Future Folktales is set in the future where VR, flying cars, and household robots are a normality. It introduces us to a family in which a grandmother retells her 3 grandchildren Arabian stories and in doing so teaches them life lessons.

Honestly, the fact that its a Japanese anime set in the middle east is still so cool to me. We never seem to get to see middle eastern stories or people in anime often, so its a great change of pace!

I need to tell you all. This is a masterpiece. I love doraemon or shinchan but this is a new different level. Indeed, this anime is so relaxing, but even i cried and laugh with this anime. Lots of beautiful story with many type of protagonist. I want to watch it again with my son/daughter in the future. Inshaa Allah. And the song or the seiyuu, they're incredible. Ithis anime remind me of kaidan restaurant. It's so funny too. But here, we will enjoy the story as we the one who experience it. One episode feel so long because we always in the pinch. read more

Preliminary
Future Folktales is a series with a different Arabian fable every episode: a short tale that teaches a moral. Each episode, there's a grandmother that tells a fascinating story to her three grandchildren ( four, including me, the viewer) so they can learn that our modern-day dilemmas are easily solved by a simple story. Wisdom comes from the past.

The stories (so far) are all located in a similar background, but the characters are different. Also, IMO there are some stories that have a meaningful ending, while others are quite bland. Still relaxing though.

I'm watching this because this is a ~very~ comforting anime and it's read more
