Ninja Kamui is a good anime, at least it was for the first 3 episodes. It was really fun to watch with beautiful flowing animation, amazingly choreographed fight scenes, a cool revenge story, and a simple but fun futuristic ninja concept. However, it seems all of the budget and thought process went towards those first 3 episodes. The animation was getting lazy, the plot started getting explained, but it sounded like a toddler wrote it (I'll get to this later), the whole anime just started to get boring because it was spouting meaningless exposition which was occasionally broken up by a short well animated fight,

A banal plot, at the beginning they show a happy family, which means that by the end of the first episode they will die and the main character will take revenge.
The animation is not bad, but there is a lot of pointless blood and action. If they show a fight, then it’s just a lot of quickly changing cuts, it’s beautiful, but nothing is clear and it doesn’t create tension. Anime is perfect for teenagers who like 80% of anime to be rivers of blood and fights for the sake of fighting. I didn’t see any humor, drama, depth or plot. Even for background viewing, this anime ... May 4, 2024
Ninja Kamui, the latest offering from action animation extraordinaire, Sunghoo Park, promises intense, gritty close-quarters combat to the forefront. This comes as no surprise, as action of this nature is Park's forte. You may know Park as the director of both the first season and movie of Jujutsu Kaisen, as well as God of Highschool and Garo: Vanishing Line. Action runs in his veins, alongside the immense drugs he must be taking, because he seemingly shoulders single-handedly for almost every episode of this show.
Produced by E&H Productions, a studio founded by Park himself, the core team appears relatively small, with Park at the creative ... Apr 6, 2024
Ninja Kamui starts out great for people who can look past a middling Story and Characters in favour of the Animation. The early fights are visually stunning, with fluid animation and great hand to hand choreography. The story then switches mostly to using CGI in fights which, while its still above average in terms of 3d-Animation, simply doesn't carry the oomph the show had in its earlier episodes.
It also starts losing itself in endless exhibition and twists which never feel like they're really going anywhere, making you want to skip through it just so you can go back to the fun action parts. Once ... May 13, 2024
I understand why the score started at 8 and then dropped to 7 and will drop even further. Because this anime just a scam. In the first 2-3 episodes: the action, art drawing, animation, fight choreography is excellent. But after that... The story starts as a nice revenge job, but as continues the episodes progress, the mediocre side characters, the empty story that just bad filled, and most importantly, the animation becomes terrible. The anime suddenly turns into mecha after 3-4 episodes and the animation art drawing, fighting, etc. are also very poorly done. All the money was spent on the first 2-3 episodes,

A waste of talent
When I first saw the trailer for Ninja Kamui I thought "this has some potential" Needless to say this show was far below my expectations Story: Just a revenge quest, nothing more, nothing less. Characters: Each character can be boiled down to 1 character trait like small horny guy, the one non-corrupt cop, and "my family's dead what do I do" ... May 23, 2024
What a weird show, what a weird story, what a weird conflict. So much effort was wasted on this show, and it feels so boring.
We have ninjas who moved from Japan to join up with some evil global elites in order to help them to achieve global domination (because who really cares why), and they produce high tech equipment for their "ninjas" including mecha armor, while doing random corpo political bs in the background. OG ninjas had a beef with new ninjas, so new ninjas want to kill OG ninjas who are exiles. MC is one of these OG ninjas, and he wants revenge, because ... Apr 29, 2024
This is my first review and I will make it simple.
First episodes are top tier in term of animation, characters, emotions, and the opening is awesome. Then the quality drop very badly, the events dont make any sense, animation became poor and character developpement should be called character regression. I will watch the 2 last episodes when they come out but exept for the first episode and the second the rest is a waste of time and a big disapointment. Is the story unique? If it was predictable, did you enjoy it anyway because you like this genre/set-up? Story not unique at all, could be really good but is ... Apr 24, 2024
DONT FALL FOR IT ITS A MECHA ANIME.
Lets keep the review short. The anime got potential atleast the first few episodes. What a start, you can feel the budget. It could have been thhe first anime jhon wick but IF, If it could have hold its story as same as those first four episodes. It Littrely got changed from godly hand to hand combat ninja anime to mecha anime like gundam (i hate mecha anime, eveligon, gundam every oneof them).Didnt liked the side characters that much, the fbi spy girl was interesting but they killed her very soon(unless the whole anime will be ending in 1 ... This series left me frustrated, but I should probably have seen the writing on the wall early on. It's a series that is built on the "style over substance" paradigm, and at least early on, it largely succeeds in that regard. The fight choreography, particularly in the first episode, is pretty incredible and the animation is generally great. Even as we got into later episodes and the fights became more chaotic, making the choreography harder to discern, I could still appreciate some of what they were doing.
Then, several episodes in, we're presented with CGI mech suits. I was initially hesitant about it, since none of ... Dec 4, 2024
Very good anime until chapter 4.
