Bai is a comedic character at times which lightens the mood, but he can be serious at times and his brilliance comes out. Though he appears to be a goof and incompetent always fleeing from difficult situations, when he is forced to fight - his genius comes out. I love the character development throughout the series, he starts out as fair weak and through hard work becomes OP AF. Overall enjoyed the serie's alot!! defs worth a watch 10/10

if you haven't read the novel then it might actually be decent for you

if you read the manhua you will find this like a hamburger without the bread

if you read the novel you will find this very lacking

if you read them all... well it just classic xianxia

so tbh I think you are better off reading the novel and if you REALLY want to see art then watch the anime before reading the manhua, because you will get bored once you get to the anime after reading them all

now after some criticizing its time to move on to the good parts, the mc is still ... shameless as hell which makes it actually more enjoyable for me, the music and art I actually liked the best because it just feels nice to finally see the novel in an anime despite it not getting the full picture (the size is just so stupid)

I'm already on the 32nd ep and I'm only staying because I want to see if it can actually be improved, but so far it's still classic xianxia

i don't get why people hate the romance/harem genre, it's actually pretty fun to watch instead of reading it

This is hard to watch.

The protagonist is the definition of gary sue - he's a genius for no real reason, always succeeds vs people who trained for years because plot, people help him either because he bugs them enough or because they are somehow put in his debt by plot. He never encounters real adversity, because he always comes out on top anyway with little struggle and absolutely 0 personal cost.

It's a lesson in how not to do "Show, don't tell" - so so so so much is glossed over, explained (if at all) in a line of dialog. Maybe a 15s flashback if lucky.

the ... animation is so n so. The backgrounds are probably the better part of the anime.

the story is brought down by the gary sue protagonist - up till now it doesn't seem to be really going nowhere, it's more of a hero's journey without villains or struggle.

the chinese dub and the audio is kinda atrocious - it's not as bad as some american one i guess, but it's far far far from japanese stuff.

All in all, i would not advise other people to watch it, instead play amazing cultivation simulator.
