Otome Game Sekai wa Mob ni Kibishii Sekai desu

This is one of the shows I was particularly looking forward to this season, both the Manga and Light Novel are truly a great reads but they're not quite translated well into this adaptation. This stems from how they portray the main character, the rest of the story is nothing to write home about even in the Manga or Light Novel, but the main character Leon is what makes it an entertaining read. He's the perfect blend between a Naofumi(Shield Hero) who hates the world and situation he's put in, but is played as more of a Kazuma-like(Konosuba) character. It makes for a pragmatic asshole ... type character that you can't help but root for, unfortunately in the anime a lot of the little things that help build up that personality have been cut out, leaving him feeling very hollow compared to his Manga and Light Novel counterparts. Since how his character is written is honestly the only stand out thing from the source material which wasn't properly adapted, this ends up being pretty mediocre all around.

It is not all bad, but this anime is so gamergate it hurts to watch xD

+ it is so inconsistent I just failed to develop any expectations out of its world-development, I mean, it jokes about it anyway, because it is just a game, what a world am I talking about, but ... you can have a fantasy, just have a consistent fantasy.

Besides that, graphic is ok if a bit annoying, sound is ... ok, I tried to like it, but I failed to do so, characters are isekai at its worse, they get a role, they act it out without the regard for ... who they are, foes will pester, romantic interests will blush, comic reliefs will nonsence, it is not bad (most of the time), it is just nothing much. It reminds you how PtW feels like ... if you P. Do you feel bad already for buying victories with your noble privilege? Because I am totally doing it right now. And I feel bad for rubbing it in too much. This anime needs a protagonist instead of 2 antagonists. I miss The Faraway Paladin, he was such a decent fellow.

Anime is a show, which means the focus doesn't need to be on telling the story. Similar to manga and illustrations on LN, it is a fair point to compare how a series is being visually portrayed to the audience. I assume they were trying to emphasize that this series should have a bishoujo style, thus the difference between the main casts and the mob art style. Trying to conform to the theme is understandable, but I have to say that I don't like the style.

The story is the exact opposite of the traditional villainess genre. Or at least they tried to break down ... the norm to this type of show. Whether they managed to do it is something to look forward to as of the writing of this review. At least an effort was made to make this series not too predictable while keeping the blatant melodrama element of the genre.

Seeing the story from the point of view of a mob character is already a unique point. It is also appreciated how the show is paced to maintain each episode as having something new to add to the series. And I'm not talking about making everything into an isekai to make it distinctive.

What makes the character interesting isn't so much how relatable they are. By large, these people have some personality issues. Maybe more so with the protagonist. Seems the mob character is only the setting being put on him, rather than his only aspiration. So it is enjoyable to see whether or not he will put an effort to better his life.

Maybe it's just me, but I enjoy seeing in what other way the author can make me hate those seemingly unimportant side characters. I liked it when a show managed to draw the intended emotion from the viewers. Like when they show an obnoxious character, you get repulsed.

As bad as the art seems, I don't have that much issue with the CGI side. This series will have quite a lot of them, and so far, just from the opening animation and the few bits I saw in the aired episodes, it's decent. But again, even if this isn't an action-packed anime, combat choreography might be the downfall of this series. I just hope the studio will prove me wrong.

The sound direction of this series is okay. Nothing exceptional. Since the plot hasn't progressed that far, I can't say much about the range of the VA for this series. Like how a character sounded when angry compared to afraid. But as of now, I think they did a satisfactory job.

Whether you can enjoy this or not, probably yes if you usually watch isekai and want something new. Or you are of the few who want to see a non-shoujo villainess type of show.

Look, the manga is good. The adaptation, though… could have been better. And not only because of the obvious, ugly CGI from the latest episodes.

"The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs" is centered around Leon, the ultimate asshole that was reincarnated in his sister's dating sim game. Luckily for him, he's just a mob character, so he doesn't have to deal with the male harem of the game, which he hates; after all, they are just a bunch of useless and utterly annoying pretty boys. So he thought; yet, he is forced to go to the nobles' academy from the game, so he ... can avoid literally dying.

Oh, and… in this world, women seem to hold the power.

The anime follows the basic "reincarnated as a mob in an otome game" formula: the MC wants to live their lives comfortably, yet they become involved in the story; they use their knowledge from the game; they become close with the original main character of the game; they become powerful, etc etc. Like most works in this genre, it also has a twist: here, it is the main character, Leo. The shittiest egoistical asshole you could find in that whole fantasy world, a vulgar power abuser that doesn't give a fuck about anything other than himself, and… that hates getting promoted. Yet he gets promoted, and he hates it, and everyone else hates it as well because they hate him. He is just that much of an asshole.

