These two anime are completely different in plot but in characters you can definitely see a similarity... The main characters Ryuji and Taiga have a very interesting relationship.. one of a master and her dog (like Louise and Saito)... In both anime the characters share a close relationship in which the chibi fearsome female dominates the male...very interesting to watch.. (both females have the same voice actor as well..)

From episode one it was easy to tell who SHOULD REALLY be going out, even though they both try to go for other boyfriend/girlfriends (in each show), also making me having to cover my mouth in laughter so I wont wake up people and just about falling over from the hilariousness (is that even a word?) of it.

Made by the same people. Both shows are romcoms, and the good kind. Both are very funny but also very dramatic. If you enjoyed one you'll enjoy the other!

Toradora and Sakurasou involve a guy reluctantly taking responsibility for a female classmate that he lives near, but the girl in Sakurasou is a softly-spoken autistic artist, not a troubled tsundere. Sakurasou has a very similar tone to Toradora, and the characters fill comparable but not identical roles. Though Sakurasou initially tries to present itself as a fanservice anime, its real themes are of aspiration, self-expectation, and unreciprocated feelings.

Both are brilliant slice of life high school romcom dramas. It's mainly consisting of comedy (well done comedy) but every so often turn serious and dramatic - pulling heart strings. These can be from issues concerning love or family etc. Both are great watches if you are into romcom high school dramas.

[Spoiler Warning] Both animes have similar stories, like the fact that the two main characters start with a friendship, but at the end of the anime declare themselves to each other in a loving relationship. In Chuunibyou, the characters derive their characteristics because of another person, as Rikka, who decided to change her way of being because of Yuuta, the Dark Flame Master. In Toradora, the characters seem to show feelings for friends of their friends at the beginning of the anime. But throughout history, they realize that actually liked each other. If you saw one of these animes, I think you'll like the other I recommended the same  read more

Many romcoms share similar likenesses, so I could probably list others that match up decently like Chuunibyou, Golden Time, and even Yahari Ore no Seishun and such which others have listed. But I found these two to be similar because of the MC's dynamic/forced relationship with a main girl while the MC's crush is a different person. Both also have typical things like "beach" episodes, romantic tension that occurs during scenes of the MC and female protagonist (though Nisekoi has a bit more romantic tension in its scenes). Both are also comedies and have tsundere leads. The difference is that Nisekoi turns into a harem fairly quickly  read more

Both are very similar. Have the same synchro and the same character - qualities. Synchro~ Kugimiya Rie - Taiga - Shana In these animes is about love. The anime also has what funny, the comedy is there, too.

Ookami-san started to develop into something meaningful other than a plotless comedy over a few episodes. That development focused on romantic struggle of the main couple. Toradora development is pretty much the same, started of funny and increasingly dramatic over time.

- Both have a main boy that everyone is afraid of but in reality he is very sweet and misunderstood. - Both are shoujo with comedy.

wholesome and meaningful romcom that touches deep important topics in every kind of relationship

Yui reminds me of Minori from Toradora and I feel OreGairu has got a lot of inspiration from that series with the lead male as well (though he not only looks delinquent, he pretty much is). Similar storyline pacing and character dialogue/interactions. As a big fan of Toradora I think this one is going to be a must.

Both main characters have scary appearances, but their personalities do not match how they look(or more so, how other people look at them).

Ryuji Somehow reminds me of harima.. they are both looks like delinquent.. but they actually are sweet and kind.. they also have problems to confess their love to the person they like :P

The relationship between the protagonists are really similar (especially the girl main). They both are in a love-hate situation, and is really entertaining. The only thing that differs is that there is no detective work.

Both female leads are tsunderes. The female and male leads in both of these anime have the same seiyuus. Basically, Hidan no Aria (Aria the Scarlet Ammo) is Toradora with guns.

Lead male complained and avoided by his delinquent appearance but a nice guy in the inside, also both live alone with a naive and not completely independent female whom they care while doing the housekeeping. They both also interact with a set of ladies in an institute environment.

