Asience: Kami wa Onna no Inochi

Look how far we can go with expensive anime adverts. Beer is for the time with the ones closest to you. Shampoo for when the hair needs its own bath time. Take your pick. 

Two samurai themed 1 minute TV ads with outstanding art direction, high quality animation and historical themes. Great art work for mundane products: instant noodles and hair shampoo. I'd watch a show or movie "based" on the art styles any time. 

Despite the obvious difference in length, I felt that these two anime were very similar in both art style and atmosphere. Also, both of these anime touch upon the themes of impossible love. 

Hairy Tale is an advertisement, however it and Hana no Kage share the same mood. Both are romantic and somewhat sad stories of forbidden and disapproved love affairs of the past. In both the atmosphere is created by flowing hair and falling leaves and petals. And, more than that, both are very short but grasping beautiful. 

Both the art of Hairy Tale and Mononoke are inspired of traditionnal Ukiyo-e and they're both great tale of samurai, trust and betrayal, love and hatred.... well, not quite Hairy Tale is about shampoo, but whatever, if you forget about the two last seconds it looks great and all.