Leon is, basically, the saving grace of this anime. Or, rather… of the manga. Because the adaptation doesn't do him justice. Of course, he is there for comedic reasons, like literally everyone else; however, he is also the main character and carries the entire entertainment on his shoulders (as the other characters are just hollow figures on a screen). We love seeing this asshole being the most annoying asshole on Earth (well, not really) and fucking up the frustrated students with his power. Well, that's if he actually has a character, aside from being a little shit with a big mouth. And it's pretty hard to see that in the anime. Wait, that's not entirely true; it is also obvious that he is actually a pretty smart bastard! And… that's about it. Thanks for tuning in, Leon will get more character development next time!

Maybe I'm a bit harsh. But then again, the other characters are just random stereotypes (aside from Angelica, she is pretty nice). We gotta have one good character at least, right? He is the main reason for the enjoyment that comes from this, after all. I mean, the story… is not that great or impressive, the pacing was pretty bad, and the animation has some flaws as well. It was pretty mediocre, really.

And the last episode was TRASH. The battle was a very important one in the manga, yet here… it was over in like 5 minutes? What the heck man… And the whole episode was also very rushed, it was awful.

In the end, "The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs" was disappointing. It wasn't essentially bad, as it was still somehow enjoyable; however, it did not reach the manga's potential at all. Not to say that the manga itself was oh-so-amazing, because it wasn't; yet it was way better. Truth to be told, I expected more.

Otome game is exactly the sort of generic isekai Power fantasy trash that everyone seems to hate. You know you have seen many of these before, there is a formula and a bit of a twist.
An isekai fan’s needs are easy to fulfill and are fulfilled quite faithfully in this anime this is an easy recommendation if you need any of the following.
1)OP protag who is relatively likable (But not distinct enough so that one can self-insert).
2)Harem, big tids, and beautiful chics. Not dense MC
3)Good worldbuilding but should also be a world that favors MC heavily.
4)Mecha (the twist)
5)harbinger of gender equality (shows no mercy to ... crazy fucks, male or female).

This is exactly the kind of fodder we isekai fans need to continue staying in our caves.

But if you want an actually competently produced show, please just drop this show and read the manga or LN, Yes I hate jumping on this train of “Manga is better”. But in the case of this anime. The anime is so garbage that the Manga (despite being a bit mediocre) seems like a gospel!
The character expressions are so well done in the manga, here it is as generic an isekai as the ones before it.
Let's just get into the review of this anime, ill keep it short.

Story (6/10)
Is quite good when talking about the source, in the anime however the pacing is downright horrible. They don't let you savor any good moments it's just one scene after the other. Most episodes end so abruptly you may wonder if the video got cut by mistake XD.

Art and animation (3/10)
they try to follow the source as close as possible in scenes that require less budget only. When a scene that requires high sakuga or budget shows up, cheap gimmicks like speed lines and terrible camera angles kill the moment. I do appreciate the fact that the mechs are drawn rather competently, but they use them as sprites to just fly across the screen with minimal to no actual movement. Broken mechs look more like Lego blocks than actual wreckage XD. They used only STILL FRAMES in one of the most anticipated Angie scenes (the punching one), it's a disaster. Art style is unique and I can tell they were trying for an Otome game-type styling but the characters look too shiny to the point they look like dolls.

VA and sound (6/10)
Rushed voice acting, with zero emphases on dialogues. The most hype scene of Leon versus the prince and his lackeys was delivered like it's a JAM speedrun dialogue-wise, with no zoom-ins, no powerful line delivery none of that good shit! (Makes you love scenes like Grisha and Eren from AOT) seem all the more legendary, Angie's and luxion’s Va do a good job however and you can feel that angie is noble by her manner of talk and delivery of lines.OP is alright music-wise. ED is just a lazy waifu showcase with a very out-of-place music choice.


Characters (6/10)
Enjoyable, sort of. the VA does kill a bit of the mood. But they do at least remain true to the source material. the main selling point is probably the anti-hero nature of Leon and the fact that character drama is a bit more natural and fleshed out like dealing with rejection, nobility and commoner issues, etc.


Probably just read the manga or LN xD, If you really don't want to give the first few a try and if you can handle this low-budget adaptation you may actually enjoy it more than I did.

