Both protagonists are overpowered and completely mog their opponents. They both have overpowered minions/harem members who gas them up constantly. They both pretend to be someone they aren't for the sake of the plot. They both use overpowered magic attacks. 

Misunderstanding genre isekai, OP MC, Evil Neutral MC I think? And also Mastermind MC. Of course, our MC has loyal subordinates. This two are quite the same but with different types of approaches. The thing is if you like Overlord then you can easily enjoy The eminence shadows. And also the other way around. That's it 

OP MC, they have powerful servants, and their servant always misinterpret the MC thinking he is highly intelligent where he only means the very simple things.  

amazingly written overpowered protagonist with a story that differs greatly from the average isekai. 

Both are isekai featuring a male main character with uncommensurable power. the strongest being of the entire world. In both anime the main character acts in disguise, cautiously in Overlord, completely hiding his identity in Kagejitsu In both the main character is the headmaster of a great organization which acts in the shadow, and where every underling, despite not as the mc, is extremely powerful. The organization features a wide variety of races, every member is completely loyal to the master, in particular the female members are in love or attracted by him, so the organization is also a huge waifu harem, especially Kagejitsu where it is entirely made up by women. read more 

Lurks in the shadow and let your subordinates do the work. If you like this kind of isekai anime, then you would definitely enjoy Overlord too! Both have similarities: -Both MCs seek power (Of course, Overpowered MC) -Prideful to oneself, making them overlord with their own anime. -Badass subordinates, absolute loyal to their master. -Both have their harem lol. -Interesting plot  

Both are Isekais that have great comedy moments and amazing story buildings. Although Overlord takes a long time to build a narrative, Eminence makes a parody of several Isekai narratives and at the end delivers a well rounded experience. I was truly hooked into it from day 1 and now that it has ended, I am writing a recommendation of sorts. Upsides : Waifus - Both animes have top tier waifus and you can't decide which one is the best one. MC - Both MC are OP and have their loyal admirers  

Both are isekai series with an OP main character who's a chuuni acting like a bad guy who gets a group of followers who don't get his joke and follow him with praises completely seriously. 

- Both have OP MC. - Even the characters who work under both the MCs are OP as hell. - Both the MCs couldn't comprehend the plot, yet the storyline moves forward without a hitch. - There are a whole lot of misunderstandings and this just fuels the fun element. - banger op/ed song - action/fantasy/isekai with good storyline According to my taste, eminence in shadow is just the "slightly" better version of Overlord. Still if you liked any one of the given show, then it is a given that you will like the other as well.  

Both are Isekai, both have strong subordinates, are similar in goals and attitudes, funny scenes are sometimes seriously mixed. But with the main hero of the brick head, who is considered by all subordinates to be a wonderful genius 

Getting isekaid into another world with magic and op characteristics, having a mind-set of anti-protagonist, leading the combat maids at his disposal (one of the biggest similarity)...... In Eminence in shadow the MC is not extreme to Overlord's level but getting more power and dominance is agreeable to both of them. The Mc of Eminence was kinda like batman in his previous life (traing his body & mind and fighting to keep the peace) but in his next life he's more trying to gain control like Overlord using magic as his main source of power. Eminence in shadow covers the one and only flaw of overlord anime which is not showing Momonga's past life accurately (if you exclude that one then overlord is all good). read more 

Both have an op mc, in another world. Also, both have a group they lead, and most importantly, they even have a chibi get-together by the studio. i really believe you'll like them :) 

Both have OP MC, kingdoms, secret cults, action, magic.  

If you like the comedy of the floor guardians seeing ainz as this unrivaled genius while in reality he's way out of his depth and getting through with luck and bluffs. You might like the eminence in shadow, because a very similar thing happens there. Though instead of the protag actively pretending to be the supreme leader their subordinates think they are, they have no clue what's going on 90% of the time and think that everyone is just "playing along" with him, unaware that the fantasy he thought he had made up was true the entire time.  

The Eminence in Shadow is far inferior to Overlord in many ways, but they both contain the incredibly specific trope of a guy being reincarnated into a fantasy world where he suddenly gains much power and many subordinates, and as a result he has to keep up the act of a perfect and all-knowing leader (when he is really no such thing). 

Parodies of the isekai genre are sometimes hard to realize. Konosuba and Eminence in Shadow are not hard to perceive as parodies. While Konosuba takes a much lighter approach to its comedy, Eminence in Shadow takes a more dark, sadistic approach. The isekai genre is carried by its stereotypes and cliches and Konosuba and Eminence in Shadow execute these with 110% effort in the most ridiculous ways possible, so much so that it's comedic genius. Both feature producers, animators, and actors that know what the mission is and execute it to perfection.  

Over the top Isekai comedies that will make you laugh, but in different ways. While Konosuba is mostly comedy, Kage no Jitsuryokusha aka Shadow Garden also features a solid (albeit so far ordinary) plot, and requires more exposure to other Isekais to really enjoy the jokes. Konosuba is light-hearted, while Shadow Garden has gory and darker aesthetics. Shadow Garden features an OP main character that likes to appear ordinary, while Konosuba's main character is rather ordinary but would've loved to be OP. 

