This show is awesome. Animation and fights are top notch. Most the reviews on here are weird people honestly. The show has a score near 8 so the studio clearly made content appealing to their target audience and the reviewers on this site are generally out of touch. If you like action, adult content, and great fight animation you have it all. It's a Ninja Gaiden classic story being remade. Haters gone hate.

For whatever reason to write a review I need ... to use more words even though I described most the suggestions. So I'm writing more words here even though this stipulation is redundant garbage. So here it is again.....

Story: Dope action revenge Ninja Gaiden story being retold.
Animation: Amazing art style, fluid animation, great fights

Audience and Content: Mature, Seinen

Since I followed episode 1 to episode 13, I never got bored. The story is so interesting that it makes me curious like a roller coaster.
Dark. Emotions. Everything is combined well.
Every fight that shows up can make me hype. I really like fights that are full of gore. What I like the most is when Higan-san uses ninpo or ougi. (I forgot what it's called). It gives me goosebump.

Even though in the end it uses the mecha concept, I don't feel bored. Because I feel that it has become a distinctive feature in this anime.

(Besides, I still listen to the songs Vengeance and Legend begin.)

Even ... though it was complete, I felt very satisfied. Moreover, because I get a lot of inspiration as a writer.

This anime has a unique style and is spicy, unlike what we see in usual anime.

Story: The plot and storytelling are logical and reliable in relation to the situation, and the direction is also well made. Although we don't get to watch a good ninja show, this anime has the potential to meet your expectations.

Art: Its very good and well made.
Sound: good and well made, related to the time.
Character: Although characters are well made, their expressions are not as good as you would expect, and their backstory is like half baked. and like this anime is circling around some people only, you will not get ... to see more surrounding characters, maybe.

Personal enjoyment: I have enjoyed well one of the good anime I have seen.

First things first, If you don't know who the director of this anime is then I'll let you know.
His name is Sunghoo park, most notably known for directing the amazingly choreographed fight scenes in Jujutsu Kaisen among other stuff. So I decided to watch this with that in mind. This guy has so much raw talent, it's insane. He needs to be appreciated more.

Now on to the review.

Story : The first episode is one of the best premiere episodes I've seen in recent memory or even in the past year, It just throws everything all at you and hooks you in! I seriously was not ... expecting the story to be this engaging from the get-go. I assumed it's gonna be a run of the mill spy/assassin esque story but it actually has several exciting elements like who is the main character and why is he so good at what he does. The story kind of reminds me of John wick, atleast the starting portion. Go into this blind and I won't spoil anything for you.

Animation/Art : Now this is where the anime truly shines, the background art is superb and it blends so well with the action scenes. The thing that blew me away with this anime is the fluid blending of action and non action scenes. Usually when an anime has an action scene or Sakuga scene, you can tell from the different outlines and art but here it's not visiblly apparent and it just comes at you out of nowhere. This makes for such a refreshing experience that I haven't experienced much. Top tier really, nothing much to say.
Soundtrack/Music : The music is also surprisingly well suited for this type of anime. On top of that, The opening is done by Coldrain which is amazing band known for their rock and metal songs.

All in all, This is a very surprising out of nowhere anime that Toonami decided to produce and it deserves more attention than it's getting right now. It has high production values and a stellar staff, So it's in safe hands.

As of right now, The anime is a very easy 8/10 but this rating may or may not change depending on how the rest of the show goes.

The first impression of this movie, not an anime, is it’s like watching a cinema at a theater. Detailed depictions of persons and surroundings including the background are realistic at an appropriate level, and especially the descriptive pictures in the motions are outstanding. The action scenes appear like those captured by the high-speed cameras surrounding the characters in the fight. As a consequence, these scenes deliver the fighting energy to the audiences. It is hard to depict the fighting energy in the motion pictures, and there are rare shows delivering the fighting energy.

The second impression is its speedy pace in storytelling, including places of the ... scene adequate to the storytelling. The places the protagonist is heading are where his fury is heading to. The protagonist is seeking the enemies to revenge and he visits people in the seeking of the enemies, and this storytelling is so speedy that the audience have little time to do something other than watching an episode before the episode finishes.

The third impression is from its sound effects and music. These also make this movie close to a cinema at a theater. Exact timings of sound effects composes the realism in the action scenes and appropriate background music excites the fever in the fight. Theme songs are also at a high quality. The motion pictures, sound effects and themes songs comprise this movie, not just an anime.

This movie appeals to the masculine ones in the all ages, and would emerge as a new genre in the movies.

It is almost a masterpiece from the very first episode.

The story is not unique if we address it to the cliché: "character seeking revenge", but as the plot develops, it can become unique. The plot may seem cliché in theory, but the animations are up to the task of making it interesting.

The artistic style is at the top. The animations are of a high standard, as are the accompanying sounds. I really enjoy watching the fights.

As the episodes go on you see more character development. It's worth watching. If you like Samurai Champloo, you'll probably like Ninja Kamui.

Ok so for a start the current reviews l feel are way too harsh for what this anime was. It was really good if you could turn your brain off and watch the beautiful scenes unfold with a semi decent plot for the story. The only big let down was the pacing, since they only had 13 episodes for such a massive project the ending did feel quite rushed but apart from that everything else was pretty good. This is also the reason lm calling out those that left a review 3 eps in cos how the f word are you going to give it ... a negative when it did really well to hook the audience in and have an exciting start.

Story:6.5/10
Semi decent plot, nothing to make you fall head over heels for it but worked well enough and gives enough time to set it up. I would've liked a little bit more at the start and the end but apart from that for an anime original this is pretty good.

Art:9/10
The art is really good my only complaint is 3d mechs but name me more than like 5 current mech shows that are all 2d. Fight scenes are pretty fuckin sick especially at the start.