I am not sure if I can really link those two with something as precise as similiar characters but I for one enjoyed Toradora as much as I enjoyed Sukitte Ii na yo. They are both romance anime, both female leads are kind of misunderstood even if it's not in the same way and are both wonderful people once you get to know them. The male leads have both very unique characters and both anime make you feel that little tingly feeling that makes you want to burst whenever something good happens. Start of like a comedy and increasingly develop intense drama. Both are adolescent stories with youths going for their life goal, or new life.

The female protagonist of Hiyokoi -Hiyorin- have the shy character of Sawako (from Kimi ni Todoke), and have the same appereance of Taiga (from Torodora) and in terms of height Yuushin and her are the opposite of Risa and Atsushi (from Lovely Complex). The story of Hiyoko iis similiar to these 3 animes as well.

If you watched Clannad you have to watch Toradora. They are very similar story-wise and the characters are sort of similar too. I would say Toradora had more entertainment while maintaining the I-love-her-and-she-loves-me-yet-other-girls-like-him-too sort of atmosphere. Yeah it'll most likely help you get out of the sadden state if you watched Clannad.

A story about a determined protagonist who has to take care of a rude but at the same time weak girl with a tsundere personality. It also has the potential to turn into a real drama.

Mio and Taiga's personalities are very similar, in the case that they are both tsundere toward the male lead.

Most of the ToraDora! staff returns to make AnoHana. With a similar comedic yet melancholic feel to every episode and the effect of seeing noticeably alike character designs, you can't go too far into either series without noticing that the other shares analogous characteristics. ToraDora! is for those who prefer realistic and well-paced drama while AnoHana holds true for the opposite.

Both story revolves in a high school, and the heroine, Hanazono Hikari is as powerful as Aisaka Taiga. A great story which do not let the side characters go down, as well as great soundtracks...

Both are about an outcast of a girl that ends up forcing a guy to tag along with her for helping her with stuff (Haruhi: Helping with her SOS Brigade | Toradora!: Mainly just supporting her). Some aspects of the art are also similar.

The main romance plot is very similar between them. They may not share the same main plot (Music and Slice of Life/School) but secondary characteristics may apply. The alternance between comedy and drama is really similar, while the romance feels really heartwarming. There are a lot of similar events at the end of both, talking about them would be spoiling, but who liked one will probably like the other.

Even though 'Working!!' has barely started, it reminds me greatly of 'Toradora!'. Both feature tiny female leads, forward (sometimes violent) female characters, and slice-of-life comedy.

- High school life; - Lovable characters; - Relationship between the MCs is well paced and develops beautifully; - The male MC is more intelligent than people give him credit at first; - Somewhat dramatic but with lots of good comedy in between.

Ririchiyo and Taiga (the main female characters) are petite tsundere from wealthy families, with deeper reasons to behave the way they do, instead of just your typical tsundere traits for moe purposes. Bonus! Both wear thigh-highs. Miketsukami and Ryuuji are both gentle male characters, with talents at "domestic" chores, and enjoy taking care of the main female characters.

Toradora goes over similar events that happen in Tsuki ga Kirei. If you haven't watched Toradora for what ever reason and are looking for a romance similarly satisfying, Toradora is a good one to check out. If you watched Toradora and have been searching for an anime that is like it for quite some time, I really suggest Tsuki ga Kirei.

Both shows are very well-done romances with great chemistry between their characters, set in high school settings. Toradora! is a more comedic take grounded entirely in the real world, while Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai is more dramatic and has a paranormal edge to it.

Both anime focus on a young girl who has family troubles and are unskilled at getting along with others. At first, both girls have a reputation in their school for being strange - but a guy comes along and sheds some light on their once-dreary lives. Also, romance and comedy are balanced in both series and also have some drama tossed in.

