The Duke of Death who cannot be touched, and can only be tempted by His Maid, is back for Season 2, and is still ongoing for Season 3 next year...I see that the reception is rather low and dwindling (a noticeable 25% drop in member counts, and a staggering 90% in user counts), especially if you didn't like the premiere season that came out back 2 Summers ago in 2021, partly in question towards the choice to go full CGI on this one, courtesy of SMDE a.k.a Shogakukan Music & Digital Entertainment.

Bocchan Season 2 is fluff of the highest order. It’s a very cute watch with some really good romantic developments and awesome CGI. If you enjoyed the first season it’s a no brainer to watch this one as the story is substantially better and the character relationships have finally taken shape.
While I really liked Season 1, it was a little lacking story wise. You had really cute moments between Alice and Bocchan and Cuff and Zain’s relationship, but the quest to cure Bocchan of his curse seemed like a backdrop. In this season, it’s front and center and drives the developments of the season. Every ... Sep 27, 2023
Season two has come to a close, and is leaving me wanting more!
Continuing from season one, we get a deeper dive into the lives of the main cast. With romantic twists all around, getting to understand why certain characters act the way they do and how their current struggles are actually helping them pull forward and try even harder the next day. Although most of the animation is CGI, it gives the anime even more character and makes it stand out in the crowd. OST gets stuck in my head after episode. Lastly, I'm always hoping for the best for our young duke Viktor for he's ... Jan 26, 2024
Title: "The Duke of Death and His Maid Season 2: A Stray from the Charming Duo"
"The Duke of Death and His Maid" Season 2 brings back the visually captivating world and entertaining characters that fans fell in love with during the first season. However, this season takes an unexpected turn by shifting the spotlight away from the central characters, the Duke of Death and Alice, and exploring other secondary characters. While this may provide depth to the overall narrative, it might leave some viewers disappointed as it deviates from the charming dynamic established in the initial episodes. One of the strengths of Season 1 was the ... Oct 15, 2023
They are back at it again fellas, back to making one of the sweetest cutest "don't judge a book by its cover" anime of all time!
This season was a lot more focused on working with what was built on season 1 and less plot development, which is great! Everything season 1 introduced either got used or developed, if season 3 closes out the plot threads that season 1 opened and season 2 refreshed then this anime is a 10/10 when it comes to overall plot pacing Honestly I am not even sure what to say after this, if you liked season 1 you'll like season 2, if ... First of all maybe you would like it but i didn't.season 2 depends on what type of tings you like to watch.season 1 was very good and watching the maid and Duke's relationship was really cute.
Some background characters with their own story. It was cute and good to watch. But season 2 felt like it ran out of ideas. It was Basically a season to do side characters development.Rather than that it was same shit as season 1 between Duke and the maid playing and making naughty jokes which becomes boring.we have seen enough bruh. The other thing I didn't like about the Duke character ... Jan 20, 2025
The Duke of Death and His Maid Season 2 felt like a perfect continuation, and honestly, it exceeded all my expectations. I was already so invested in Bocchan and Alice’s story from Season 1, but this season brought in even more depth, more heart, and somehow even more reasons to root for these characters.
Right off the bat, the stakes felt higher with Bocchan’s mother giving him a spring deadline to break his curse or lose his inheritance to his younger brother, Walter. That looming pressure added a sense of urgency to everything, and it was amazing to see how Bocchan rose to the challenge. Even ... Aug 28, 2024
So this is season two of the series and not much really changes As we already know the characters From season one and They didn’t add any more until three episodes to go so it’s quite nice And these new characters aren’t hard to understand either
This show is more of an enjoyable series Then the first one with A couple of side stories and a couple of little bits of progression to see if the curse will be lifted. We learned quite a lot about the curse and who did it Which is really cool. I don’t think we’re anywhere near ... Feb 4, 2025
This isn’t a super in depth review. Check out other reviews for deeper thoughts.
Season 2 was very much a bridge to Season 3. It was a half time show to the final quarters of a football game or (insert sports analogy here). Not my favorite season of the show, but I’d be lying if I said I was disappointed in S2. I mean besides Shield Hero fans I don’t know any fan who would be disappointed in a favorite show getting a 2nd season. Had plenty of great moments, high stakes, and needed character development for all involved. Art & animation stayed consistent from S1 ... Jun 25, 2024
A promising start, but just that.
I have mixed feelings about this season. On one hand, the interactions between our protagonists continue to be great. It's enjoyable to see their relationship unfold, even though it causes a lot of distress because the curse prevents them from getting closer. Regarding the secondary characters, they remain fun and charismatic, especially Daleth with her stalker-like interactions and her love for Walter, which led to numerous amusing situations. We also had good development between Cuff and Zain, which started off quite satisfying but became lukewarm and somewhat annoying as Zain's personality unfolded throughout the episodes. As for the story, this season was ... |
