This series was such a good experience. Art style and the Characters design are really good.

If you love watching thriller detective anime. This one is for you. The characters were plot addictive.Especially the opening and drawing are perfect. One of the most entertaining anime.

The Main characters are so good. Especially Daisuke. He is very handsome , smart and the richest anime character I have ever seen. The story is very good written and it's look like James Bond movies and Batman but that's good. I like both of them.
Hope there's a season 2. It’s really fun to watch.

The art and sound design were interesting, but this isn't really my type. More slice of life than intense detective thriller. There's no overarching theme or mystery that makes me want to watch beyond the first episode. It was predictable in every way, and the execution was bland. I don't care for the characters, they're kinda cliche, especially the rich guy. 7/8 of his personality is his wealth. As for the other guy, we got the classic underdog that everyone shits on, but the show didn't give me enough time to get to know the character so I don't even feel bad. It just seems ... so so manufactured that everyone hates him because of his idea of justice. The show is exactly as its description says. Nothing more.

Fugou Keiji: Balance: Unlimited: this show is a wonderful one.Daisuke Kambe, a man with extraordinary wealth, is assigned to the headquarters for the prevention of modern crime as a detective.There, he has Haru Kato as his partner, a detective who appreciates justice and dislikes the way Daisuke looks at things in a completely opposite way to him.

Haru's motto is "Money can't buy everything" but also "Money is not everything" and Daisuke's motto being simply "So how much?" / "So how much?"

The story:
The story begins with the reunion of Daisuke Kambe the only and only heir of the Kambe family with Haru Kato a detective with ... a very broad sense of justice being like a Hero for the people he helped throughout the series. And the two join forces to solve various mysteries.

Art / Animation:
I absolutely liked the art style of this anime having a pretty unique art style. Resembling various Batman animations or police series.
The animation is excellent especially when HUESC is involved.

Sound:
The soundtrack is similar to various shows such as animated evenings with Batman and Jason Bond movies or other animated Batman movies and / or live-action. In the opening we have the song NAVIGATOR by SixTONES and the end (the ending) ) we have the song, Welcome My Friend by OKOMATO'S for those who want to listen to them. Daisuke Kambe is voiced by Yuusuke Oonuki, and in Haru's case maybe some of you recognized him and maybe some of you didn't recognize Yagami Light alias Kira from Death Note or Osamu Danzai from Bugou Stray Dogs being a vocal actor better known for his vocal performances as Miyano Mamoru. They both do a fantastic job and the voice fits the characters perfectly.

Character:
Haru is an idealist and knows how to enjoy life, being considered by the people he helped even a hero and "that rich idiot" alias the millionaire detective named Daisuke.
Daisuke and Haru manage to have a pretty good chemistry in the odd misunderstandings between them and eventually reaching a compromise. And it would be similar in terms of the intermediate conflicts they have with the cat and the mouse or the dog and the cat (there are various fanarts with Haru having dog ears and tail and Daisuke with cat ears and tail) if you want you can But there is also some resemblance between Daisuke Kambe and Tony Stark alias Iron man and Bruce Wayne alias Batman because they have a very high financial power which is the multitude of money they have are also the heads of large companies (Company Kambe (Wayne Enterprises and Stark Industries) and ultimately benefit from various gadgets but there is also some resemblance between Haru Kato and Commissioner James Gordon and Steve Rogers aka Captain America with a very keen sense of justice. But despite all the circumstances and misunderstandings, Haru and Daisuke are / and eventually become friends but get along and eventually come to a compromise as is the case with Steve Rogers and Tony Stark or as in the case of Bruce. Wayne and Commissioner James Gordon.
I would add something about Haru is like "an older brother" to Daisuke.