Both shows are romantic comedies with male main characters who happen to look 'different' and a bit scary. They also have a love interest, a cute girl. Both stories have lots of situational comedy. Main characters are quite likeable and resemble each other. Toradora has a bit more drive and story, while Ore Monogatari!! has lots of awkward funny romance

Both shows have a similar settings. Both shows have characters that battles through inner struggles with their past thus developing their characters. Although Ao Haru Ride has slightly less melodrama than Toradora, both are a good experience.

The characters. If you like the characters in one of them you have a good chance of liking the characters in the other. This might be the most important thing Both were originally a light novel series. Both have a solid story that revolves around the development of the characters. They're both romantic comedies that don't rely on fan service.

The relationship between the two main characters is similar. Both Holo and Taiga are unique tsundere-like characters that have a goal they want to accomplish(Holo returning to the North, Taiga getting Kitamura to like her) and relies on the male character(Lawerence in Spice and Wolf, Ryujii in Toradora) to get them there. In the beginning, their relationship begins on a rocky start, but as they face different challenges together and get to know each other, they start to depend on each other more and develop a close bond.

Watching Nagi no Asukara brings back feelings from watching Toradora. They are similar in a way that characters in both animes are caught between valuing friendship and their romantic loves, and choosing between the two. I liked the diversity of the personalities of the lead characters in both series. Both have good plot progressions.

Azumanga Daioh is similar in energy to Toradora!, and everytime I watch Ryuji's teacher homeroom teacher Yuri, I cannot help but be reminded of Chiyo and her friends' homeroom teacher Yukari; uncanny resemblance. Azumanga Daioh is a little more absurdist than Toradora! and has no specific plot, and is a little more low-key at times, but if you enjoyed Toradora! I definitely recommend Azumanga Daioh.

Almost the same situation were it involves 2 people who have a crush on someone else but ends up being together. However, one has a side of comedy and the girl is quite a handful for the guy, while the other is more of a drama and the girl is very submissive to the guy's advances.

Both are romantic comedies with similar setups (guy crushes unrequitedly on girl, guy gets help from another girl, guy also helps one of these girls with her own unrequited crush, guy eventually grows to care for the girl helping him, etc) that will tug on your heartstrings. For those who are not fans of the ecchi shows, don't let the ecchi genre tag for Video Girl Ai scare you off. The ecchi moments in this six-episode OVA are far and few between, and of a more mild variety than the more blatant stuff you see nowadays. VGA came out in 1992, after all.

Both Toradora and Hayate no Gotoku (HnG) are similar because both of them are slice of life, romance, and also include school life. In my opinion, HnG is better than Toradora because it has more comedy and action. HnG is full of parodies, and sort of like a harem, and there's a lot of comedy. I recommend HnG for any age but it's not as romantic as Toradora (kisses on the cheek couple times, which is basically it).

Junpei and Ryuuji have a smiler characteristic, they both look delinquent, and they both find it hard to confess their love to the girl they like, in the way they find a way to be closer to the girl, in toradora it was taiga, while in Nyan Koi it was the cats, there seem to be more similarities between other characters too.

Toradora! and Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora look similar to me, first of all because of the art style. Then, because one of the main characters falls in love with the other one without him/her noticing it. After this, the one who falls in love acts giving him/her all to have the other person. Toradora! is way better (to my eyes) because it's also kinda comedy-ish and has humour through it, but Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora it's more like a drama through it all but, in the end, all that matters is the love the main characters feel for each other.

Toradora is in a way a MUCH better version of Akane Iro ni Somaru Saka. They both evolve around the main protagonist who has been listed as a delinquent (Ryuji in Toradora and Junichi in Akane-iro ni Somaru Saka) that meets a girl who is a hard headed mix of many different types of characters. Toradora and FB are somewhat only superficially similar, dude meets girls, life entanglement and stuff blooms from thereon. However, the two are usually acclaimed in their handling of the themes they use. Toradora is a love story going into what people truly wish for, FB being a supernatural tale about the consequences of peternormal abilities. Both using their premise to go deep into such with vivid character development and awesome perspective of understanding the reality. Both are pretty good drama anime, with one being a well-known rom-com, the other being a highly acclaimed shoujo story so good it needed a remake.

