Preliminary Spoiler
Jul 27, 2023
Preliminary (13/27 eps)
If you've come this far then you've already ignored or neglected all the "it doesn't make any sense"part, now this part of baki is great.
Animation:-
The use of CGI is reduced and fights are more drawn animated (if you know what I mean)

Characters have huge development in such short time and you'll get goosebumps when watching the development.

This is a spoiler free review and i just gotta say that this season is the best compared to all I've watched, just amazing.

The story for non manga readers is really unpredictable , I got surprised so many time , you'll get hooked to the ...

Having finished this season I have to say, this anime was a blast. Maybe this will sound a bit contradictory but, this anime is not the best I have seen, but it's definitely one of the funnest. Especially the second part of this season I enjoyed immensely.

Interesting characters, compelling story, excellent animation, fitting sound effects are all there. This all combined with Baki's unique style of over-explaining everything make this show an unforgettable experience for any action/martial art anime enjoyer. Of course, dynamic fighting sequences, innovating (fabricated) fighting moves and styles, funny expressions, super-detailed masculine figures and crooked jaw lines are all include in the ...

Mixed Feelings
Baki has always been a bit of a mixed bag for me. I think it peaked in terms of interesting dynamics and having multiple incredible fights back during the Great Raitai Tournament Saga two seasons ago, and even then, this is mostly just a fight fest. Absurd body proportions, detail on crazy move sets, and any excuse to fight are the name of the game, and I honestly don’t think this series even does that best (I prefer the Kengan series).

From here on, I'll break this review into two halves, one coming from the first half of the season and the other coming from the ...

As a Baki fan that was dream come true moment, i still remember the first time i watch de 2001 anime and hope for YEARS that Baki got a new one and since 2018 we are finally getting it.
The new season adapts the "Son of Ogre", so we have Prison Arc, Pickle and the Father vs Son match, i will review each one in a minute, but first let me say what improved overall:
Animation: The weird CGI is completely gone(Thankfully) and since the Raitai tournament the animation only improved, so it is a major point.
Soundtracking and Voice acting: I watched both the Japanese and ...

BIG MEN DOING MAN SHIT has reached it's peak. It's zenith. It's culmination. Such kino, such artisanship, such masterclass. The pinnacle of what it means to be a man. The best our species is capable of. Masturbation became obsolete because of this. Microsoft Edge was allowed to Macrohard Cum thanks to this. Pack it up boys, this is the best it's ever going to get. It's only downhill from here.

Now, if you're this many seasons into Baki, you should already know what to expect (if this is the first season you watch, the fuck is wrong with you??). This season delivers on everything we love. ...

Baki is always such a wild ride. Despite the plot and the animation being objectively terrible, I still had a great time and watched it through to the end. Even when most of the animation is sliding still images across the screen with voice-over, it manages to cultivate hype second to none.

This season does not quite beat the previous two seasons, my favourite is still the Raitai saga, followed by the prison season. However, this season is still a great instalment.

My rating it a 7 is not based on my enjoyment, but as a critic, I can't give it any higher based on enjoyment alone.

Hanma Baki: Son of Ogre 2nd Season is the culmination of the Baki series, the ultimate masculine power fantasy wrapped in a fever dream of excess and ridiculousness.

Animation / Art / General Visuals - 9/10
-----------------------------------------------

A lot of people might point out at the animations of Baki aren't that impressive, as they're often using a lot of still shots instead of constant fluid motion. But to me, this style adds value, not takes it away. Attacks feel weighty and the extreme muscularity and over the top expressions of the characters make for a great spectacle.

The style of Baki is what I like the most. The male ...

In the previous season's teasing, authorities uncover a man frozen from the dinosaur era for millions of years. Thawing him out reveals a formidable fighter who once battled and conquered dinosaurs. In the quirky, buffoonish humor typical of the show, they name him Pickle. Renowned fighters like Retsu and Jack Hammer, excluding Oliva and Yujiro, engage him in combat, resulting in significant losses. Baki ultimately faces Pickle in the series' expected climax, though the outcome remains ambiguous.

The second part introduces two arcs: Retsu's quest to conquer the boxing world and the impending father-son showdown. Regrettably, the first feels like filler, elongating the show unnecessarily. The ...

Son of Ogre Season 2 might be long and sometimes slow, the amount of fun this anime provides is undeniable. The art style isn't necessarily impressive, but you can't help but be astonished and mesmerized by the blood and gore as it presents itself. There are multiple arcs to pay attention to in this season, and they all are unafraid to hit the viewer with immense silliness. This anime is certainly grandiose and epic, but it's also quite funny and unserious.

This season plays out very straightforward, and doesn't hit you with too many surprises. It's just good old classic fighting anime that just goes as ...

Mixed Feelings
Preliminary (13/27 eps)
Here comes another installment of Baki, a series known for its intense gore and wtf moments. If you've been a fan of the characters so far, you might somewhat enjoy this season too, but there's a problem.

The issue lies in the fact that the Pickle arc contributes nothing significant to the actual storyline of the Baki universe. We've already had three seasons of Baki (excluding the older Grappler Baki seasons), all building up to the legendary fight between father and son. The last season, in particular, set the stage for this epic showdown, with Baki defeating the second-strongest man on the planet, leaving only Yujiro ...

Preliminary (15/27 eps)
As the newer Baki seasons released they have been become more and more of a series told almost entirely through a narrative. What do I mean by this? With every fight or a particular event there is always an narrator over explaining it. Where this move came from (which isn't always bad), why he did this/that happen, what are we viewing, etc and this happens constantly. And honestly it just gets played out. The fights scenes are really mediocre and you always wonder if Yujiro is going to do something. I watched this because I watched the other Baki series and from a true anime ...

Preliminary (12/27 eps)
This anime series is seriously just getting worse and worse. While the first season was kept interesting by a diverse cast of characters and interesting lore, the subsequent seasons have delved into nothing more than slideshows of fights, with most of an episodes time being taken up by over-exposition.

There is little to no fighting in this entire season. Rather, it's a series of sequences where will do a single move, a second off-side character will go "what just happened" and then a third character will go "I understand exactly what happened" and then a flashback sequence will start about the origins of said move and ...

This anime had me intrigued from the start, but as the episodes rolled on, my initial excitement turned into disappointment. I kept hoping for a deeper storyline to emerge, but alas, it remained a series primarily focused on relentless, often bewildering fights.

One of the main issues I encountered with this season was the lack of a cohesive narrative. While the previous seasons had some semblance of plot and character development, this instalment seemed to abandon that entirely. The show came across as a collection of random battles strung together with minimal context, leaving me longing for more substance.

Character development, a crucial element in any story-driven ...
