This was a very pleasant surprise.
Normally, idol shows have an idol plot and that's it. But this one has a plot by it's own, outside of the idol thing. It is a mystery sorrounding a crime in which a robot killed a human. And with that premise, they did a veeeeery good story involving everything they show us in every episode (so, in the end, there are no filler episodes, even if you might think that way ).
The songs are amazing (and obviously they had to be, because Elements Garden is behind them xD) so not just the main plot is good, the music is

this is a really cute and heart-warming anime, i find myself enjoy watching it a lot!
it doesn't focus mostly on the idols stuff, but rather the stories of different characters and the relationship between humans and robots, each episodes is filled with humor, love and very emotionally sometimes. I find myself drawn to the characters, admiring their struggles and cheering them on in their successes. It is such a sweet and uplifting show that I absolutely adore. The stories is not too heavy, which is suitable for easy watching. Also the character's eyes are so pretty, man those vibrant colors and eyeliner is the best. Mar 29, 2023
While Technoroid: Overmind will likely stay overlooked by the majority of anime fans, those looking for either an under-the-radar music show or an intriguing Sci-Fi/Slice of Life anime should certainly check it out.
Another brainchild of Noriyasu Agematsu (a man perhaps best known for his other original creation Symphogear, and in general, no stranger to creative music shows) and featuring the stylings of his acclaimed group of composers Elements Garden, viewers can be assured of quality songs. The average Technoroid viewer will come for the music, and will likely not be disappointed. That being said, this anime has plenty of other hooks – in fact, ... Mar 29, 2023
You know what I always say about idol shows: it's nothing more than just a cash grab at a growing franchise...that no one bothers about it. Only the ones that do, make a splash, and for others like Technoroid, created by RUCCA, CyberAgent, Avex Pictures, and Elements Garden under its creator Noriyasu Agematsu, the brainchild of Fall 2021's mediocre showing of Visual Prison under A-1 Pictures, it's the umpteenth time that people in the West are saying: we DO NOT NEED more bullcrap shows like this. But Technoroid: Overmind, is a wee bit different, and is something that's more than what the average idol show

Truthfully, this is the first time I’ve ever finished an idol anime through and through, from beginning to end and coming across other idol animes, Technoroid : Overmind is completely different.
It isn’t your typical idol anime. This one actually has a really well story plot to it. The crime story that carried through but also showed each persons’ and even the androids’ struggles and backstories. Even though, pretty much every episode did make me cry and had me thinking it was definitely worth it. This anime has humor, happiness, sadness and a lot of emotions and if you’re looking for the sci-fi, crime stuff ... Mar 19, 2023
I don't know what's up with the other reviews, but I personally think that this is actually a pretty good anime. I also had mixed feelings at first because I'm not really the type to watch idol anime shows and I thought this was gonna be one of those 'one song for the whole entire season' LOL. But no, it's different every time they perform. I watched this in the bus because I was bored and wanted some pretty light-hearted anime stuffs. I didn't really pay attention to the voice acting. I mean, they are androids after all. Cobalt is just a different case, I

It is quite an interesting theme. I have not seen an anime, where androids/robots find feelings. It is quite new to me. Honestly, I do recommend it, but definitely not to people who dislike cheeky idol anime, it is fairly good. Yes, but.. honestly would be a downer, for anybody that expects a life-changing anime, for example One Piece or Your Lie In April, those two have fairly impacted my taste in anime. This anime is just fully for fun, ,,choose your own family,, oriented anime. It has dark times and stuff, but watch it if you feel genuinely bored of the usual idol stuff.

Detroit: Become Idols.
Technoroid: Overmind is err… not good to say the least. A story about a four android roommates trying to become idols so they can pay the rent and the electricity bills could make for a fun comedy, but with it’s lacklustre animation and generically annoying characters, I found sitting through the first four episodes very difficult. That’s not to say that you shouldn’t watch the first episode, in fact you should. The 180 it does at the end might be one of the funniest things I’ve seen in a while. I’m not going to spoil that particular moment, but I does set ... Jan 31, 2023
Technoroid: Overmind is an sci-fi anime about idols who are trying to become idols for the sake of their bills and based on the three episodes I watched, the anime was a disappointment, with simple character designs and unattractive background scenery, the animation style was poor. Additionally lacking were the action sequences and special effects, which gave the scenes a stiff, uninspired look. The plot was basic, and the storyline lacked originality which was the reason why I dropped the anime.
In addition, the voice acting was dead and unnatural, which made it challenging for the viewer to connect with the characters. Additionally forgettable, the ... |