In conclusion The Millionaire Detective - Balance: UNLIMITED / Fugou Keiji: Balance: Unlimited has an interesting story.
But that doesn't stop me from giving this a chance for season 2 and I hope a season 2 will appear someday and they made me love the themed songs from (I honestly like the opening and ending). And if you're like the cop friend, go watch this anime!
Although there are some rumors on social networks that there is a possibility that it would appear next year.

its was disappointing. The story was very intriguing at first because you get two people who have totally different values put together to work. But then the show just focused on this one case and you dont really get to see the two main characters dynamic with each other and it got really boring.

Amazing opening and ending song though. Also mamo-chan voiced Katou which was great.\

overall, I wished the anime focused more on the interactions of the two characters and how they work together. maybe the anime was for the novel readers but it wasn't what I thought it would like.

The anime had a very good start.

Each character has different principle for example Haru hated the way how Daisuke thinks he can solve everything with money. I still don't understand why Haru is traumatized from firing a gun maybe because I have also never shot a gun before.

I felt like it was rushed through like a lot of other anime out there. The opening and ending music was good. Not a lot of anime has both.

The animation was not bad as well.

It's not a good show if you are looking for a deep story, brilliant characters and a complex plot with a strong message. It's, however, a good time-killer. There wasn't any single episode that made me feel bored, even though a tonal shift from a light-hearted comedy to a darker approach was somewhat jarring. But the boys are pretty, the comedy for the most part works, the detective story wasn't something special, but made me genuinely invested ... in the mysteries of Daisuke's family.
Not the worst way to spend an evening or two.

This anime is a fun ride! Only 5 episodes are out at the time of this review, but it seems like the creators have a solid idea of what fans enjoy seeing. A few times I got the feeling I was reading a fanfiction or watching fan art (I mean that in the best way). Daisuke and Haru are both very entertaining characters to watch, but add those interesting scenarios along the way?? Really good humour?? Well, looks like you've got a recipe for success :)

If you're the target audience, you'll really enjoy it. The story gets dramatic sometimes but overall not one to ... take too seriously, so just sit back and have fun ^^ I 100% recommend!

When the movie "Justice League" was shown back in 2017, there was that Barry Allen and Bruce Wayne scene where Barry asked Bruce "What are your superpowers again?" To which Bruce reply's "I'm Rich." In this anime that was taken from a LN basically puts Daisuke Kambe in such position, in fact this anime revolves around that guy.....and his relationship with his partner/Frienemie, Kato Haru, TBFH how this anime was made to revolve around 2 guys by Original Creator, Tsutsui Yasutaka IMO was most about him being this rebellious guy who has a problem with authority where he probably thinks that technocrats like ... him were in the better position than these authorities who does nothing but do everything by the book. So, enough of that, so:

Story-Poor 3: The plot was simply a loose combination of Hawaii Five O, Gotham, Batman, Richie Rich and a defunct TV series "APB." Now I did say loose combination, cu'z it starts out as a usual police procedural drama , when all of the sudden an arrogant and flashy rich SOB guy suddenly appears and he lets all of his assets to the works for him like his super AI HUESC and a whole lotta cash in hand he becomes this detective in no time and from there on his relationship with his so called by the book patter...TBFH, this anime's story plot simply revolves around money money and money and how much of a loser the SOB's partner is ...in other words this is one anime where the euphemism "Money Talks" really talks and how the anime ended basically was just tad too shallow, it would have been better if the SOB's dad would've have been the enemy all along and his accomplice is the family's butler.

Enoki, Junya to do Daisuke's voice, also, it would have been nice if Daisuke has a lively monologue and not be this laconic MC.

Character -Poor 3:

Let's go over each of them:

Kambe Daisuke- Basically he is a combination of Tony Stark's flair for being flashy, Bruce Wayne's sense of justice, Richie Rich's access to tech toys and fortune, and Dirty Harry's of doing things his way....TBFH, I kind of hate to sees him as this arrogant flashy SOB who only lets his money do the talking , in fact I would've have preferred that he gets killed by that blond bad guy.