1st of all, its not done so this isn't much of a fair review and it mostly pertains to the most recent episodes. The first few were alright nothing too crazy I'd even say maybe an 8. The most recent episodes (like ep 7-9) had me pulling my hair out and wanting to throw up and it feels like its just going to get worse until all of the sudden it gets better (cuz every light novel Andy comes out to say "just read the LN"). Just very dumb and frustrating moments developing and again it will continue to develop poorly until all of the ... sudden the misunderstandings are gone and happily ever after the anime gets better i guess. I guess until that happens ill keep it at a 5.

Already read what's currently out for the manga and it's really good, it's a very fun read. This on the other hand, is exactly as I had imagined it would be, mediocre. Not all the episodes are out yet as of writing this, but I don't think it's going to change that much from where it's currently at. The animation is really boring and lackluster, the characters look alright, but very lifeless. The MC's eyes looked funky during some parts of the 4th episode and the rest of it had some questionable animations at times as well, but it was still a pretty fun watch. ... The voice acting is fine and I find the personality of the characters to be enjoyable. The story isn't bad, but it could definitely improve (talking bout where the manga is at).

Edit: I actually found this to be very funny. You'll know if you watch it yourself, but there's a scenario in episode 6 (this is not really a spoiler) -where Angelica makes a comment on a girl's attire. If you look closely at it, then you'll notice that they changed it twice in the space of 40 or so seconds.

Overall, I'd say that it's pretty good, but if you like reading then yes, you should obv read the manga (preferably first) and then maybe watch the anime after (or vice versa).

At first i dropped this one because of how unfair male lead was being treated in the anime but later when i found out that situations get better in later episodes and he gonna get a small harem i jumped in it again ! well the situation did get better but the process was not that satisfying ! at least somewhat tolerable cause the male lead was not a coward unlike other harem protagonist ! The main problem was still there and that is the unfairness to the main lead ! in the last couple of episodes the story did get interesting and male lead ... is treated a bit bitter and he did somewhat got a pseudo cliffhanging harem ! The ending totally shows that there will be a next season and given the popularity of show it gonna have another season ! hoping at least there somethings gets better and male lead gets his harem he deserve! So as for me it's 5.7 stars/10 stars.. i don't know why when male lead gets beaten or defeated in an anime specially if it's harem and romance ones i can't stand it maybe because most of the harem and romance anime follows the same formula to beat the male lead unnecessarily for so called humor ,i don't know how this is a humor ! no offense to those who liked this!

Eh, Katsuragi Keima got you beat every day of the week at dating sims Leon… just saying.

Well, anyways, here’s your isekai about the protagonist tripping and falling down a set of stairs, only to be isekai’ed into the dating sim that he just beat, but this dating sim is a matriarchy, so he’s not overpowered at all, he’s actually a background character in a dating sim, except he has background knowledge of the game, so actually, he is overpowered after all. The show is pretty shallow overall, the politics, fights, and plot are all pretty mediocre, but the thing that stands out is the smugness ... of the protagonist (still not as smug as that Anya face though).

STORY: 12.3/25

The plot isn’t much to write home about. I view this as a sort of revenge story of sorts, of a mob character that is maltreated, and then unleashes his power on the world, being a scumbag to everyone, while saving everyone.

There are some inconsistencies, and some things I wished the story expanded on. The matriarchy in my opinion didn’t play enough of a role, as it quickly became obsolete after Leon became a baron and moved up in the society. Another thing I wished the story talked about was Marie’s identity. It was hinted that Marie could be Leon’s sister in the real world, and I wish they expanded upon that fact to make for more plot points. It’s always a plus when the characters in the real world are mentioned in an isekai, but not a lot of isekai series do that, which is unfortunate.

ART: 4/10

In short, I don’t like the character designs. The other stuff is fine, the action scenes are fine, the general art direction is fine, it’s just the character design that looked awkward.

MUSIC: 8/10

Sound direction was fine, and the openings and endings were good enough musically. Nothing very impressive, but still solid.

CHARACTERS: 12.5/20

The characters are actually decent. There is a fair bit of character growth to be seen, especially with Olivia and Angelica, with the former struggling with being overprotected by Leon, and wanting to be independent, and the latter, looking upon lower class people with more respect than before after meeting Olivia.

Obviously, Leon is an enjoyable character to watch. He takes upon the villainous role himself, but when he defeats those cocky nobles, it’s always a fun and satisfying thing to see. Cheap thrills that work, basically, is his shining point. The self-doubt about his role as a mob character is a bit annoying at times considering how powerful he is, but he’s still a unique character.

