This is a review of the anime as a production; not the actual show. Its sad that this is a common issue.
The show was fine. A solid 6/10 cutesy yuri. You can bump the score up because it wasnt yuri baiting; its explicitly about girls dating. You can bump the score up even more if you want because there didnt seem to be any fan service. It respected the characters and the audience by not having perverted shots or compromising positions for comedy.
By all means, i think i would have enjoyed this show.
But there was an issue with the production thats common these days. They ...

This is truly amazing. Please don't listen to people who are commenting on what kind of romance this is without even watching it(only three episodes are released yet!). And as a girl who loves girls, I must say that the first three episodes already captivated my heart and despite watching 100's of anime before this (it's true, you can check my profile), this is actually the first time I'm writing a review on something, and the reason: this seems truly underrated and I don't want you to miss out on this due to it not having enough reviews from people who DO appreciate this. Of ...

Whisper Me a Love Song - What was supposed to be a wonderful adaptation, got absolutely ripped to shreds by haphazard production.

You know the drill: hyped series tend to get the adaptations that were supposed to be expected from, and if there's anything to learn from the AniManga industry in the post-COVID era, is that the industry itself will NEVER learn from their mistakes trying to pump more quantity than quality just to satisate their audiences, on top of having to spend and lose revenue over what is commonly sighted as "production delays". Case in point, one of the highly revered Yuri a.k.a Girls' Love ...

The show has a slow start, and you might think it is full of yuri tropes and cookie-cutter characters. It seems many people watched 3-4 episodes and dropped the show because this is exactly how it feels. BUT! But it gets better. It gets significantly better. The plot thickens, the characters start showing deeper emotions, and finally characters' backgrounds begin to matter. The episodes 7 and onward are full of raw emotion, and the episode 10 left me in tears. Admittedly, the characters are still a bit 2D, but the story development is remarkable. The animation quality for the last episodes dips a bit, but ...

Naturally I would give this show a 7 because its a very good show. I haven't read the original material but unless they do adapt it, I hear they will not be animating the summer festival which all this has been leading up to. I have no idea who would make such a stupid choice, long story short, if you wanna continue and watch episode 11 and 12, you have to read the manga. If you are watching it after the show has aired, I feel obligated to let you know that this is one of the worst mishandlings of a shows adaption I have ...

ok so my final thoughts on sasakoi , it's no secret that the production quality of this anime is really low , although they might have slightly put some more effort into the last 2 episodes , but more than that, I want to talk about the content , what sasakoi is as a story and what it shows and how , it's everything an average yuri is like, and it's what I expect a yuri to be at its status quo, in fact, sasakoi is so much of a vanilla yuri that it could be used as a ground 0 to compare with other ...

When the little things, spark and sparkle into something truly breathtakingly beautiful.

If you want a top tier Yuri anime, that is filled with sweetness and delight. This will be the show to enjoy, and watch.

What I really love about it, is the pacing of the writing. It doesn't just throw in them together, as if it's shoehorned in right away just for the sake of it. Instead it's written at a reasonable pace, that keeps attention, and makes you actively enjoy and want for the ship to boot. What adds extra too, is that both sets seem like genuine people. Making the ...

Whisper Me a Love Song. THIS is the anime that I was probably most excited about at the beginning of 2024 aside from Solo Leveling. And I made that known in my MAL Blog Post. Bloom Into You was the closest comparable and that series is extremely near and dear to my heart - it's even on the same streaming platform - HiDive. But man, as everyone else has mentioned, the production issues this series had created so many issues for what probably should have been an easy 8 or 9/10.

Words cannot even begin to express how I feel about how ...

Honestly, I'm enjoying the characters, they're really cute, and the romance is wholesome.
The overall story is great, and all of this can be attributed to the author.
The studio which is adapting it is making a mess of everything else.

Cuts/animation 5/10
The overall animation itself is pretty fine, not the best, not the worst.
It's at a level you'd expect from an average highschool show, nothing to critique, nor is there anything to shout "Hurrah" for.
Does have its cute moments
One of the biggest eyesores of this show though, is the 3rd grader powerpoint cuts they constantly make.
It's like they're trying to be fancy, but it's really not, the ...

I just can not recommend this.
As others said before it's very reminiscent of "Bloom Into You", but it's just worse in every aspect.
The characters are absolutely forgettable and the goody two shoes main character is repelling. Zero depth whatsoever.
The romance part feels carbon copied off of the show I just mentioned, but worse.
Animation budget was probably really low with the amount of zoom-ins, and it hurts the show even more since everything else is already boring as fuck.
For a show where music is a central point, the OST falls completely short.

I fell for the yuri bait, since yuri shows ...

