Worldbuilding - "the process of constructing a world, originally an imaginary one, sometimes associated with a fictional universe." These kinds of shows are usually set in a fantasy and/or sci-fi world, and excel at establishing & showcasing the rules/history/economy of their fictional universe. List was created through collective data from multiple websites of people's answers as to what shows are considered to have great world building.

Just as the title says, anime about food and cooking that are worth your time. Partner to my manga list.

Obviously, not every gourmet anime is on this list- I deliberately left off ones that I just don't like. Sorry, not sorry- you can message me if you think I've made a mistake and I'll let you know why your fav is not on here.

it's basically the "vibe" of the piece for you younglings (says the 18 year old). so the stuff here are things that make you FEEL the setting.

what results in it, is generally a mix of "music, aesthetic, direction, and sound design".

I was 50/50 on putting vanitas here, just cause I think the chibi comic relief can take you out, but I thought why not, there is space. I'll removed it when I need to start being more picky.

None of these will always make for a bad show, they aren't even necessarily a bad setting.

But even the best of them, may not be as interesting due to the sheer number of times we have seen similar settings play out.

So come with me, and I'll show you some shows or movies that have a one of a kind setting that chances are you have never seen before.

Note: shows like ID:invaded are here because the characters go to many unique settings despite the main main setting not being that special, in this case, the unique stuff are the ID.

A fictional world which feels alive and its circumstances are properly explained. Details about the citizens, the cities, the food, the monsters. Everything has a background and a meaning in its existence. The 'rules' and regulations and even the social status of the world are thoroughly explained. A world where you can immerse yourself in.

They don't have to look like a monkey, but they do need to be funky.

Eden's Zero won't be returning to Netflix as it seems the sequel's rights went over to Crunchyroll, I'll update the list if the next Hathaway Flash Gundam films are slated to release on Netflix. We now know the film cast for the Scott Pilgrim film will return to its anime adaptation by Science SARU, so far, we don't know if it'll even be added to the MAL database like other IPs supposed "anime" adaptations, in quotation marks because Netflix can call it anime all it wants but some don't count.

Anime series with great worlds, that may not have the best plot.

Series that involve cooking and good food. The way to a person's heart is through their stomach and what more to fill the stomach but with comforting food. Not necessarily centered on food but there are moments when food is really good and appreciated.

Comedy, Iyashikei or Slice-of-Life that might lift your spirits!

Anime that are adjacent to Trigun or what many Trigun fans are (or might be) into as well (personal guesses to be honest so take this list with a grain of salt)

These are shows that I believe have an extremely high chance of being absolutely amazing. Not just a mild maybe, shows that I can assure you with 90% (right now it's closer to 50%, but don't worry we'll get there... probably) accuracy, that are going to be anywhere between great to instant classics.

Pluto _ Masterpiece

PHOENIX: EDEN17 _ It was good, But honestly, didn't leave up to the hype I put on it. A definitive L on my part.

Great Pretender: Razbliuto _ I have yet to see it, and that is true for too many people. This had horrible marketing.

Frieren: Beyond Journey's End - It is literally the highest rated anime on the website

The Apothecary Diaries - Fantastic show

The Grimm Variations - It was pretty good, but I'll call it a miss, cause It wasn't anything mind blowing. Though to be fair to me, I was under the impression that clamp was also doing the story, not just the character designs.

Kingdom Season 5 - I mean, I haven't seen it, but from the score it seems like a hit to me