ENJOYMENT: 9.5/15

Has some good points, and some shallow and frustrating points.

Personally, I don’t really like the sporadic themes throughout, and the theme of the school much either, the people in the school just give off such a negative connotation, it’s hard to describe. The romance is there, because of course it is, and the action is fine overall.

OVERALL: 55.5/100

It’s an alright show, I just wish the plot thickened a little, and the animation was a little better, the plot and some characters come off as a bit shallow and underdeveloped, and if there’s ever a season 2, I would hope the plot gets built upon in a better way.

"Otome Game Sekai wa Mob ni Kibishii Sekai desu" is basically "All Routes Leads to Doom", but with a male protagonist reincarnated as an NPC.

The story revolves around a guy who gets isekaied into a Otome Game's magical world and sees himself being forced to use his knowledge about the game to deal with the problems being thrown at him.

Its mostly simplistic and generic, following a adventure comedy style, being very weak in the comedy aspect, but having a somewhat interesting mystery and a kinda relatable protagonist.

The world building also sounds interesting, being similar to Knights and Magic concept of mechas on a ... medieval world, but with less depth put into it.

What holds it up mostly as something different, is the unusual Mecha Battles in a Otome Game, but we still have to see how good they will be.

At least for now, sounds like a nice show to pass the time, but nothing deep or revolutionary, or that i would rewatch later

This is without a doubt the isekai trash you think it is.

And yet there was something something uniquely enjoyable about it…

The protagonist is a little bit more raw than most adding a charm to an otherwise typical plot.

For those familiar with Konosuba you can draw clear parallels between Kazuma and Leon (this show’s MC)

But really outside of that and a couple unique world-building elements this is a weakly animated show with face-palm inducing dialogue.

This is all to say, the show isn’t unwatchable. Just make sure you’re looking forward to mindless anime plot drivel with a fun protagonist and some quirks throughout. ...

In conclusion. It was kind of mindless fun, kind of want a second season. Wouldn’t recommend to most people.

The name of this anime is very long so I will call it Mob Otome. Mob Otome starts out with, as far as I can understand, being a comedic parody of isekais and otome games. The way it does so is also pretty clever. Our main character, now called Leon, is reincarnated in the world of an otome game as a background character. Leon absolutely despises the game for various reasons including its annoying characters, convoluted worldbuilding, absurd difficulty, etc. Leon plays the role of the straight man here, criticizing the faults of the world by just being the "normal" person in it.

As a resident ... of the world he hates, criticism of the otome/isekai genres is brought to the forefront by Leon's straightforward outlook on the characters and setting on this world. It shows how the Marie's (her role is the MC of the otome game) romantic interests are completely devoid of will and moronic. Their entire purpose is to fall in love with the MC for unbelievably stupid reasons. Not only that, but the 5 guys are completely fine with Marie being romantically involved with all of them at once. Meanwhile, Marie is manipulative and plays them like a fiddle for her own benefit. Watching this, Leon hits us with "is this how girls feel about harems?"

Yes. Not just girls, I would say that's what most people feel about these contrived harems. The characters are reduced to mindless robots that just unconditionally love the main character for contrived reasons. However, the problem here is that after Mob Otome criticizes this type of romance story, it happily indulges in it afterwards. I will grant that Leon's romantic subplot does have a "more reasonable" justification to it. However, it is still contrived and weakly justified in general. It does fall into the very stupid "savior and damsel in distress" dynamic that it criticized earlier. Therefore, Mob Otome fails as a parody because although it criticized a trope, it failed to rise above it, instead choosing to indulge in it.

But even if Mob Otome fails as a parody, how is it as a show? Well, it's still complicated. Leon occupies an entertaining character archetype. He is like Kazuma from Konosuba, the no-bullshit straight man who will happily take out his frustrations on the annoying characters. I would say, that is the most entertaining thing about the show. It feels very cathartic seeing annoying characters get punished. Furthermore, his frustrations with the otome game's world and him giving up on its stupid rules makes for an entertaining main character. He's not a deep one and I think Kazuma was done better in Seasons 1 and 2, but Leon isn't bad either as an anti-hero protagonist.

However, it fails on a lot of other regards. Leon is way too overpowered by default. There is absolutely no way he could lose. This makes the outcome of every battle/competition frankly very boring. There is the contrived romance mentioned above as well. Leon insists he "wants to stay in the background", but does everything except that. There is also no real justification to why he would want to be a "background character". The art style is boring and frankly, pretty bad. The villains are too much of assholes, but maybe that's in line with the concept of a really badly made otome game.