Sasayaku You ni Koi wo Utau is one of my favourite manga series. The sweet, slightly "dramatic", and wholesome story, coupled with great art style, are all contributors to why I love this series. I also thought that the characters were relatively well-written in the source material. When I heard that this is getting an animation, I was excited to see the characters finally come to life.

I really wanted to like this animation, but I can't. From the first PV I had my suspicions that the art used in this anime will drop in quality as the episodes aired, and I am not glad to ...

?Contrary to the title and all the descriptions, this story is not about the love of two girls, not about a school group and not even about her conflict with her rivals. In fact, almost the entire plot consists of the problems of minor characters and incredible efforts of the main character to solve them to the detriment of the theme, which was still stated as the main one.

So there's no love here? If Himari fell in love not with Yori but with her songs, and the last episode ended very stupidly, then the answer is obvious. It's all very naive, ridiculous and more like ...

So this ended up getting a lot of hate because of the struggles with the production quality. And that's fair. Good animation is important to me when I consume anime, so it hurts my soul when something that could be so beautiful becomes offensive to look at.

But I think a lot of peoples' attitude towards Sasakoi is frustration with it not living up to the highest standards of quality compounded with the 6 month delay to finish up the broadcast. After re-watching the whole show in 2 sittings before finishing the final 2 episodes, I felt a lot better about it than I did ...

Being a big fan of the manga, I was really excited for the anime debut of Whisper Me a Love Song. Unfortunately, my experience with it was pretty mixed.

Production:
Let’s get the obvious out of the way—yes, like most people, I was disappointed by the production quality. I’m not usually someone who needs top-tier animation to enjoy a show, but the issues here were hard to ignore. The art often felt raw and unfinished, like I was watching some kind of fan edit. It’s a shame, because the manga is one of the prettiest series I’ve ever read. The long delays in production didn’t help either—understandable, ...

I was excited for this considering the overall lack of yuri anime, but unfortunately this was quite disappointing. Extremely low production quality and nonsensical transitions aside, the characters fall flat. They have little to no depth, and their interactions are very surface level. They have a few quirks and such, and that's about it. Only one late-introduced character has any notable flaws, so naturally there is very little character growth, and the emotional arcs that the two main characters go through is drawn out and rather unrealistic. It's difficult to feel any kind of connection with for anyone, and when things start getting more dramatic ...

I broke the rule of 3 and went a little further but ended up not continuing, the story is slow and the direction seems to follow the same way without focusing much on the secondary characters that would be important to maintain a certain pace, the protagonists are still discovering themselves and this is something progressive and maybe that's why I didn't feel much charisma from them, dialogues are not very interesting and don't keep you hooked for long, the animation is good, maybe later I'll come back and finish watching it but for now it's dropped, if you have time to spare and like ...

Whisper Me a Love Song: great music, not baiting, and half decent characters ruined a bit by production issues.

It's a common issue nowadays to see decent anime be run into the ground a bit by production, but this show definitely got the short end of the stick. I like the characters although they are a bit one dimensional. The music the bands play is great and I personally would add it to my playlist. I genuinely do like the romance of the main characters and like that we get to see them be together in the show as well. I think as far as yuri ...

If I'm writing a review it's because I just watched one of the best or one of the worst anime I've ever seen and 'Whisper Me a Love Song' meets that criteria:
Pure dogshit.

My God-given calling in life is to sift through the wastelands of tasteless yuri anime so that YOU don't have to, and I truly cannot believe that I had the psychological capacity to slog through this entire series. These were some of the longest 12 episodes of my life.

The first half of this series is a mirror-image knockoff of Bloom Into You (a yuri series that's actually worth your time) and the second ...

This anime was infamous in 2024 for its production issues, and it is no wonder there are a lot of negative reviews. But is it really a bad anime? Not exactly but it's borderline.

§ Overview

When Kino Himari attended her high school freshman opening ceremony, she was enthralled by this particular performer, Asanagi Yori. When Himari finally gets a chance to talk to Yori, Himari confesses that she 'fell in love at first sight.'

Confused with the confession, Yori considered it and reciprocated. Little did she know that Himari did not fall in love with Yori as a person but in her talent as a singer ...

I can tell that people only like this because it's yuri romance and not because it is a good romance. It's mindless romance, consumed like one would watch a cheesy, stale romance movie and forget about it as soon as the credits roll.

If I had to compare it to another yuri, I'd say it's a worse copy of Bloom into You, with a similar idea, but even worse animation quality.

The animation is a gamble between good or bad, the moment you notice how often they compensate the lack of animation with panning and zooming stills, you can't unsee them anymore.
As well as fade ...
