Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute!

For as long as he can remember, Minoru Kagenou has been fixated on becoming as strong as possible, which has led him to undertake all kinds of rigorous training. This wish, however, does not stem from a desire to be recognized by others; rather, Minoru does everything he can to blend in with the crowd. So, while pretending to be a completely average student during the day, he arms himself with a crowbar and ruthlessly thrashes local biker gangs at night. Yet when Minoru finds himself in a truck accident, his ambitions seemingly come to a sudden end. In his final moments, he laments his powerlessness—no matter how much he trained, there was nothing he could do to overcome his human limitations.

But instead of dying, Minoru reawakens as Cid, the second child of the noble Kagenou family, in another world—one where magic is commonplace. With the power he so desired finally within his grasp, he dons the moniker "Shadow" and establishes Shadow Garden: a group whose sole purpose is to combat the enigmatic Cult of Diablos, an organization born from Cid's imagination. However, as Shadow Garden grows in both membership and influence, it becomes increasingly apparent that the Cult of Diablos is not as fictional as Cid had intended.

Now this is an absolutely hilarious anime. Often whatever he predicts seem to just turn out to be true. I don't think it is ever explained how, but that's how the world works. His followers notice how right he is all the time and deeply respect him. As a matter of fact he starts thinking others are playing along with whatever he is making up and he in return plays along with them playing along with him, unknown to him others are serious and not playing along.

The comedy and jokes are different from other anime. And its very intelligent. Its not just ... slapstick comedy. Its mostly in very well written dialogues. Its hard to explain. You have to see the anime yourself.

As if this is a parody anime, all his followers are women. I would say its a harem show but he never has any romance with anybody. The lead character is the best character in the show. Its even better that he is obsessed with trying to be a 'background' character, hiding his power level when he is now wearing the mask.

I am assuming this is a parody anime of sorts. Hence our hero's power level is just broken. He is just too powerful and seem to follow no logic?! Kind of like Saitama. But somehow it works as I don't think the main focus is the comedy and not the action. Defeating enemies is not the primary focus, but style he does it in and what comedy will follow. And somehow he can teach his most notable broken ability to his followers?! And now his followers are a unbeatable force. In season two his followers take a bigger role.

In season two I faced a bit of problem. Its very good but I had a tougher time following the story and the jokes. I think the dialogues became a bit too complicated for me. I am sure I missed jokes and some of the plot.

The action and animation is good in both seasons.

Mixed Feelings

1) Not a Parody.
When you stab somewone with a knife and say that it was a joke, was it a joke? If Yoshiro Tagashi said that HxH is a porn, would it make it porn? Absolutely not. Genres, including parody, are more or less defined by their traits, not by author's opinion. If they really wanted to create parody then it only means that they failed, because for most viewers, there are no visible traits that define parody. It just feels like you everyday overpowered protagonist in lazily sketched world with boring one dimensional characters and toothless harem. Nothing really unusual.

2) Not an Isekai.
Sure, ... there is mandatory several minutes in the original world and ever so unimaginative truck. After that, it is all completely ignored and never impacts the story at all.
Also, shockingly, op protagonist, harem, constant misunderstanding on purpose and deadly truck are not defining features of isekai. They are just common signs of BAD screenwriting. "Our viewers are so brain dead that we need to wink at them every five minutes or they will not know what to think." said every faiilure pretending to be a screenwriter or a producent.
If you say that Friends series happened after year 2500, would it be suddenly a science fiction? No, it would still be the same sitcom with no visible sci-fi aspects.

3) Not a Shadow Eminence.
Guys and gals, every other superhero and their dog and special forces wear masks. It is to protect privacy and life of theirs and of all their relatives and friends. If you go around shouting: "We are the Shadow garden!" and beating mystical beings in public tournaments then you do NOT wish to be a shadow puppeteer. You just want to be a masked exhibicionist.
If you want to efficiently manipulate from shadows then others simply must not know that you are doing that. Is that so hard to understand?

There is one slightly interesting aspect though. The protagonist being clinical narcissist and the whole story feeling just like a solipsistic bubble in his imagination. Whatever bullshit he makes up, it becomes reality. Still, it is only hinted, not really elaborated or followed upon.

Other than that, it is just a perfectly boring mediocre trash fantasy story with above average visuals. And fake boobs. 5/10

•Starting from the characterization
There is not a single admirable character in this Anime, they all seem like just a lump of meat or a punching bag for the MC, there is no emotional bond that can be felt and the characters who pretend to be weak but are clearly depicted as strong at the same time look very annoying and disgusting, especially the MC, and also many characters who love the MC for no clear reason, this is one of the same reasons why I don't like Harem Anime, there are characters who look dignified but become very stupid later on

•power concept
One of the ... most ambiguous things about this anime is the concept of the MC power, he has a black slime as hard as steel but on the other hand he can explode like a nuclear, stop his heartbeat to pretend to be dead to Genjutsu like when fighting the red-haired woman (I forgot the character name), how can slime do all that? And also when I'am Atomic first appeared, there were 4 people (the MC, antagonist, silver-haired woman and woman with her hair tied) when he exploded they were all close together but when the explosion ended only the antagonist died, how could the two girls survive? The three of them should have died because the MC as the explosion point was very close, but when the explosion ended it looked like it was very far from the silver-haired girl who should not have died

•Plot
Of the 20 episodes I've watched, honestly episode 1 is the best, I read someone's comment that said "the plot of this anime tells of an MC who wants to live an ordinary life but is very influential in the shadows" I agree and I think that's the reason this anime is so bad, there is no character development, no conflict discussed and no interesting discussion, even the comedy is very thin, I only smiled a few times and the rest kept hoping for a scene that could amaze me and I regret having hoped, there are many scenes that are easy to predict and seem useless, I really feel like I've wasted my precious time on this anime
There was also a time when the MC was bathing with a silver-haired girl, what was the purpose of this scene?? It was so worthless that it wasn't even worthy of being called fanservice.

•Conclusion
I don't know how an anime this bad can get an 8/10, and even have a second season. There's nothing interesting about this anime. The only good thing is the animation during "I Am Atomic," and even that is marred by the MC disgusting voice.

There's a lot more I'd like to discuss, but because this anime is so worthless, I only remember a few scenes.
