While the term "anime" is known to be an animated show produced in Japan, there is a wide range of items it may refer to. Another section it may be referring to is the most definitely overlooked part of animation, donghua, more likely known as Chinese animation.

Since it was produced in China, not Japan, it may have not gained as much attention, while it deserves no less than others. Here are a few you might want to check out!

Note that this list includes the main seasons, not side stories.

These are all Chinese animations that I’ve watched and loved, am currently watching, or am planning to watch. I hope you all find some shows you’ll like with this list. Some of these are my favorite series ever while others are just things I have an interest in. Enjoy!

Some lesser known Chinese Anime I'm going to check out. Lesser known on MAL, some are popular on YouTube, like Wanmei Shijie has millions of views.

These animes will make you fall in love... some will make you laugh, cry and wish for more.

I don't watch harem/reversed harem so if you are looking for one, you'll find none in my list.

These are either fantasy romance, slice of life animes with happy or at least perceived to be happy endings.

I'm not a fan of harem/bl/gl or ecchi anime... so if you're looking for one, you'll not find it in my list.

Top anime (in my opinion)
New in Winter 2024:

1. YUBISAKI TO RENREN, The story between Yuki (FL) who is deaf and Itsuomi (ML) who likes traveling around the world. They get to know each other and learn a new world
Adapted from a manga, the conveying of the meaning, atmosphere, character traits are well depicted in the anime

2. SOLO LEVELING, MC is the weakest hunter, one day he was trapped in a double dungeon, when he died, he was given the choice to become a player. When he got out of the dungeon and woke up in the hospital the quest window appeared, slowly he became the most feared and strongest hunter.
Adapted from a popular manhwa and novel that has been completed, the animation and soundtrack are good

3. MAJO TO YAJUU, MC is cursed by a witch, to be free from the curse, MC and his partner look for the witch who cursed him
on their journey they meet humans, other wizards, other sorcerers

Completed Series: Liang Bu Yi (Donghua)

Movie: Natsume Yuujinchou ishi okoshi to ayashiko raihousha, consists of 2 arcs, the first arc is about Natsume who helps a small demon to complete his task, the second arc Natsume helps his friend but he is visited by a strange stranger

"FLY" by MADKID (Sasaki to Pii-chan), MC is an office employee and meets a bird in a pet shop, it turns out the bird is "mahardika" who comes from another world, since then MC has moved between 2 worlds (the modern world and isekai historical), and it turns out that these two worlds contain magic

Top Anime Ending Songs of Winter 2024
1. "Hakuchuumu" by Raon (High Card S2), a continuation of card collecting where users can use the power of the cards, revealing the past of the characters and the origins of the cards
2. "Gift" by Kaori Ishihara (Oroka na Tenshi wa Akuma to Odoru) ML is a devil and FL is an angel, since their fight made ML lose, he has become FL's slave/servant
3. "My Factor" by Kento Itou (Tsuki ga Michibiku Isekai Douchuu S2) Continuation of MC's journey, in this season he becomes a teacher and there are problems related to the anti-goddess group
