Ao Ashi was good. Not great, but good. It's simple and follows the main tropes of a sports anime. A hereto unknown, hyper-skilled, especially positive [soccer] savant is plucked from the sticks to play ball in the big city. That being said I don't hate any of those at all. I haven't watched enough for those commonalities to have gone stale. Like I have said in previous sports anime reviews, you don't have to reinvent the wheel as long as it's fun and entertaining.

I liked the art style. Simple, not especially over-stylized, nothing special, it feels comfortable. The animation of action and movement isn't great, ...

I read the Ao Ashi manga in fall of 2020. I think I started it while in the middle of some zoom class or the other, but it very quickly consumed all my waking thoughts and it is most certainly my favorite manga ever. When I found out that Ao Ashi was getting an anime adaptation, I was cautiously excited, but mostly my expectations were pretty low.

I think the anime did a great job at adapting the manga. Though it was very shocking to see some characters in full color (cough Kiriki cough), it was great to see them on the small screen. The ...

This is way better than I expected. I happen to see this in one of the recommendations so I decided to binged it all at once and now I'm addicted.

Although I've seen a lot of sports animes before, I never really had the urge to write a review on them until Ao Ashi. That's because I see a lot of people underestimates it because of mere clips and rumors they saw in the internet, and the animation quality and art style of it, but here's a simple advice: Don't judge the book by it's cover. I don't really care how un-review-like this review may ...

Preliminary (7/24 eps)
It's been a long time since I've been hooked on anime, and this series hasn't let me down yet.

So far, this series has piqued my interest, especially the episode that made me wonder who Aoi's father is. What became of him? Why hadn't he been present the entire time? Why wasn't he in their family photograph? Perhaps his father was a professional football player or something, because his mother said something along the lines of "football is taking you away from me," and this line maybe has something to do with his dad and that made me think that this anime has a lot more ...

Literally "Blue Foot". This is one of the best sports anime I've ever watched. OK, Let's to the review!
Story: You got boy named "Ashito Aoi" who loves football so much. He plays "fun football" with his classmates in regular high school football club until he met Mr. Fukuda at the shore. He is the head coach of so-called J-League club: FC Tokyo Esperion. He is the man who will change Ashito's career becomes 180 degree, become pro player and often teases him by saying "I will teach you how to play football". Ashito himself is natural striker, hunger for goal but he often plays individually ...

Ao Ashi stands tall as a captivating football anime that not only celebrates the sport but also delivers a compelling narrative filled with passion, camaraderie, and personal growth. As a football enthusiast, I found myself thoroughly immersed in the world of "Ao Ashi," enjoying every moment of its exhilarating gameplay and heartfelt storytelling.

I must admit that I may be somewhat biased, given my deep love for football. However, even accounting for this bias, the show unquestionably earns its place as a standout in the realm of sports anime. The series' ability to capture the essence of football and translate it into captivating animation is truly ...

Ao Ashi Anime - A Captivating and Heart-Touching Tale of Soccer Dreams

The Ao Ashi anime strikes a chord deep within, weaving a captivating narrative that intertwines the world of soccer with the poignant journeys of its characters. From the very first episode, it ensnares your emotions, delivering an amazing and heart-touching viewing experience that lingers long after the final whistle.

The animation in Ao Ashi is a visual masterpiece. Each soccer match is brought to life with meticulous attention to detail, showcasing the players' skill and athleticism with stunning fluidity. The dynamic camera work and vibrant visuals immerse you in the exhilarating atmosphere of the game, ...

This review will try to be spoiler free.
I know that my score may be a bit high for some people, but I want anyone reading this review to really hear me out. I have watched a lot of sports anime. It might be my favorite genre of manga and anime. The motivational stories that have been created through the medium of sports have been genuinely motivating and awe-inspiring to me throughout the years. Sports in real life are something that most people don't care about because it's hard to understand the intricacies of sports. Sports anime allow you to understand those minor intricate details to ...

I love when the emotion/chemistry/comradery of sports is captured in an anime. Many do it well, be it Ao Ashi or Haikyu or any of the numerous sports series out there. What I find sets Ao Ashi apart is that it is written with a deep and genuine knowledge of football. The progression of Ashito's knowledge from raw talent to being able to utilize his vision and skills within increasingly advanced schemes feels like a natural progression. Granted, he's have learned a bit more about it before being accepted into a club team, but the teaching of it IMO has also allowed me to have ...

Is it the best thing ever? Obviously not, but a good sports show is always welcomed. And this one is a good sports show as it has all the elements going for it.
In a sense it's a typical story. A poor boy from a backwater place gets scouted randomly by someone who recognized where his talent lies. What is enjoyable about such shows and stories is how much importance they give to training, teaching/couching and the results those bring out of the person. It gets trough broken dreams, broken hopes, failures and victories and does so well.
It goes through internal issues between teammates and the ...

