Both of these unique, early '80s anime feature Kenji Utsumi playing a transplanted Dracula. He's in Boston in one and Tokyo in the other.

The shows are uncannily similar in several aspects. Not only do they both revolve around a "signature adolescent girl", so badly written that it becomes sort of obvious that she's only there for the cuteness factor/fanservice, but they also show similarities in their low production qualitites. The dramaturgy of both shows rely on a few running gags, as well as a bombardment of lame catchphrases. All characters excel in their shallowness. The animation in both shows is outright bad. This is where the shows differ, however: While the production of Don Dracula is dropped at episode 8, Nanako SOS actually increases in quality around episode 10  read more

1982's hilarious shows with very similar humor, and similar relationship between not-humans main characters and humans, too.
