Similarities - Both have a medieval era village sort of setting - Both involve a character ( Or characters in Uta's case) with animal ears and tail - Both have a long-distance adventure feel to it - The main character pair in each anime have a normal-looking guy and a animal-like female - The Main pair are surrounded by a colorful cast Differences : - Spice and Wolf is more centered around economy and merchants, while Utawarerumono is more centered around the main guy (Haku) and his adapting to the world he is thrust into - Utawaremono has a larger cast of main characters the Spice and Wolf does

As the first season of spice and wolf, this second one looks similar in more than one way with Dantalian no Shoka, a man meets a woman _someway special_ consumed by solitude for a long time and decides to travel with her for an ultimate goal , a merchant travels or a chase for strange books , both takes part in a great adventure involving intelligence, supernatural and fantasy ( well Spice & Wolf have more fantasy ), let's enjoy the two shows.

Both are good romantic tales, so if you're a girl under 12 - this is for you.

Each entertain with drama and comedy relief, while also surrounding its story's respective characters and plot points among microeconomic concepts, game theory, innovation, or entrepreneurship, in a pre-Renaissance European-type setting. Dialogue-heavy and rich in commentary about human psychology, the two anime offer a lot of substance in terms of character interaction, and will please those who muster the patience for slow-burning (but ultimately rewarding) productions. If you enjoyed the intellectualism of Spice and Wolf, then you'll be in good company when watching Ascendance of a Bookworm.

- Both contain trade and travel in a medieval, large scale world - Both contain kemono best girls, with ears and tail (Tate: Tanuki, Ookami: Wolf) - Both contain interaction with common people, as compared to heros and nobility - Both have a plot which is driven by both individual decisions and world-level external factors outside the influence of the protagonists - Both contain a human-kemono love story

Spice and Wolf II reminds me of Densetsu no Yuusha no Densetsu. In both cases there is a boy who meets girl. It is in the same time but in DNYND is magic involved. Both are good animes in which the two main characters fall in love with each other but not comepletely. Both are aslo adaptations from a novel. And the main characters in both anime have almost the same characteristic features. The drama and romance has almost the same impression. If you like one I really recommend you to watch the other

Unlike the majority of the recommendations on MAL, this is going to be a one way recommendation only. After completing Code Geass R2, you may feel a void in your heart. What to watch now? I want to see more of Lelouch!! Well, worry not, fellow anime fans. Spice and Wolf will give you an alternate universe sequel in "Code Geass after story", with a few differences. Lelouch lost his geass power and turned into a merchant (with the same CV), and CC has been replaced with Karren's voice, and turned into a cute wolf girl? The two of them will continue the journey on their  read more

Both have the same feel between the 2 main leads in the way there relationship develops and there interactions.

The often playful antics of Holo are very similar to those by Nodame in Nodame Cantabile. Additionally both of the main male characters in Spice and Wolf and Nodame tend to reject the presence of the growing relationship between themselves and the female protagonists of the animes.
