Protagonist is constantly looping through time trying to get the best possible result. This time loop is triggered by their death.

Cute girls doing cute things but the things aren't cute they're SCARY! Twisted narratives that keep you guessing where this wild and tragic ride is going.

both have horror/thriller aspects. Higurashi is definitely more violent but the suspense in munou na nana gives me higurashi vibes tbh

Both seem cute and easygoing on the surface but get darker and more disturbing later on.

Dementia anime that are about the psychological (and in parts physical) suffering of a female protagonist.

So, do you like seeing the characters suffer? Being pushed to their utmost psychical limit, to the point of almost giving up, yet continuing anyway to undo the terrible fate of their close ones, as the protagonists are caught up in seemingly inescapable time loop, looking for the ideal timeline? If yes, watch these two anime.

Mystery & thriller genre, Both have characters that are similar to 1 male MC & many female characters, Denpa-teki na Kanojo takes a city setting & Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Gou takes a village setting. With similar vibes, the atmosphere changes from comfortable to dark, there are many murder mysteries & some incidents that may not show the truth.

Higurashi Gou and Boogiepop Phantom are mystery anime taking place in a single story with a connected set of characters. They're both also horror and have some of the same gross out creepy aspects while maintaining a good atmosphere at times. If you like one you'll like the other.

Both are psychological and have a mystery undertone with them. Both start off pretty simple and happy but as they go on it gets much darker.

both are gory horrors that use a cheerful theme to make the horror stand out more, although higurashi uses a cheerful animation and oblivious characters to utilize the shock factor, mirai nikki (the future diary) uses a cute psychopathic girl whose not at all effected by the killing/remains cheerful. honestly there both a little lacking on plot and development but will satisfy the need for a gory, violent, horror when your in that kinda mood and there a lot of fun to watch.

Psychological horror, what's better? Both also have blood and guts though, if that's your thing. And lolis.

Both are very unique in how they built around the idea of the show being a remake, when in fact both are questionably sequels or reboots.

These two shows finally make a connection in terms of lore.

Blood C(NOT THE MOVIE) is a fabricated scenario of gore built around the heroine.