Toradora and Higehiro have almost same structure of story and general sequence of events plotwise. >Vulnerable female mc and loner male mc - meet by accident, but stayed by choice. They make each other's life more bearable and enjoyable >Both stories have a RELIABLE CHAD MALE MC taught expressing KINDNESS towards the humans within your reach, without ulterior motives >Both stories demonstrate people's ability to OVERCOME OBSTACLES of the past for a BRIGHTER FUTURE, with our female mc(s) - who truly has the most character development in each of their story. i don't often enjoy romance animes, but Miss Kobayahsi's Dragon Maid (especially the second season) was an exception. Both Toradora! and MKDM contained action and fight scenes which are my most liked preference in any show/movie. MKDM also had one of the best quality on animation I've seen in anime, which automatically made it even better for me to watch and enjoy.

Toradora! and Amagi Brilliant Park are both lighthearted anime with quite a bit of funny comedy. Toradora! gets a bit more serious later on, but the atmosphere and comedy is very similar between the two. The main characters of both anime, Ryuuji and Taiga in Toradora! and Kanye and Sento in Amagi Brilliant Park, have a similar dynamic as well. Check them both out!

I think these are some of the best Romance anime you can find, 3D Kanojo is very focused on romance, and has a great development of the characters through the episodes. Toradora also has a great development of the characters, romance is a main focus and it's well made. Toradora has more comedy than 3D Kanojo. In my opinion, both are amazing.

Only similarities is that they are both romance and both have 2 weird individuals that like each other, other than that there are none, problem with nazo no kanojo x is that there is absolutely ZERO anime you can compare it to as it's just so odd, but it is amazing, the characters and visuals, everything about this anime holds up even to today's standards

Akira Koizumi and Taiga Aisaka are characters cut from the same cloth. Both are short persons, live alone in a huge penthouse, have a rich yet broken family, resort to violent retribution and abrasive speech. Basically two S-tier tsunderes. The relation to both male MCs is a little less similar, but both stories fall into the range of high school romance with complex love polygon and rivals. While Toradora! oftentimes is pretty serious for a comedy and void of ecchi, Iketeru Futari in those aspect is the complete opposite. While these anime are largely different in genre, setting, themes, and most other measurable quantities, they share one major similarity- the source of their humor. In both shows, the humor is derived from each of main cast of characters being either dicks or dumbasses to each together throughout the show. It is these seemingly mean spirited or even cruel interactions that provide the humorous surface of what are (mostly) very genuine friendships.

Both are great love stories and both focus a lot on personal growth. Some of the side characters are similar but the story itself isn`t. But I believe if you liked one, you will like other.

Both protagonists do not have a "profile" as a romcom protagonist. They also have an inferiority complex in relation to the other characters in the cast.

Both ths shows are rom-coms, slice of life based shows and both have great endings. Plus they both have great soundtracks , story, animations and characterizations. You'll enjoy both of 'em and may love both of 'em as well.

Is this what you really want? The Girl Who Leapt Through Time and Toradora both have the similarities of one lying to themselves when it comes to one other. Without going into too much detail the protagonists Makoto and Taiga are both in the same both when it comes to the view of Chiaki and Ryuuji respectively, only using a superficial level of communication to express their thoughts to. Both are good romance anime about the things you really value and how one goes about it.

The premise of "OsaMake" reminds me about the wonderful show that is "Toradora!", despite it lacking the "tsundere" aspect. Both series try to present the idea of having something "fake," and progressively developing it, turning into something that is considered as "real." In simple words, a relationship that was supposed to be platonic was instead transformed into one that might consider as special due to some unexpected circumstances.

Karakai Jouzo no Takagi-san Karakai Jouzo no Takagi-san is a masterpiece. I watched it before Toradora and was the second anime that made me happy in a tough moment. It's also about a slice of life but with a focus on two kids growing up. There are friendship, provocations, and mind games. Everything is so sweet. If you liked Toradora, this other anime is an almost sure recommendation.

