Kara no Kyoukai review Part 4

One of the hallmarks of a good story is the ease with which it can suspend the disbelief of the reader or viewer, and in that respect the Kara no Kyoukai franchise has been good, but not truly great. That said, the fourth installment, Garan no Dou (The Hollow Shrine), is a tad more introspective than previous outings, and it may signify a shift into a higher gear for the series.

The story begins directly after the end of the second movie, with the unconscious Ryougi Shiki being transported to hospital in an ambulance accompanied by Kokutou Mikiya. When she finally ...

I really like many of the TYPE MOON series and one of them is Kara no Kyoukai. And this chapter is very interesting and fascinating.

First at all, I was delighted with the graphics. They are very cool, and well done. The animation is very clear, many scenes were dark but this just add more mystery and thrill, just what this anime is. There are many abstrac obscure scenes and in this time, you're not going to see many bloody scenes, however, routine scenes are intriguing, too. I like the character design but I think is kind of little cliche, both of the main characters ...

This is part 4 of the KnK movie series
This movie is basically one big character development but I still enjoyed this movie.

(There will be some SPOILERS in my review)

[Story]: (8/10)
The story of KnK 4 now takes place 2 months before the events of the 1st KnK and immediately after the events of the 2nd movie. I was actually hoping for the 4th movie to take place after the events of the 1st KnK but I'm glad they didn't.
After Shiki got involved in a traffic accident, she spent 2 years in a coma and what's worse is she now has an amnesia. She is visited ...

And we're back to Kara no Kyoukai this week. For those of you who missed or don't remember my reviews for the first three films, here's a quick recap. The first one was terrible. The story didn't make any sense, the characters were wooden, the horror elements were laughably bad and it was chock full of idiotic moments, such as the infamous “leave the comatose guy on the couch without bothering with any type of medical assistance because his body doesn't need to take in nutrients or anything” plot point. I normally wouldn't have delved into the series further, but it turns out that KnK ...

First off, this is my first review. Comments and criticism alike are appreciated.
*warning* this review may contain spoilers of the previous movies.
Till this point, the anime has revolved around fight scenes and battles. This changes slightly in this movie. The anime goes more into character development and the unanswered questions the rest of the movies had left us with, answering them, but leaving different ones in their place. The haze of haphazard events in the last movies finally begin to make a linear sequence. This episode is based mostly around character development, rather than advancement of plot. If you liked the ending and ...

Everyone desires to be destroyed and remade from scratch.''... I'm not sure how I'm supposed to feel about such generalisations. I mean I know it's a character's opinion, but it feels more like writer just putting the idea forward, an idea I find a bit ridiculous. Or am I just taking this stuff too literally? Is it supposed to be deep and relevant on levels I can't understand yet? Or is it just writer sharing his negative view of the world, or trying to appeal to depressed in the audience? Or just stringing together words in a way that might appear deep and thoughtful? Is ...

Like the other films, this film emphasize heavily on character development while filling in questions for the viewers who had already seen the previous films. This film focuses mainly on Shiki and her abilities' origin, etc.

As usual, the visuals are amazing as always. The music and sounds use are mostly used before by the previous films but since they are suiting I am personally not going to complain about it.

As mentioned, this film focuses on character development, and it excels at portraying out the details of each character. Though most of the time it showcases character development on Shiki, Mikiya and Touko isn't left out ...