From this point: - Mech armor ruins combat. Less blood, less impact, less possibility of complicated strategies, less development of shinobi skills. - The animation begins to deteriorate. It's not a bad CGI, but it's very poorly implemented. The mecha battles are simply slashes and sparks, unlike the first combats, where the movements and choreography were better. - The story stops being interesting. The "villain" turns out to be an idiot. And the Organization, which the exiles fear so much, only the first 4 episodes are really scary. Then they mostly become NPCs waiting to be killed. ... What happens when you combine a talented director known for his expertise in crafting compelling fight scenes with a substantial budget, but neglect to develop a coherent script? the result is Ninja Kamui.
However, this anime reflects a broader trend in the industry, where some newer talents mistakenly believe that dazzling animation alone can elevate their work above established classics like Naruto and Bleach and this perspective is deeply flawed. Anime enthusiasts are drawn to captivating narratives and character development, not just visually stunning fight sequences. We were captivated by Naruto's journey to become Hokage, Ichigo's exploration of his dual life as a soul reaper, and ... May 5, 2024
A young man trains to become a ninja in a secret clan hidden in the mountains of Japan. The clan turns out to be evil, and the young man considers running away with a female colleague. The organization then kills his love interest, giving him cause for revenge. Thus, the protagonist has to use his skills against his malevolent mentors.
This is the premise of a 2009 movie called Ninja Assassin, but it can also work for this anime. The movie, at least, was somewhat entertaining, despite not being memorable. Ninja Kamui can only manage that for the first few episodes, and that is because of ... May 20, 2024
First few episodes promise cool ninjas, with excellent and interesting ninja techniques, fighting each other in the shadows of a modern-day city setting.
The middle episodes fill in the plot in a way that nobody really asked for, retcons the ninja techniques and turns it into a quasi-mecha anti-corporate battle and the later episodes sees the main character imitating a 'secret ninja art' that he saw once by just repeating the words his opponent said like it's a magic spell instead of a jutsu. Main character gets progressively weaker with each episode for no other reason than moving the plot forward, I guess? My suggestion: Avoid watching the ... Feb 26, 2024
TL;DR: John Wick the anime with ninjas.
The first episode was somewhat promising, but after that it became clear, that this is a low effort hack-and-slash anime, whit a massive budget spent on animation quality. It's the similar type of rubish, what we can see in Demon Slayer, but at least in this one, the story is trying to remain true to it's genre. If you're the type of person, who can be decieved with smokes and mirrors, than this anime will most likely entertain you for 3-4 hours. But after that, you will not even remember watching it, because it's just that generic. May 12, 2024
One of the lyrics of the fantastic OP "Vengeance" features the line "Rain, rain, come wash away this goddamn pain!". That line starting ringing through my head as I got to the end of what I firmly believe to be the worst of the Toonami originals which so far aside from one stroke of luck in Housing Complex C have all ranged from meh to terrible, thus leaving me under the impression that any future one of these is just gonna suck and that it's easier to go into them with that feeling to experience at least some form of enjoyment.
Which is a real shame ... Sep 3, 2024
I’m pissed bcus everybody was hyping about this and it did not meet up to my expectations. It was an agony to finish this, the only reason for me to finish this is to give a proper review.
I get it, we live in a different generation, so yeah ninja’s are extinct, but we can still merge them with new technology… it’s not the first serie that tried this, but it made the story really predictable. Rich spoiled tech nerd trying to “better” the world with his innovative technology, meanwhile he is corrupted by an oldschool gang… and they f’ed up by messing with ... May 5, 2024
TL;DR: Basic revenge story, but it's a mix of ninja and mecha. The best reason why you should watch it is because it's a short 13 episode anime with an actual conclusion (if you are like me and have plenty of experience in the anime/manga sphere and just want finished stories, not start the 124th anime/manga that you still didn't see the end of cuz it's not completed yet/cuz you need to read the real source material)
Heard it's an anime original (so finally an anime with a beginning and an actual ending) so I decided to check it out. While the anime is a 5/10, ... Apr 24, 2024
Ninjas mixed with futuristic technology and hacking. The first episode is very interesting but it only goes down hill from that. Characters say things in such a way that's supose to make them feel very meaningfull and deep but it really doesn't come of like that. Animations is good, fights are pretty sick but the way the story is told dulls out cool moments.
The design choices for fighting suits are bizar to say the least. At some moments this anime has a cool, serious vibe then it suddenly flips 180 degrees. Also wtf was the point of hyping up the fighting suits when they ... May 12, 2024
Well it was an anime which used all its budget on the episode 1&2 fight and I didn't enjoy it.
Art styles was an absolute mid and character was one of most boring shonen one. (It wasn't even a seinen) Bro was a illegal creature in episode 3&4 All of thing about this anime was horrible. a cliché story, one of worst art direction I see in my whole life, a horrible sacrifice which was meaningless and begin illegal from beginning until end... In the end I don't recommend this to any anime fan for even filling the time Go rewatch anything and don't see this anime. |