Kato Haru-For him to be this wash-out detective from the Frist Division who has too much integrity in his system basically makes him a weak character given that he works under the Modern Crimes Prevention Unit, which is a department for loser, is an injustice to his character, IMAO, his character would've have been better utilized as this character who can put Dasuke in his place....

Kambe Suzue- Ok, she's Daisuke's go to tech girl , or in Batman's term, she's Alfred Pennyworth...a very hot Alfred Pennyworth, pretty much she the only sensible character around here, thought it would have been much better if she serves as someone whom both Daisuke and Kato would compete for and probably she should also be someone who shows a lotta skin.

Modern Crime Prevention Headquarters- Lead by Yukihiro Kiyomizu, IMAO, that unit simple don't have any place in this anime, in fact this unit ought be better off handling traffic or just be a bunch of security guards, TBFH , I really don't see any point as to why this series' original creator has to add theses kinds of losers.....

Bad Guys- Katsuhiro Takei, Weinski and Shigemaru , as antagonists their roles were also as sensible as Suzue, In fact if I can have it my way I would have wanted them to beat the shit out of Daisuke and Kato. There is also Daisuke's obaasan in which I don't think should've have been the main villain , IMAO this series ought to just stick to the bad otosan thing where it would have been much better.....

Adollium- According to wiki fandom, it is an element created from sea water that has same potential as plutonium...Really, to have an ending from something as quack as that kind of element serves as a final nail in the coffin, cu'z it only goes to show the original creator's stupidly in science, cu'z the only elements you can extract from seawater were : Hydrogen, Oxygen , Sodium and Chloride...not to mentions carbon from either dead or living microorganism....

Enjoyment-Decent 4: At first I like it , but as it gets to the end , that's were my interest spirals down ,cu'z I simply see the finale as just lame.

Overall-Poor 3: Cu'z it only uses money to to do the talking and the motive for the killing of the MC's okasan was just too shallow.....do, I recommend it???? Maybe , does it deserve a sequel???? NO!!!!!!!

Honestly when i saw this anime i thought it had a potential, i mean come on detectives, mysteries, lots of money and gadgets, super technology, whats not to like right ?
Well... the whole story was kinda lackluster no real mystery, you can tell from start pretty much whats going to happen, some of the things are unexplained and kinda ruin the emersion. Also no real action going on.
Anyway if you think this anime will blow you away, with any genre aspect, it probably wont, Overall its meh, if you are bored and got nothing else to watch this is not bad. Otherwise put priority on ... some other anime.

This story centers around a super rich intelligent detective and another public detective. They have opposing personalities, yet they have to work together in order to solve mysteries and crimes around the city.

I feel like this is one of those animes that you watch for the main characters and not the story itself. Each episode has a "problem" and both of the main characters approach it with a different point of view. The comedy is a bit generic, but the characters are very likable, so you'll definitely enjoy watching it.

I really like the art as well. Kind of reminds me of Chinese anime, but ... better.

Character development: it better go from enemies-friends-lovers.

This series was very fun from start to finish! I was absolutely entertained, especially with the dynamics between Daisuke and Haru, but surprisingly I was also really amazed by the cool gadgets Daisuke used and how innovative they can be if they were real. The music was also really great, I consider it one of my faves and never skipped the OP and ED song.

I'm kinda let down by the denouement of the story, but I think I'll still be watching the second season, if there would be that. Although Daisuke was the reason why I decided to watch this series, the other characters eventually ... stuck to me as well. I wanted to know more about them, but unfortunately 11 episodes was definitely not long enough for that. Well, 11 episodes certainly wasn't long enough for the whole thing. I believe the anime could've been better if it was longer, say at least around 20+ episodes, because I think it'd give the characters a lot more time to grow as themselves or with their respective groups, hence leaving a longer lasting impression on me.