Dishonest. Toradora and A Whisker Away both follow dishonest individuals when it comes to their feelings with their supposed love interest. Toradora has tsundere Taiga and scary-looking Ryuuji. Whisker Away has hyper Muge and a calmer Hinode. Both are good drama romance anime, all with a comedic atmosphere around a school setting.

Toradora is like the good version of nagatoro, the main character is kind of similar and the main girls are pretty much the same, tsundere-type (Taiga is more relaxed though) that kicks and punches the mc but in deep they want something with him, i like more toradora but i think that the shows are kind of similar

Romance animes that can really get to you. Unlikely couples, dealing with and helping overcome each other's issues. Ocean Waves has a more mild and believable Tsundere lead who ropes in a similarly earnest guy, with the same context of high school melodrama and family problems. While these essential elements are the same, the plot and the characters are aimed at a completely different target audience. However when the show go for more than one tone, it's worth watching even more, as long as one genre doesn't spoil the others. This two shows are probably one of the leading high-school romance comedy of its time. Both shows has a potential of a good comedy, while also maintain high standard of drama and romantic content. The relationship between Kippei and Kokoro compared to Taiga and Ryuji are almost identical. Kokoro and Taiga both lack of parent love and portray loneliness. However, I think Kokoro is hotter. The main difference is that Aishiteruze has a kid that interferes in the relationship, while Toradora both oblivious. Nevertheless, both are fun to watch and their cute.

Both involve main characters who idolize a guy without seeing the one right in front of them. Toshokan Sensou is significantly shorter and has a very different setting. But they're both funny, and featured short-tempered female leads. Toradora! is definitely the stronger series, but Toshokan Sensou has it's moments.

When I started watching Toradora!, it reminded me immediately of Hayate no Gotoku! Besides being voiced by the same person, the first thing I thought about when I saw Taiga was "NAGI!": They're both short, rich and like to boss around, but they also have their sweet side that they show to the guy they like (and to their close friends). They also have problems with their parents / grandparents. Hayate is also similar to Ryuji in a way that they both serve their "masters" without hesitating, and also take care of the girls. Oh but Ryuji has a scary face while Hayate is cute :P

Torodora and Ichiban are each about a student that is looked down by other classmates because of his scary, apparent nature. Both heavily emphasize comedy, romance, school, and both hone in on the character's predicament. Toradora deals with a high schooler's troubles as everyone thinks he's a rough bully. Ichiban deals with a student's troubles as everyone labels him as a demon lord.

Again, Rie Kugimiya plays a brilliant Tsundere character in Taiga. Who is paired, remarkably enough, with a male named Ryuji. The title ToraDora comes from Tiger & DRAGON. There is no fighting in ToraDora, it is more of a HS rom-com. One of the best IMHO. But both males are good at the cleaning/cooking. Yui Horie lends her voice to supporting characters in each as well as the song tracks. Well worth watching for any fan of rom-coms or of Rose (Rie Kugimiya).

Toradora & Imouto sae both contain the same "Scrubs" - style formula (the irl comedy, occasional emotional doctors show). Namely, they're a) character driven b) part 1 of episode of characters interacting/doing trivial things c) part 2 of episode containing the "feels" / life lesson. a large lesson that is constantly revisited is that of "taking something for granted" whether it be a talent, a personality, a relationship, etc. consequently, each of these shows also delves into when those characters does take something for granted and how it affects the rest of the cast.

At their cores, both shows revolve around the brilliant character dynamic between the two leads. The effortless chemistry born of the osananajimi/neighbour relationship results in an endless flurry of interactions that feel both organic and quirky. The slow-burn development of the 'central' relationship only amplifies the euphoria of the eventual crescendo. However, what powers the shows is not the wait for catharsis, but rather are the mundane slices of life that that add a spark to every episode. Also, both leave you scraping the internet for any form of fan fiction that can act as an epilogue.