In the end, I am even unsure of how to rate it.

This is utter trash. But the good kind of trash. The kind of self aware trash that knows what it is, and hits the right notes to make me excited about how much of a glorious bastard he protagonist is.

Though, since I can give this exact review to two other shows, I'm honestly keeping the score between a six and 7seven stars. It's not going to be anyone's favorite, but it's some pretty damn decent entertainment.

This last sentence is just to fill out the unnecassarry (lol, not gonna spell check this word, studied english for six years and that's six years too many, still ... don't know how to spell that word lmao) character requirement MAL has.

While i like the manga, the anime adaptation is just painful to watch. Looks like a cheap adaptation which is probably just to promote the LN/Manga. They change the character design, they make it (too much)softer than manga.
The setting is become softer too. They change the mechas too. Too much changes.
I don't mind with changes but at least don't change it too much. I got excited when they announce it, now it just too painful for me to watch. They make the characters feels empty. I can't feel anything while watching the anime. They alter the setting too much that makes me feel like ... i'm watching an entirely different anime with Mobuseka setting as inspiration.
Their choices of Voice Actor/Actress are within my expectation except for Leon Bartford and his friends.

As a big fan of the manga, it hurts to see such a soulless adaptation. While I was sceptical of the VERY basic premise the protagonist turned every expectation I had on its head and proved to be a very likeable guy (Even though he was a malicious prick). That's why I was so disappointed to see him animated into a mostly bland nobody, where the manga focuses on Leon and his interactions with the fake world around him the anime sidelines him for boring isekai drama.

It's a real shame to think about what could have been, had the anime been given to a ... good studio with the time and budget to make a faithful recreation, instead of this mind numbing shit. Not that I'm parading the manga around as the pinnacle of isekai, it was just better on so many levels than the flavourless slop that this anime serves us.

To be honest I was not really expecting much from the anime with a bizarre setting within a dating game. Usually isekai anime likes these are usually hot garbage. But this anime was not that bad. If anything I enjoyed the hell out of it. Well the manga at least. This show animation to me was quite terrible. It is a combination of horrible animation and artstyle with a good story/plot line. After a few episodes I decided to read the manga instead. The characters in this anime seem somewhat generic except for the MC (which I personally love his sadistic personality), so most characters ... seem somewhat bland when they are not interacting with Leon/MC. Though their personalities are somewhat generic, I still enjoyed them. The plot and drama is something I felt astonished with. As I said I was not really expecting anything from this isekai like all isekai. So when they showed me a good plot with a ridiculous setting I was surprised. Overall I enjoyed this series but I definitely prefer the manga.

Trapped in a Dating Sim is a generic Isekai. Leon, the protagonist, gets teleported to another world after a pathetic death and that's it. There is no reason behind his reincarnation as some Isekai might have. The new world in which he now lives has little or no history. After all, it is a romcom game. The other characters have no personality, they are like pnj in a romance game. The fights are done with giant robots in armor. The animation is bad. However when I watched the anime at the end of each episode I wanted to see the continuation so much that the ... next day I thought I had stopped at the sixth episode but in fact I was already at the eleventh episode.

And that's because of Leon. His arrogant, proud and haughty personality brings satisfaction when he belittles and puts his enemies in their place. All while being comical. He's an a**h*le, but what's great is that he knows it and owns it. It's really nice to see him mocking his opponents while he imposes his superiority (maybe I'm a psychopath?). Every time you want to know what he will do next. Moreover I like this side where he doesn't want to be noticed, he sees himself as an extra and wants to remain so to live a peaceful life. Seeing how he manages his relationships while trying to remain an extra and the evolution of it is interesting. If you don't like the main character, then it will be difficult to like the anime.

To conclude, the plot of the anime is not crazy, the world where he lives has no history, the characters have no background and the animation is bad. But Leon makes up for everything. His character always makes us want to know what he's going to do next and seeing him behave like a bastard while assuming it is great and makes us love the character even more. The evolution of his relationships is well written. In short, I liked the anime. On the whole we are not bored too much, there is no scene where we just want to jump all because it is painful to die. The anime is a good surprise, I thought it was going to be an Isekai like the others, but it stands out a bit. I wasn't expecting anything and I'm not disappointed. I guess this is the worst of the best Isekai.

