MAL really needs to add a "Dumb/Dense Protagonist" tag so I can avoid shows like this.

Before, we had shows where the MC would never have to do anything and they'd come across some cheat powers. Now, the meta has shifted to MCs finally training hard to become strong, but the catch is that they lose all their intellect in the process so you end up with a main protagonist who just lives in his own world and has 0 self-awareness.

The gist of the show goes like this, MC strong but he thinks he's weak. Everyone else is weak and thinks the MC is strong. Endless ...

In 1959, the sociologist C. Wright Mills published a monograph titled "The Sociological Imagination." The titular concept purports to draw a connection between the individual's personal experience and the social world—that is, how the social world affects the individual.

Noor, the protagonist, is viewed by many as a bumbling idiot who parries everything, brain cells included. Some see this as charming gag humour, while others see it as a trope that wears out its welcome in a few episodes. Everyone is right. But I'd like to expand upon this and invite the enterprising viewer to approach the show with Mills's concept of the sociological imagination in ...

I want to play a bit of a devil's advocate here and tell you why this is not an unwatchable garbage, as many reviewers claim, but rather a very watchable garbage.

The main problem of this show lies in the failure to properly communicate the main characteristic of our MC beforehand on the author's part.

The MC is mentally challenged. I mean it not as profanity but as a medical condition. Like Forrest Gump the hero of this story lives in his own world and deserves pity. He has an intellectual disability. It is shown many times that what is common knowledge and basic logic to ...

Noor's sheer stupidity is maddening. Despite his obvious power, he remains clueless about his abilities. This lack of self-awareness isn't endearing; it's rage inducing. Watching Noor struggle to understand his own strength is a test of patience, and his character fails to develop throughout the series. The anime's excessive use of recaps is another major issue. Every episode spends too much time rehashing previous events, which drags down the pacing and makes the series feel stagnant. The storyline has potential. The action scenes are decent. However, these positives are often overshadowed by Noor's frustrating behavior and the repetitive recaps. The first episode was quite ...

I Parry Everything - 3 words, 1 show, simple to understand...except for the brain.

I know, I know...long LN titles (vice versa on both Japanese and English titles) and the like bores us to tears, since most of them end up being at best decent to at worst, mediocre to plain bad. But there's a chance to think of a "what if" situation where one or the other could just have a short title and be very descriptive to the T. And my friends, that's exactly the scenario for novelist Nabeshiki's Ore wa Subete wo "Parry" suru: Gyaku Kanchigai no Sekai Saikyou wa Boukensha ni Naritai ...

You know, its that bad that it good in some way. I Will "Parry" All: The World's Strongest Man Wanna Be an Adventurer. There are a lot of different translations of the title but I’m gonna use this one. . We have Noor our MC a orphan who wants to be an adventurer but he is not able to learn any kind of magic or fighting style after this he give up on his dream and become a worker in the town who helps people. Tho he has one talent and its Parrying. He devolves it while trying to be adventurer. One day he sees Clays ...

Preliminary (5/12 eps)
Mentally challenged middle-aged man goes around and experiences things for the first time. Ooh, look a frog. Ooh a goblin. Oooh, a carriage ride in the middle of the fields. Aaah, oooh, eeeh. This pretty much sums up the behavior of main character, his complete lack of ability to think and lack of experience when it comes to common things. Most importantly lack of self-awareness.

He keeps jumping into every situation without a second of a thought while at the same thinking he's the weak one and everyone else is strong, even though he keeps besting everyone and people keep praising him and giving him rewards. ...

At first i wasn't completely sold on this anime...
But episode 7 cemented my love for it as soon as it finished.

Noor is one of the most wholesome and fun written characters i've seen in ages.
This comparison might be weird.
But he gives off the same wholesome vibe as Hiroi Kikuri from Bocchi the Rock
and Bojji from Ousama Ranking.

Just an incredibly kind person that might not be aware of all the stygmas that's been placed on people.
He's rolemodel material, he treats everyone with a basic kindness and and respect.

I parry everything.

I can parry at my braincells more like.

Though for serious, for it's first three episodes of it's lifespan, it's produced quite a promising product, and only time will tell if it actually parrys itself into a decent and solid product overall. It's not without it's hiccups though, that is for sure. Let me explain.

Story and characters: 6
The story can really make itself stand out as different compared to how others of this particular power fantasy genre go about things. Instead of simply being better cause we're gifted. How about we train instead? Work for it all? It's quite a refreshing take which does ...

A lot of people want to pan this show because of the MC being dense, but that’s not actually the issue here. Noor has been secluded and hardly educated his entire life until 14 when he was left on his own to do nothing but training for a decade, the guy has no reason to know damn near anything at all except for how to tend to animals and whatever odd jobs he picked up. Him being a complete oblivious idiot is expected given the setting.

