Mofa Gongzhu de Xiao Fannao

In the novel The Lovely Princess, the secondary character Athanasia de Alger Obelia is the most pitiful of all. Her mother died in childbirth and her father, Emperor Claude, never gave his daughter even an inch of love. Forever yearning for even the slightest bit of parental love, she was ultimately framed for a crime and executed by the orders of her beloved father.

When a woman from modern-day Korea falls asleep with some sleeping pills, she later awakens in the infant body of Athanasia. Knowing the unenviable fate that awaits her, she resolves to remain out of her tyrannical father's sight so that she may never incur his wrath. However, fate isn't so kind, and she meets him at only five years of age. With her original plan tossed out of the window, she now aims to endear herself so much to her father that he would never dream to hurt her.

However, as many work toward their own ends, her plan is thrown into chaos—Athanasia's biological "sister" Jennette Margarita longs for a family, high-ranking nobility vie for power, and a shadow from Claude's past threatens to destroy everything he holds dear.

Preliminary (3/16 eps)

I was pretty young when I followed and read the manhwa, and even then, it was one of my favourites. Might've been the one that got me hooked on the reincarnation trope, actually, so imagine my surprise when I found out that there would be an animated adaptation.
Three episodes in, it's clear that the budget for the series is not low at all, which was kind of an expectation I had.

The intro and outro are not exactly my cup of tea, but even their animation is well done. I'm happy that the story gets its recognition and hope that it receives proper attention, ... so there can be hope for a second season.
The story is a bit fast-paced - I'm not a die-hard fan of the manhwa, so it doesn't bother me if there are a few differences, and I haven't read the novel, so there isn't any way for me to know how accurate the story is in the animation. As long as there aren't any major changes, I think that it'll be okay.

It's too early for a definitive rating, but if I had to put one, I'd put a solid 8. The manhwa is still above in quality for me, and I would always recommend it first.

Mixed Feelings

Preliminary (3/16 eps)

Extremely mediocre compared to the source material and only just passes as acceptable. So many plot essential plot details were changed. I understand that they had to change details of her reincarnation due to policies in China, but that isn’t the only issue. So many details that were essential to Athanasia’s motivation to live and survive are omitted, Claude is simply not as intimidating or threatening as he is in the manwha, and the overall tone and storybeats were altered for no reason. I’m am so disappointed. While I do love the details in the background and admit the studio has produced decent animation, it ... feels like the story has been dumbed down to a sort of childish comedic story instead of the intense and heartfelt development between father and daughter it was meant to be. Claude is too docile and non-threatening too early in the series, which makes Athanasia’s motivations and attitude misaligned with her situation. Furthermore, Claude’s perspective is revealed too early and makes the story extremely predictable and corny. Everything just doesn’t have the same threat level as it did in the original series, no events are perceived as scarce or dangerous and Claude’s attitude is just too corny.

This anime introduction is one of the worst; unlike the manhwa with its cohesive logical start, plot, and events, this anime story is fragile.
they changed the main core of the original story and by doing so they made it lack logic and every viewer will not accept it , at least the one who have well-working minds.

Honestly, I have been hating anime in recent years because of their disregard the viewers' minds. you give me a child that can see future, can think and analyze, and also do critical thinking? and you expect me to say oh wow that's a brilliant and attractive story?

seriously ... guys is this trivial story attractive to you?
