loner and avoids people, but the plot has other plans. No matter how hard he tries to stay out of the spotlight, he ends up helping others repeatedly, which is a kind of dedication to keeping to himself. Classic.

Is It Worth Watching?
If you're an isekai fan, you already know the drill—don't expect groundbreaking originality here. "Hitoribocchi no Isekai Kouryaku" won't blow your mind or leave you on the edge of your seat, and it's not the kind of show that will make you count down the days to the next episode. But, hey, it's also not cringey or painfully over-the-top, so if you're in the mood for a low-stakes, easygoing watch, this isn't a bad filler to tidlousyou over for the day.

Potential for More:
The end of episode 3 does introduce an interesting twist that hints things might pick up from here, which is enough to keep me mildly curious. If this twist delivers, we could see this anime shift from a solid 5/10 to something more worthwhile. But it's firmly in the "wait and see" category.

Final Thoughts:
If you're on the fence, give it a couple of episodfewe if the twist grabs you. This isekai may not reinvent the wheel, but it's not a waste of time either. Sometimes, you need a simple show to relax with, and "Hitoribocchi no Isekai Kouryaku" fits that bill nicely. Let's see if it can prove itself worthy of more attention as the season unfolds!

This is ridiculous, another trash Isekai.

-MC gets OP power ? Check
-MC gets a 20 women harem without doing anything ? Check
-MC is a "loner" and is excluded ? Check
-MC complains about having no luck when the plot is literally breast-feeding the man ? Check
-Animation is trash ? Check
-Delinquents are the bad guys ? Check
-Women are sexualized and average 100-60-100 measurements ? Check

... When you want to copy Arifureta and have the whole class gets transported to another world, the starting line is already messed up as you are trying to copy another trash Isekai, that copy pasted another trash Isekai to begin with.

It's like watching the dream of some teenage boy that has been transported to an Isekai, and everything works out fine for him, he gets all the stuff, all the girls, has the power to reproduce anything he sees, lives in a mansion, is the strongest around, etc. etc.

What's the point of having those Isekai clones, where MC is always the type of guy who acts like he wants to act alone, but still gets a small harem of 3 to 4 girls that are basically his slaves as they are all crazy in love with the man for no reason and do anything he wants. It's always the same garbage that have the same story, the same characters, the same tropes and the same 12-episodes streak of nothingness.

When I watch this and then watch ReZero or Overlord, it pains my heart to put them in the same category.
