Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Gou

Both of the anime has many amazing gore scenes, not only that the concept of the both anime are almost same in a different way. 

(Hopefully if you are watching Gou you already know Ni, Kai, Rei, if you see this and dont know the Higurashi series, stat with Ni) Both focus around a single character who for completely different reason's have a blessing/curse that allows these stories to build, titillate and inform you in a very unique experience. The main Difference between Rika and Subaru, Subaru is ALWAYS the main character. Where as the whole series of Higurashi focuses on different members of the club depending on the arc. Both shows are extremely captivating, dark, emotional, thrilling and quite gorry.  

What might look as a cute girls anime at first quickly turns into a horror as the main character is continuously time-looping in effort to find a way to save her friends from terrible fate - in an effort to fight against the force that is continuously ruining the timeline. So yeah, if you enjoy the mix of cute and terror, these two anime might interest you. 

Sadly also Homura has no happy time... 

The two are very similar in that the storytelling is focused on one of the main characters across multiple episodes with chapters & parts. However, it is different if Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Gou will return to the beginning when the chapter ends while Munou na Nana continues to move forward. I highly recommend this one, if you like one of them. You will also enjoy both. 

If you like a good mystery/thriller like Yakusoku, Higurashis definitly one for you.  

Both are psychological and get confusing if you don't pay attention fully to what's happening. Really serious and don't focus on visually pleasing character designs.