Both are funyn shows with self-aware main characters but has a contrast in their powers in which main character in kono suba is awfully weak. -Cast of characters in both are funny -Side plot besides comedy -World building -ISEKAI 

These 2 works are caricatures of the isekai genre, bringing a humorous twist compared to the more serious ones. Konosuba, as well as Eminence in Shadow, poke fun at the genre's conventions by exaggerating them or playing with them! 

they has the same energy. You will like it because the eminence in shadow feels like a parody of isekai animes as konosuba 

The main characters in both have the same traits. Someone who is mysterious and always working in the dark shadows. The leader of a dark organization who defends justice (although sometimes it doesn't). Both are very much worth watching. 

the eminence in shadow is an isekai version of code geass 

- both protagonist are overpowered - both protagonist are smartest characters - both protagonist fake their identity - both protagonist have an army or a team - both protagonist fight against their main enemy - girls have crush on both protagonists 

the protagonist make articulated and complicated plans that reveal interesting plot, like the mc and the shadow garden. 

The Eminence in Shadow is almost like an isekai parody of Code Geass. Shadow = Zero -Both characters share similar designs, possess secret identities, exhibit overpowering abilities, demonstrate intelligence, and command formidable organizations. Shadow Garden = The Black Knights -Both organizations consist of strong members and seek to destroy an enemy that wants to rule the world.  

Both anime show a super-powered MC in an isekai. The MC is an assassin who uses magic and swords. Both have a harem of waifu who are also assassins. 

Both have an OP MC recruiting a group of girls to follow him in order to destroy an evil organization. A difference would be that Sekai Saikou no Ansatsusha is better written, while Kage no Jitsuryokusha is more irony poisoned. 

Mc is very similar, both have same spirit and ideals and faithful girls by their side 

Both anime: Have op mc Reincarnation from normal world to the magic world Mc trying to be the strongest  

Very similar structure of an unorthodox main superhero who isn't trying to be a part of the larger plot unfolding around him but ends up involved anyway. Comedic, and meta.  

Both OPM and TEIS have: - Funny protagonists that possessed overwhelming power. - Both of them are parody of their genre. OPM being superheroes and TEIS being Isekai. - Both contained high-octane action. 

Both One Punch Man and The Eminence In Shadow are pretty hilarious show with a super op MC. There are some serious moments in each shows, but most of the time it is just super fun ride. Highly recommend both shows. 

Both anime has overpowered mc and they are obsessed with living normal life. 

Similar but different main characters with overpowered abilities who use a secret identity while acting out a mysterious character that only those closest to him have any idea about. The world around him is just forced to adapt to his antics.  

The MCs are similar in their situations. They even have a few things overlapping in the plot that are very similar. They're also both overpowered MCs that hide their power 

1) Both have main characters that are OP 2) Both have main characters have secret identities of being normal and a powerful being 3) Both have side characters that are way to into what he does and says. They go along and pull him into their antics, or vice versa 4) Both have an "evil syndicate" that is in the background that both characters just happened to make up and is real. They are now forced to fight that group. 

To me, "Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute!" is all about MC being a hidden overpowered. It's constantly setting it up so MC seems like a nothing only to surprise everyone rinse and repeat. Nothing much else stood out (maybe the action scenes did). "Jitsu wa Ore, Saikyou deshita?" does the exact same thing in terms of hidden overpowered rinse and repeat so if that's what you want, this has it. MC's goal is to have a shut in life so even though he is overpowered (god like just like in "Kage"), he tries his best to hide it. It is also an isekai, reincarnation, and you hear MC's thoughts. Difference is "Jitsu" has a more light hearted tone, wackier situations and character interactions, and less action. read more 

Both are power trip fantasy anime that make for a great guilty pleasure. 

MC is boundlessly OP but in a hilarious way and is good at roasting his enemies. 

Unapologetically overpowered MC in Isekai. They are not afraid to actually use the power for the audience to see. 

We have an overpowered protagonist who is slowly building up his army. The world marvels at the immensity of what he is able to do, and of course, they are both reincarnated, possessing knowledge of this world and taking it to the new world. The series develops in a surprising way, we have followers loyal to the extreme, following every command of the protagonist, which generates many funny situations. In the case of Eminence of Shadow, the protagonist tries to hide his real personality and power at all costs, which makes his outer persona an extremely weak young man. This leads to many funny situations. In short, he is the most powerful character in the story, every time he enters the scene it is just to make the point. It is fun to see such a powerful and sadistic character, because he is not really a hero, but an anti-hero, but he is not a villain. read more 

Both protagonists, although they have very different personalities, share in their extreme magical competence while living a dual life to hide it from the world. They both live a mundane life as a "nobody" in high school, accepting and even embracing their fate as nothing special. This is to conceal their true identity as some of the most powerful and influential people in their respective worlds. Additionally, they both have "harems" of women who help and stand by their side, but for whom they have no romantic interest. They're more concerned about their work and the security of their secret life. Additionally they share in some of their cold and condescending attitudes when combat really heats up. read more 

it's the best isekai 

Dying in the real world for silly reason, reincarnating into a world of magic and Knights is the similar background for these two animes. Mc realising the fact that he is not supposed to be the main character of this new world and simply chooses the life of a mob character but still his background country boy vibe catches the eye of many and ends up popular. Leon from Otome game and Cid from Eminence in shadow has similarity in their characteristics. Their strength also above average level (could say a little op) which helps them win every battle they face.