Everything about this show screams mediocrity. It's not very dreadful but it's not very good either. 6/10 is the best rating I could afford.
It's a detective, crime centered story where you have two main leads that have contrasting personality and values. This supposedly core theme didn't matter that much for the show anyway.
There were just too many plot holes and narrative defects that makes this plot impossible to rise above mediocrity.
Although Kato's and Daisuke's relationship dynamics was supposed to be the driving force, it wasn't interesting at all. Both of them pretty much remains the same with no character development.
I understand how ... they tried to make this show having a deep brilliant mystery of luxury and cop chasing but it's all very scattered and and underwhelming.

I couldn't care about most of the things that happened let alone the cardboard cutout characters. I feel like for a cop show like this it should've packed more energy. This show lacked life.

Daisuke is your rich asshat protagonist but with a sense of justice. His ridiculous actions is what kept the plot interesting and moving forward. But, I felt he lacked depth and his development was very superficial and shallow. I have to agree with others that his VA was quite bad. I did love the voice but the acting was terrible in my opinion. It was so monotonous without any emotions. If he gave a lecture I'd sleep in a minute.
Kato was also a lackluster character. His arc was not convincing at all. He knows he shot the girl in self defense, and his morals seems a bit ridiculous and makes a bad excuse for his character development which ultimately becomes boring and nil. And I don't get it, why exactly is his subordinate refusing to cooperate with him?

Speaking about logic, this show has more plot holes than the craters on the far side of the moon.
Who exactly is the head of the Kambe family?
Why is an important evidence like the photo album be considered useless just because the old lady refused to give it. Isn't it illegal to hide evidence?
If the grandma and Daisuke are the only main controlling heads of the Kambe family wouldn't he have figured this out earlier that she must be involved?
They say Kanbe family is shutting the police and such when it's just basically 2 people?
Who is Suzue Kanbe exactly? and what is her relationship with Daisuke? If she is a relative and relevant to the plot shouldn't there have been some explanation as to who she is. It's not like anyone would become a go to IT assistant in a wealthy billionaire family. And she has the Kanbe name?
And they gave no explanation about HEUSC AI and it's operational behaviors etc.
The other police detectives are useless. Oh and Suzue is there to fill the role of mandatory fanservice, just to give little explanation of behind the scenes while Daisuke and Haru saves the day. Yup, useless. I still don't understand what was all that lingerie shots in the op about. I don't care really but it was not relevant at all as in she never did or was going to do anything remotely seductive or sexy as the OP hints. You would think she would be some femme fatale who does some insane things but 90% of her dialogue is made of one word - Daisuke sama. That's it. After being called a relative by Daisuke, and how the mal describes her as his younger sister, the same time the OP shows Daisuke carrying her in a bridal style, their unexplained relationship for me was extremely uncomfortable and some times apprehensive to watch. Why is incest so stimulating in anime I wouldn't know, just assign a proper character description for her instead of walking between the lines. Either his love interest or a sister, which one is it?
Some random things happen here and there we don't know why and later they don't matter much to the plot anyway.
I liked the mystery family conflict but the execution of it was terrible as if someone didn't know how to make a good layered script. The twists were just thrown in your face and you don't feel the punch. oh wait, because I literally couldn't care for the characters.
They just solved a case but nothing came out of it.
It was really underwhelming. Ngl some of those millionaire gimmicks was just funny because it was just happening just because it can. it wasn't cool it was just funny Bruce wane wannabe.
All in all...
It's only a 11 episodes show, so it was alright for a good entertainment without much brain work, there's fairly good music, eye candy protagonists and some little mandatory fanservice enough not to keep you bored till you find something else to watch.

It's somewhere in the 6 - 7 - 8 range. The premise of the show was actually pretty good-- a workaholic righteous cop who had been demoted from a better precinct has to suddenly get along with the mysterious billionaire who all of a sudden decided to join their very-trashy precinct. They're good foils to each other, but I have to agree with the other review that they don't quite grow together over the series. Episode 10 is probably the best "growth" you'll see, but it's not as impactful as I feel it could've been. There are some good concepts mixed with terrible concepts, all ... with seemingly mediocre executions.