Preliminary (15/24 eps)

I’m just writing a review now even though 9 eps are left because this show is freaking amazing….It grips you from the get go and aaah the storyline is just chefs kiss….do you like character development? If so, Then definitely check this out. I’m not saying this is a unique anime or anything since if you’ve been an anime watcher then you’re bound to see resemblance here and there….but like any great anime, it cleverly uses all those “inspirations” and moulds a new storyline!!
Also I’m a soccer noob….this is literally my first time watching anything related to it so I didn’t have any basic knowledge ...

Preliminary (11/24 eps)
Ao Ashi is one of the few sports anime that does not fall into the trappings of using superpowers to make sports entertaining. It expands from the basic pop culture understanding of a sport and starts delving into the tactics, skills and application of them, all in a way that makes it easy to understand.

It reminds me of Hajime no Ippo (fantastic boxing anime) which breaks down seemingly simple boxing techniques in a way that is understood by the viewers while showing or hinting at the more complex applications of them. This way, the audience understands the strengths and weaknesses of a skill, ...

Preliminary (8/24 eps)
When watching this, I didn't really think I would like it. I don't really watch sports anime afterall. But I have to say that it was good.

Story 7/10:
The story isn't anything special but It's quite interesting. Nothing much to say abt it yet. I'll update when there are more episodes.

Art/Animation(7/10)
The art is okay for me. And the animation is quite oaky as well. They do look stiff sometimes in my opinion.

Characters 8/10
I mostly like this 'cause of the characters. The mc 's personality isn't really anything special. I do like how he realizes he's selfish. I do like most of the characters as ...

Preliminary (3/24 eps)
I'm not even a football fan, but just after 3 episodes I am so into this story and characters that I cannot wait for continuation!

The characters are interesting, it's realistic but not borning at all. Main character is not another victimized-low-born that dreams big, he knows what he can do and he does it.
Coach's personality is written amazingly too.

I might change my mark to 10 after the whole series, who knows. For now it's big 9.
If you can interest soccer anti-fan in this game, you're doing a great job.

Probably best sport anime of the season.

Preliminary (17/24 eps)
To start watching sport-related animes, Ao Aoshi is one of the best choices. I do have a lot of knowledge about football myself still Ao Ashi helps the newbie viewer understand in an effortless manner and explains the viewpoint of the playing positions that are pretty much neglected in all the other kinds of sports-related series.
The storyline is very much unpredictable and as far as the character development is concerned, it is very realistic and truly brilliantly written.
In my opinion, this anime is going down in the history book as one of the best sports-based animes ever created.

Preliminary (7/24 eps)
The anime is produced by the Production I.G studio, which has animated famous sports anime like haikyu and kuroko's basketball. Of course, they didn't disappoint with the production of this anime either. I feel like the animation isn't as good as haikyu or kuroko's (yet, i hope), but they have killed it with the facial expressions that the characters give off, just like the other two anime; it's honestly my favourite thing about the show for now. Also, one more thing i like about this show is that it starts off by focusing more on professional careers rather than just high school tournaments. It also ...

Preliminary (17/24 eps)
This is my first review, so please bear with me.

Aoashi is not your run of the mill soccer anime. Unlike most short length soccer animes, Aoashi doesn't start off with a soccer rookie that has some potential in the sport or some special skill and in just 24 episodes makes them the best soccer player on the team that everyone trusts and admires. Nor does it really include the troupe that the power of friendship will solve everything. No, Aoashi takes a mediocre soccer player that wants to achieve his dream of playing on the world stage as the best forward in the world and ...

As a football fan I have to say that as the episodes went on I liked the anime more and more. A very interesting story, with twists and turns and a lot of football, not to mention a little romantic background story during the anime which makes it even more addictive if possible. As a long time football fan I have to say that I found it a masterpiece, because before watching Ao ashi I watched Blue Lock and, although both have football as the main theme, they are very different. Ao ashi gives a lot of information that those who enjoy football will surely ...

This is great soccer anime that I watch and the last time football anime that great other that inazuma eleven go franchise and there's other one too blue lock but you see this anime us great with animation and song and story telling too with the kicking the soccer ball point of view is example with footwork and they show a strategy which other soccer anime disregard because of so much fantasy on it but never the less this is great

The MC Ao I like his character he may be ball hog and lack of skills and I can see his potential I like ...

As someone who was forced into it often enough as a kid and has never liked football: this was an absolute joy to watch.

Beautifully drawn, with some stunning sceneries and great animation: as expected from I.G at this point, and they don't disappoint. It also manages to keep a rather perfect balance between the sport and the slice-of-life side of things, rather consistently, through all 24 episodes. Where we get sport, we get some really well done scenes with just enough explanation for laypeople to enjoy it as well. Where we get slice-of-life, we get glimpses into people's lives that bring just the right ...
