This is one of those ideas that sound good until you think about it for 3 seconds.
The Guild receptionist wants to live a quiet life and achieve tenure. She just happened to have a super duper 1 in 7 billion power, so she uses that to solo final bosses if adventurers take too long.
I don't usually do this but let me list the problems with this very premise:-
1. Just be an adventurer then. She doesn't even collect the drops for cash THEN complains about having a 30 year mortgage. I think those mega super hard to get boss drops you're ignoring would put

Your Feelings Categories Mar 28, 2025
I'll be direct with my review, this anime is **extremely boring**. The same joke is repeated over and over: a girl complaining about overtime like an employee who's been working for 59 years with two days left until retirement.
She has an **absurdly overpowered** ability, making everything feel pointless. The side characters? I have no idea why they even exist. The attempt at fan service? Completely unsuccessful. The scenes feel **dragged out**, and I had to watch at **2x speed** just to get through it. If I had to mention a single positive, it would be that the **opening and ending themes ... Feb 18, 2025
Girl cute. But that's all.
The premise sounded really cute, I was hoping for a nice slice-of-life about a guild receptionist trying to go about her work, perhaps maybe soloing a few bosses that is keeping her working overtime, as the title suggests. Nah, they just abandon that plot in episode 1, and it's just a straight up boring old fantasy anime. Not even a good one, it's got the most boring, stereotypical trash plot with all the tropes. It's a shame as the premise is interesting if it was developed in a different way. Here, you just get the MC going on party quests etc ... Jan 24, 2025
The Overpowered Quiet-Life Seeker Trope Strikes Again:
Once again, we’re treated to the classic "OP protagonist who just wants a quiet life but keeps getting dragged into chaos" setup. Honestly, at this point, it's a seasonal requirement for anime. In this iteration, we follow a stunningly beautiful protagonist who works as a guild receptionist. Unlike her battle-worn adventurer peers, she possesses an overpowered skill that allows her to effortlessly outperform even the strongest warriors. Her secret hobby? Quietly sneaking off to solo-kill dangerous bosses to resolve guild issues that disrupt her peaceful routine. Story and Setup: The premise is entertaining but painfully familiar. We’ve seen this concept countless ... Mar 31, 2025
You almost have to feel bad for Rie Takanashi because she's working triple overtime to make this show far greater than it has any right to be. GiruMasu is the kind of show that stacked all of its chips in one spot and luckily it ended up working favorably for it. What could have been yet another mildly entertaining slapstick monster of the week fantasy comedy ends up being a really fun experience all thanks to Takanashi's talent.
That isn't to say that GiruMasu is fundamentally bad or anything. At its core there's still a fairly decent, albeit very generic, show here. It ends up ... Jan 25, 2025
I May Be a Guild Receptionist, but I'll Solo Any Boss to Clock Out on Time is exactly what it sounds like, and it sounds like an interesting idea, until it doesn't. Cool, the MC is not only a receptionist, but also a woman...but what does that really change? She's still the most OP character here, and we hardly ever see her work as a receptionist past the first episode.
plot: Alina Clover works as a guild receptionist, but has a secret...she goes to dungeons and one shot the bosses because she's tired of the parties taking too long to clear them. She hides her identity when ... Jan 31, 2025
A very fun and light fantasy with an refreshing protagonist who's secretly annoyed with work.
The show quickly got a laugh out of me in the first episode, and continues to have humorous dialogue. Both English and Japanese voice work have been exceptional and sell the show's light humor. This show is operating in the realm of a gag manga, where the hero can summon a magic hammer and smash away a problem. It gives some simple world building about a hierarchy of abilities to explain some things, but I sincerely doubt there will be anything of substance for people looking for content on cool abilities and spells ... This anime fails on so many levels that it ultimately betrays its own synopsis.
The ultimate scam, it sells you a product you're interested in, only to deliver something completely flawed. We were supposed to get a story about a receptionist for an adventurers' guild in a fantasy world. One of the most recognizable but least explored figures in the genre. The guild is one of the most iconic institutions in any fantasy world, so getting to know its workings, structure, and hierarchy, with a bit of added comedy, was what it promised. It ended up giving us yet another One-Punch Man clone of the super-strong ... Feb 28, 2025
Only those who are or have been civil servants know how good this anime is! That's the feeling!!! The situations that mix everyday events from the real world mixed with the reality of a fantasy world and the fact that the protagonist only sinks deeper into her "sad" reality make the anime even funnier! Although it doesn't reinvent the wheel in a genre that is already as overused as fantasy, the anime, with its delicious animation quality, the characters, which despite having their clichés are interesting and the story make it something interesting to watch. Add to that the beautiful opening and the cute ending