There's just something... lacking overall in the series. It's almost strange to call the filler episode the most enjoyable of the series. Fujoshi baiting aside, it was really neat to see characters outside of their element in a slice-of-life type of plot. This series really should've been more episodic slice-of-life rather than trying to fit this entire contrived plot because LET ME TELL YOU... the main story is actually trash. I was enjoying character moments despite thinking to myself, "oh my god this whole adollium thing is so stupid", so I'm pretty certain the story doesn't really give this series an edge like the directors expected it to.

Maybe the series could've benefited from a longer runtime, like more than 11 episodes and fitting in proper arcs. Like X amount of episodes dedicated to one arc, Y to another, Z to the last arc, and the last arc would be focusing on Daisuke's past whereas the others could be... individual arcs just to give some proper development to the buddy-cop relationship. As I see it, the filler episodes don't really do them justice. The organization of this series just feels downright sloppy in the end looking back. It could've used a lot of refining. Like when you write a first draft and you cut down a lot of stuff in the end because you realized those things were unnecessary in the first place. That's a lot of this series. I wish some of the bullshit could've been cut down to explore more interesting ideas or dynamics.

If a season 2 ever does get made, which I highly doubt, I really would like some growth for Katou. I love his character archetype, so maybe I'm biased, and I can definitely say he did change... A LITTLE. But for an entire series, it feels hollow considering we've been following this character for TWELVE EPISODES. Also, Suzue is useless. Fight me on this. Anyone who claims she is a "omg great female character" needs to get their head checked. She's not much more than eye candy with the lack of characterization she has, you know, other than her constantly whining over "Daisuke-sama!" Bruh, you guys really couldn't give her anything more to do, huh? :pensive:

Art - 7. Nothing special here. It does its job for the most part.
Sound - 8. Surprisingly alright!
Character - 7. Great setups, not a lot of follow-through, other characters completely neglected (cough cough the MCPTF)
Story - 5/6. The worst aspect :')
Enjoyment - 9. It was fun to watch, though.
Overall - 7

Ok so I really really loved the first two episodes and waited months for the third one. As others have said, it had a lot of wasted potential.
SPOILERS BELOW

Positives:
- I love the OP and ED so much esp the OP it's really hype HAHA
- Visuals for OP and ED are original and really nice
- Animation and art style is really great except for the last eps which were like,, chibi lol in that last ep when Haru was standing by the elevator like... why is the perspective so far do they not want to draw Haru HAHA
- Made me happy while watching and made ... me gasp tbh
- Allowed me to have something to look forward to on Friday 2am or Fridays lol
- I love how they incorporated that Haru falling off the bridge thing from the first ep in the last ep lmaooo Kambe is so mean

Negatives:
- The pauses starting from the first ep were really awkward for me like it just didn't work HAHA it might've been too long idk
- Voice acting of Daisuke could've been better but it wasn't bad either knowing this is the debut role of the seiyuu
- Bad animation towards the end like far view on the boat when Haru while climbing up the ladder while the people with guns just stared at him and when Haru was standing by the elevator at the last ep
- Things that didn't make sense like they could've just shot Haru as he climbed up the ladder lmaooo
- How did Haru just jump up that platform as he was being blast away?? But ok

Overall: It was really that great of a show and it had wasted potential. It's not bad either, though. It's a pretty ok one. They just could've done more with the story. I emjoyed watching all the episodes, though, just not necessarily all the scenes lol. 7/10

I don't know how some people are writing off this series on episode 4, WHILE acknowledging how good the start was. This is not supposed to be an all-comedy, all-mystery show. That just sounds like a mishmash of genres to me. "The comedy in the middle episodes are not up to par with episode 1 (paraphrasing)?" Yeah, of course not. They are trying to build up the characters into a serious, layered mystery plot. Forcing in jokes is not the way to go.