Of all the reviews I skimmed through I didn't see many or even one mention a very important fact to me and why I could enjoy this show as much as I did. This anime and the content it's based on could very well be considered a parody or even a satire of the isekai-genre.

So, how was the show?
It was HILARIOUS! It's so over the top and everywhere at once with an MC that just wants to live a peaceful life as a background character and it's that contrast that somehow makes this anime so enjoying to me. It is very much a ... show where you turn off your brain and just enjoy the ride.

Right of the get go you can tell whether you will like the MC or not. He's capable of being loved and hated at the same time and he's someone you'll love to hate essentially. He's not a good guy at all, that will become apparent pretty soon, but somehow likeable and relatable enough for you to cheer for him rather than every other character you have available to cheer for. Every other character, except for the MC's rival that is, is based on a stereotype cranked to 11. There's not much to say there except that there's interesting side-effects happening from the MC's interactions with the game's characters that we'll get to see both sides from. The antagonists, or rather the game's love interests, are as unlikeable as you would expect and even if they have stereotypical personalities cranked up to 11, they don't become too unbearable. The only exception is the main antagonist or rival or what you want to call her. She does a good job and got a little less screentime than I anticipated. Overall, the MC and his friends is what made me want to see more of this show

The story and world building is like mentioned a bit in shambles, as it should be. It is part of the comedy of the show and it somehow makes the world work enough for there to be a story to tell. The story told is also a bit interesting compared to other isekais. I very much enjoyed the implications of how the MC thought of the world and how that led to interactions with people that in the end caused some tension in the story. Keep an eye out for how the MC sees the worlds people and how he seemingly has trouble to adapt that he has gotten reincarnated into another world. This surprised me, as there suddenly was a bit of depth into this story that I only thought was a parody.

The overall quality of the production of the show was to be honest a bit meh. It wasn't too bad, but it certainly wasn't good. Some episodes suffered more than others, but overall the quality is sadly on point with the majority of shows nowadays.

If quality is a deciding factor on whether you will enjoy a show, then you might have a hard time enjoying this one. If however you enjoy shows where you turn off your brain and just enjoy the show for what it is, then you might enjoy it! If you enjoy parody and a bit of meta humor, then you'll love it! As for me, I enjoyed the show for what it is and it was a bit refreshing seeing this kind of take on the isekai-genre.

I loved the light novel and manga a lot so I came To watch the anime. I don't hate it, other than the animation and some character designs everything is pretty much on point, but it does feel a little less enjoyable than the manga and light novel, especially light novel where it just feels like the characters have more emotions. Leon is still great, he was pretty accurately adapted his evil smile and scummy attitude is enjoyable. The problem mostly feels in the female cast which are actually pretty good, they are not dumb and got a strong nature but they felt a bit ... soulless in the anime.
Overall I would say that if you have not read any other source material you will enjoy it, else you might get a little disappointed but you won't hate it.

As usual, we are introduced with another isekai just like every other season. Definitely did not get my hopes up when the anime adaptation was announced even though the manga is quite decent.

Story :
Since we can more or less figure out the entire plot of the story based on the title, it is definitely a surprise because the expectation is different compared to what we got. Instead of story about a guy building a harem in a shoujo otome game environment, we actually got a story about a supposed side character living in a world with worldbuilding that actually has different fantasy feels to it ... compared to other isekais and we get the extra bonus of mecha fights and airships making it a little more enjoyable.

Animation :
It is praiseworthy the fact that the mechas are mostly 2d animated and not cgi. However, the directing for the fight scenes are not exactly the best but worth watching (I will explain later in the manga vs anime comparison) especially the final episode where the mc fought the black knight even though it was a short fight.

Art :
The character designs are not exactly my cup of tea for me since the characters look like they are being glazed more than they need to causing certain scenes to be lacking because they stand out too much compared to the rest of the crowd. However, the good thing is that some of the backgrounds art are vibrant enough making such characters blend in naturally with the world.

Manga vs Anime :
First of all, the anime did a better job at fight scenes since the choice of panelling and the art in manga lacked movement so the readers like me cannot really make out what is going on in certain scenes. As for the other scenes, the manga did a better job since they give more impact towards the readers compared to the anime. Another thing I want to add is that character art in the manga looks more natural compared to the anime.

Conclusion :
The anime is worth watching but if you want to enjoy the story to the fullest, I recommend reading the manga instead or the light novel if you want and watch the episode that contains the fight scenes or watch clips of it.