Came because of Cloverworks, left with utter disappointment.
This anime is just another slop that is produced every season, with a similar plot that is chewed over and over time and time again. What this anime is good at is creating it's own feedback loop: 1. MC complains about overtime -> 2. Unpaid labor through boss fights -> 3. MC enjoys life -> 4. Repeat. and; 1. The opportunity of a better job -> 2. MC refused -> 3. MC complains about overtime -> 4. Repeat. The anime abruptly abandoned its unique selling point midway through the first episode, undermining the very elements that initially set it apart from other ... Mar 7, 2025
This anime completely fails, because it trips over itself trying to get the premise to work, while wilfully ignoring the plethora of plot-holes it's creating along the way.
Our protagonist, Alina, works as a receptionist in an adventurer's guild. This is initially interesting, because it's not really an angle we see all too often in the fantasy or isekai genres. Then, because of supposedly noobie adventurers that frequent her guild, she regularly has to do overtime to keep on top of her workload in order to lead the "slow life" (a cliché in isekai shows) she desires. She eventually gets fed up of this, prays to ... Feb 7, 2025
OP is a banger of all time, but most aspects of this show are simply less than what you can find elsewhere. I would expect a lot of people to be turned off of it quickly, and yet I'm still watching it? I guess... if you've seen any of the other mid Anime with cute guild receptionists that are just there to glaze the MC, there is definitely some fun to be had here.
Main appeal for me is Alina the MC's delulu decision to give two shits about her low paying, annoying job that she absolutely cannot wait to clock out of but constantly has ... Mar 28, 2025
I May Be a Guild Receptionist, but I'll Solo Any Boss to Clock Out on Time — It's not just adventurers who need their rest time, but pay respect to the people working at the Adventurer's Guild too...they deserve all the breaks.
In the fast-moving pace of reality, you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone that tries to say that "I need to work overtime just to finish the never-ending work that's on my desk!", because let's face it: overtime is a bitch, and it'll control your working career until you choose to either ignore it or face the scythe of death a.k.a death stares from superiors ... I was pleasantly surprised by how enjoyable this anime turned out to be. The concept of a guild receptionist secretly being an overpowered adventurer was a fun and refreshing twist. Alina, the main character, was very likable—her dedication to finishing work on time was both amusing and relatable. Her solo boss fights were definitely the highlight of the show, offering some cool action moments with solid animation.
I also thought Alina and the other female characters were adorably cute, which made the show even more charming. I was especially happy to hear Rie Takahashi (Megumin’s voice actress from KonoSuba) voicing Alina—it was a perfect ... Mar 29, 2025
The promise: A series about a receptionist who will do anything to prevent herself having to deal with overtime.
The delivery: A series about yet another overly powerful character who nonsensically destroys every obstacle simply because it is an obstacle. Very little character growth, very little change from episode to episode. The titular receptionist character rarely performs duties as a receptionist during her screen time. Of the 12 episodes, approximately 3 have even a single frame of her behind the counter at the Guild. It's not an isekai per se, but if you've ever seen one before you've seen all the core components of this series. The ... Mar 27, 2025
This show is dumb, like REALLY dumb, the whole premisse just makes absolutely no sense, but its fine as long as the story has a good explanation for it... to bad it doesn't
This anime that has a name so long I refuse to look it up for this review has some of the most generic world-building and plot, some of the most bland characters both personality-wise and design wise, and a main character that has a fun personality for about 2 episodes until it becomes gimmicky and repetitive. I'm sure everyone will point this out in other reviews but Alina being a receptionist makes absolutely ... Feb 1, 2025
This show is okay-ish at best. The art style and animation are better than your average isekai/fantasy, but I wouldn't recommend it to everyone because of how trashy and predictable it is. Yet somehow, it’s the highest-rated fantasy anime this season, and I honestly don’t understand why.
The first two episodes might hook you in, but after that, it turns into a generic, predictable, and trashy show. The fights aren’t even that impressive—she just ends everything with one hammer shot. How unique... The MC is overpowered but stupid, and the entire premise makes little to no sense. Even if you overlook that, there’s nothing much else ... Mar 28, 2025
Has there ever been a more relatable anime premise than a character being willing to do ANYTHING to get out of overtime work? For the life of me I can’t understand why Girumasu didn’t get more popular because this show was so fun. Alina balancing life as a receptionist with a secret identity to clear dungeons and expedite her work, the romantic subplot, the great animation and freaking Takahashi Rie voicing Alina this was great and one of my favourite shows of the season. I think it struck a nice balance between Alina trying to survive her job, helping out adventurers and slice of life

Absolutely great, light, and funny. This is a relatable show if you've ever worked a job that got on your nerves or had bosses/managers you wish you could shut up. Most negative reviews I've seen about this show just seem like the reviewer never worked a retail job or experienced overtime stress.
The characters are fun, if a little one-note. You get some backstory and motivations for them as the show goes on which is nice. Especially with characters reacting in ways I'd actually expect someone to. Which is another nice thing when this genre can get stale with how it writes fantasy characters. ... Mar 28, 2025
Story: 1
Characters: 2 Animation: 5 Sound: 4 Enjoyment: 2 Overall: 2.8/10 Notes: What am I doing with my life...? I deeply regret picking this show up; it was the worst (amongst the shows I picked up) this season by far. Which... is crazy to say, considering I've also watched "Noble on the Brink of Ruin" this season, but here we are. Towards the last couple of episodes, there were times that I was watching this at 2x speed, and honestly even times where I was watching at 4x speed, and anxiously watching the time left for each episode. When even speeding up the episode's playback speed wouldn't work, I'd distract myself ... |
