I started watching this anime as a sports anime, but now it doesn't feel like a sports anime anymore. It feels like all the players are Superman, and some Supermans are playing tennis. Every player has not once, not twice, but many methods of playing tennis.
There are some good sports anime you can watch other than this. But if you still want to watch The Prince of Tennis, then you can watch the OG one. That one is better than this. i think the series is starting to lose it appeal for me. when i started watching the pot series right from the beginning, i know this anime is not the kind of realistic sports anime however it wasn't too bad to watch so i continued watching.
but somehow from the start of the u-17 competition, it was getting way over the top for some reason. i wonder if they are trying to "best" the original tv series so the characters' tennis skills or moves have to be more "level up", or they are just running out of ideas so they just produce whatever they can ... |