Balance: Unlimited is honestly my unexpected anime-of-the-season contender. It has likable characters, well distributed humour, and unexpectedly good action scenes. Heck, even the ... cliff-hangers draw you in.

My favorite part of the series is the way the creators managed to meld the realistic setting with the fantasy-like aspects of the plot, like the infinite wealth of Kambe. On top of providing a rationale for who pays for all of the damages when stuff gets blown up (which very few anime do), it introduces a comedic flavour to the cause with the "Damages Incurred in this Episode" bill at the end of each episode.

All in all, I am at episode 7 right now and I'm enjoying the heck out of this series. I don't usually review anime but I felt like I had to seeing some people criticizing the series just for the sake of saying something and sounding smart about it.

This is a thrill to watch.

The first few episodes are quite random in nature following no real structure, they are exciting and fit the show perfectly. Generally, a bit of harmless fun to immerse you into the world. However, this transitions into a quite frankly, meagre story arc.

This story arc starts off interesting but by the end you're left dumbfounded by the gaping plot-holes. It's watchable but it definitely ruins the entire thing. I don't even think you fully understand it all by the end, quite a shame really.

The main characters are great, very likable, although more development was needed.

Sound and animation fit it quite ... nicely, nothing lacking here at all.

Rating this above seven is impossible unless you have some sort of emotional attachment. If the story was better fleshed out, with more character development, removing most of the plot holes it could easily be 8,9/10.

I've never been so fucking pissed off to watch something whilst enjoying it at the same time. It was well-directed, the voice acting was great, the plot twists were obvious but played off well.

But Daisuke learned nothing, and I want him to get beat up. I want him to be seriously injured just *once*. Just for a little bit of humility to stick with him. Just something to show that he's truly changing due to his partner's influence.

No, I can't have that. I can't have anything. I feel like I watched Psycho-Pass 2 all over again, except this time I was just plain baffled rather ... than disappointed.

Would recommend to anyone who likes cop dramas, and smug a-holes getting away with everything with next to no repercussions.

Keiji escaped: Balance: Unlimited is another series of detectives whose initial objective was to demonstrate the contrast between a detective who thinks he solves everything with money and another who is more "human". Such a proposal was strangely new and was made well throughout the series due to the high charisma of Daisuke and Haru. The duo can load the series extremely easily, but only 2 characters aren't able to do that. Unfortunately this anime was postponed due to covid after a few episodes after the release, which I believe affected the central part of the anime, leaving everything very fast and the final mystery ... with little screen time.

It can be said that the biggest mistake of this anime was to have only 11 episodes, because the producers were not able to balance between the millionaire detective's comedy and the final suspense properly.

The sound part of this anime is beautiful, both the opening and ending are easily the best of this year, there is also that Daisuke theme song that plays whenever he appears, managing to make you smile every time. About animation and design I don't have much to say except that the 2 are fantastic

Escaped Keiji is a fun work to watch, with charismatic characters and a plot that, despite being busy, still manages to be interesting.

When it comes to character development, I like how it heavily focuses on the 2 main protagonists. I personally hate it when an anime is dragged out by explaining the supporting characters' back story. Although it is nice to learn about the side characters, I believe it shouldn't take away from learning about the main characters and their personalities. In every episode that I've seen so far, it either informs the audience of the past of the 2 main protagonists, explains their personalities and morals, points out their flaws, and ... shows how the 2 characters change and adapt to each other; gaining each others trust. Even when the show goes into the past of the supporting characters, it all ties back to the main plot and the 2 main protagonists.

One slight issue I have with the anime is that I don't think it properly explains exactly where the infinite amounts of money are coming from and why Daisuke's grandma gave him access to all that money so he can go out and shoot smoke bombs at the FBI.

The music and the style of art were ok. The intros and outros were different from your usual anime intros and outros, but it didn't really stand out to me.

Overall, it's not mind-blowing, but it's entertaining and enjoyable. It's a nice anime to binge-watch when you've run out of things to watch.