The problem is that so is everyone else.

Adventurer’s guild: the guild has a policy of ranking capability simply by what ...

This show is extremely entertaining. I’m glad I didn’t see the MAL score (6.8) before trying it out because that score is definitely not what it deserves. Reading the reviews and comments, I can clearly see that people are not getting the idea at all. The protagonist is dumb and gets overpowered, and because he trained by himself for years without any contact with others, he just does crazy overpowered things without realizing it’s a big deal. When he does this unknowingly, I’m pretty sure it should be taken as comedy and not seriously, as a "WTF" moment but funny, which makes the show very ...

I feel like i have to leave a review to warn people ahead of time before watching.
Plot is obviously super bland, MC is incredibly overpowered and is completely unaware of it.
Everyone around him knows he is incredibly strong and ofc no one is communicating it to him and no one mentioning like for example the first overpowered monster he killed is an incredibly strong demon but he thinks it's a cow. No one tells him, it's beyond illogical and it's misunderstanding on top of misunderstanding...i thought maybe i have to give it 3 episodes but it does not get better. Continued skipping through the rest ...

Its hard for most anime watchers to like this because the main character is an adult, there are no cringey immature jokes, and it has zero fan service shots, so there isnt much for the average weeb to enjoy.
Every 10 year old's complaint is "hurr durr main character is dumb". but so are lots of other popular characters is anime (goku, luffy, naruto, asta, etc). The main characters zero awareness is the main part of the comedy. it wouldnt be funny anymore without it. If you cant get over that you have the mental development of a child.
The mc is humble caring hard working guy ...

If you need a chill fun show to pass time, this is it. It doesn't have any real depth or complexity, it's only supposed to be entartaining and give you that one crumb of dopamine in the moment. Contrary to other reviews I actually like the MC, he's made to be dense as a plot device/comedic gag, the joke is mostly "idk how strong I really am!!" so get ready to see it in every episode lol but it does make sense in the context, since he lived isolated from others and never mastered any high tier skills.
Now hold on, I'm not about to ...

I dont understand what the other reviews are talking about. The magic system is fine and the setting is pretty standard but man is the MC and the side characters absolutely insufferable. The miscommunication between the MC and everyone else about his strength was slightly funny at first but overall the MC is beyond stupid and the other side characters aren't much better. Some watchers may be able to shrug off the sheer ignorance of the MC by saying "oh he was raised isolated in the woods" but theyre forgetting the crucial fact that the MC spent 3 months in every academy and HAD TO ...

The title of the show tells you everything you need to know.
It's very much NOT an exaggeration.
The MC DOES parries everything.
Including a brain.

It's very hard for me to write a review not laced with profanities in this case, so just trust me when I say it is very much not recommended.

And if you dislike the "dense MC" trope, this one is a walking black hole.

And it honestly seems like the rest of the characters are also masters of parrying just like the MC, and they all parried common sense and their brains.

This anime is ahead of its time, should easily be scored 8+ on my anime list. I believes scores based on overall atmosphere will be the scores meta in the near future, but until then, enjoy this underrated show (currently a mistakenly low 6.8). It's a feel good show, main char is awesomes, and the hilarity of his denseness is pure. Story is simple, hilarious yet sincere learning moments. Art style is great, with an style befitting of its waifus.

Any fans of One Piece will like this show. It has a pure adventureness to it that many of us fans will find familiar, with ...

God this anime is so insufferable, i understand the premise is that the main character is dumb but holy hell, even mentally challenged will be an under statement, and that would be fine if only he was that dumb but no every single character is just brain dead. If u find a sense of superiority by watching someone so horrible maybe u can enjoy it but if u don't like watching someone who objectively has the iq of 2 then ull hate it as much as me.
Idea of the series is not original at all basically a op dude doesn't know he is ...

This anime is a mixed bag, depending on what you’re looking for. The story itself is far from unique—its predictability could turn some viewers away, especially if you’ve seen other series with a similar premise. However, if you’re someone who enjoys this genre or setup regardless of its originality, you might still find some enjoyment here. It delivers on the expected tropes, though it doesn’t venture far beyond them.

Visually, the art style fits the tone of the story, but it isn’t anything to rave about. It does the job, complementing the narrative without standing out as particularly remarkable. Fans of more stylized or unique animation ...

Can He Really Parry Everything... But Can He Parry a Serious Review? I Doubt It!

The story follows a classic adventure setting, situated in a fantasy world filled with monsters and magic. The main character has lofty ambitions, but they are quickly dashed due to his lack of, if not complete absence of, talent in various combat skills.

These skills are essential for him to achieve his dream of becoming an adventurer. However, through time, hard work, and sheer determination, he manages to reach heights never before seen in this world.

The protagonist is well-developed, both in terms of personal growth and how he evolves over the years. ...