Sound: 8.5/10
Kinda self explanatory. The soundtrack is a decent listen by itself. Voice acting goes pretty hard.

Characters:7/10
The main characters do get built quite well and the emotions are pretty cool to watch plus edgey a little bit. Only complaint is i wouldve liked more episodes to build a little more and help with the main issue for pacing.

Overall:8/10
While yes lt does have it's faults for an original anime and the story it had the anime was pretty solid. It is way batter than what people are rating and reviewing it for. Thanks guys for reading this review.

Ninja Kamui a Hack and Slash, Ninja show in this season of Winter 2024.
From what I see. its a great Action flick-anime with amazing visual
and good audio. The downside is the story/writing of the show.

Animation:
Animation is Great from the fighting sequence, visual effects and filmography of the fight scene. TBH I can see the resemblance of John Wick. TBH its more like both AOT and John Wick. Camera angles are dynamic it enhances the fights so good and have a bit more impact. Its a good sight to see.

Now for the Story/writing. Its generic but not in a bad way. Characters and story line ... are good. I love a good revenge plot but it just lack impact for the characters and their relation with one another and the story itself. This is the only thing that's been bothering me when I watch this anime. If they flesh out or make the audience invest in the character. I would definitely enjoy it. All in all, The story/writing is pretty much fine.

I can't believe someone said the characters are underdeveloped after 3 episodes with one episode solely dedicated to showing the MC's lifestyle and character. Just a typical person who wants to try to go against the grain...

Ninja Kamui is essentially the John Wick anime we all secretly wished for. It's a story of revenge emphasizing fight scenes, violence, and power. Adding in ninjas and cyberpunk themes gives it a fresh new spin on the revenge story.

Similar to Cyberpunk Edgerunners, it's hard to really call this an "anime" as the only thing anime about it is the Japanese voice acting. This show was produced for Adult ... Swim too so it is tailored towards western audiences. You can immediately tell this is the case just based on the storytelling, animation, and vibe. This anime is dark and heavy with very little light-hearted moments to break up the pace similar to most western superhero comics.

All that being said, this is just an enjoyable show if you are into action and violence. The vibe is super cool and the animation is fluid giving some of the most intense fight scenes I have seen in a whlie. This show will help break up the Japanese anime viewing experience if you are watching multiple shows at once and things start to feel monotonous. Looking forward to this becoming a long-standing series

what if ninja with modern technique and tools instead kunai or shiruken, or maybe a log teleport? this is what ninja kamui coming for, with modern technology and modern technique, main character wipe out all enemy with their ninja skills, even the causes of main character revenge is generic, but i love how the choreography fight in this anime is 'peak'.

therefore the enemy is a big company that using ninja for their guard for expanding their technology while targeting the main character, higan must fight all enemy subordinates before fight the leader, this is what make this anime great, they will serve a ninja fight ... in every higan fight with modern weapon and technique

Revenge story with a very mid storyline on why things are happening there is some lore for the world the show takes place in but its not that great basically there are cooler looking cheap version of naruto's ninjas in this world but more evil/criminal and they are a secret organization

Story & Characters:
Ninja Kamui is a series that doesn't hesitate to discriminate between characters; The more you watch the more blood is spilled and it becomes almost unpredictable the deeper we delve into the identities of key players in the series. Although the series is short lived we unravel the intertwined fibres of a ghost organization and the big wigs of AUZA technology corporation and their impacts on our main character Joe. The story itself tells us of a harmless way of life gone wrong and how one man's vengeance accumulated to affect and involve several parties to which eventually spiralled into international deployment. I ... had a lot to unpack while watching this series because the main scenario takes place while other scenarios are in action which makes the story 3 Dimensional and intense. One thing I will say, toward the end as we begin to unfold the clues and instances surrounding the mysteries of the ghost organization the story starts to slow down as if we've caught up to the present. The pacing could definitely be improved so that it leads to a more satisfying and unapologetic climax. Overall, I am pleased with how the story presented itself in a non-linear narrative and along with characters that were very complex in backgrounds this series has done well to portray itself beyond the typical dark revenge plot anime series.

Art & Sound:
It has been a while since a series has used multiple methods of art and animation to emphasize the storytelling and choreography of its action. The fast paced animation suits the unrefined dogfights shown between Joe and his foes especially with the varying views and angles used. At points where first person perspective was used, it made the movement of the scenes a lot more urgent and human-like. At first, the use of CGI was jarring when it was used during Joe's initial fights, I appreciate that in Joe v Zai they reverted back to mainly 2.5D or 2D animation as it felt more genuine to the style portrayed in the scenes and shot styles.

The music used is more of western electronic and suitable for the western punk style of the series. The voice acting is of high quality and mimicry of American characters were fairly well executed by Japanese VAs. Overall animation and sound are on par or on a higher standard compared to anime released of this season.


Enjoyment & Overall:
It would be foolish of me to exclude the action sequences that blessed this series. The fight scenes carried a lot of substance and the fact that there was a party one step ahead in terms of movement and finesse for a change instead of the main character was a sight to see. Of course knowing the main character would have a sense of plot armor, this felt different as a lot of the supporting characters had a subtle sense of urgency fighting against time. Overall, really enjoyed the series - entertainment but also immersion to the story and characters as well.

Afro Samurai, Samurai Champloo, Boondocks, and Metal Gear. If you like those series or can appreciate quality fight choreography and animation, you will love this show.

For a show to reach above average, it needs to focus on a something and do it very well. For Ninja Kami, it's the action. You should watch an action show for the action. If a series tries to do everything, it often fails in some area.

If you are a child who needs lolicon pandering and lewd fan service, this bloody action show won't be for you. If you're an adult who grew up on Toonami and Adult Swim and ... likes action, you will love this show.
