Rail Romanesque

The year is 1989. After the nation of Hinomoto was destabilized during the past World War, the rise of new technologies has enabled its revitalization. Modern engineering has given birth to aircraft, gasoline engines, and geomagnetic technology—revolutionizing transportation. Railroads have been rendered nearly obsolete and replaced by more efficient modes of transit.

However, a group of lively "Raillords" aims to renew the railroads' former glory. The Raillords, personified as energetic and spirited girls, act as humanoid control modules for their assigned railways. They meet in Ohitoyo City for the Raillord Summit, headed by Suzushiro, a Raillord from Manoka Railways. Together, the group capitalizes on its teamwork to get the railroads back on track, ushering in a "new railroad age."

Ohh Yes Japan At It again Making waifus Out of something That will Sound literally hilarious to, Guess what the culprit this time is No need to go far thinking its in the name of the anime itself they are trains. The characters as depicted in the anime does not seem very old(what we call legal-loli smh) But these are Very experienced girls Who work in The rail field or what we say related to trains. As we know this is a short anime so the content explored is little so don't go expecting a plot In this anime. This anime depicts A rail ... summit Conducted in-order to Increase the sales Regarding the Area of each raillord(the main characters are called this cause they are girls which are trains).We have a great moderator who handles the summit she is extremely charming and cute Not to mention she handles them well and handles her puns really well. And finally What happens in these short placed episodes is Interaction of other raillords to create a Sales method to increase sales in their area. They are divided into teams of two( total 8 members so 4 teams).This anime somehow concludes after their Cute discussions and finally some good ending scenes depicted elegantly. This anime dont have an opening song just an okayish ending theme .Anyway that concludes it it was a good watch Depending on how you see and its full of trains wheeee

Mixed Feelings

Do you like trains? Now, do you LIKE like trains? Then have I got the anime for you! Rail Romanesque was an odd experience, and while it meets most standards of production quality, it's just so specific. It serves as a testament to the sheer variety of anime out there, and proves that if there's a niche to be filled then there's going to be something to fill it! Then when I found out this is a spin-off of an eroge visual novel, it felt as though I briefly lost my grip on reality. There are countless rabbit holes in ... the world of anime, a great many of them weird, and this is indeed one of them. It's a train waifu anime, presented to the viewer without a hint of irony. Beginning with the story, if you can call it that, there's not much to see really. It's a barebones concept, with the girls going on little adventures and coming up with merchandising ideas for their various trains and rail lines. It is unclear if the Raillords (the train themed waifus in question) are themselves biological or mechanical, since they seem to eat coal and are once referred to as 'manufactured', but in the interludes they write about them being assigned to rail lines in order to save them from diminishing ridership and there is a bath scene where they appear completely human, so it's hard to tell.

The art is the strength of this anime, but not a particularly impressive strength. I was drawn in because the uniforms seemed interesting and hinted at unique worldbuilding, but once I was in there was no reason not to stay for the other 36 minutes of the season. It's colorful and fun, but nothing out of the ordinary.

The sound is similarly boilerplate, with simple, light music throughout and standard quality voice acting.

The characters are a little simple and I had no real investment in them, but if I had to choose my favorites, they would be the bug-obsessed Riiko and the group tsundere Beni. Overall, I can only really recommend this if you like trains to the point of deriving joy from their mere essence being distilled into waifu form.

Rail Romanesque has very little positive to present, and that's it's biggest fault.

The story to Rail Romanesque follows several girls who've become conductors for their locality's trains. They meet to form a plan to revive the use of rail. The story is stupidly simple and presented over 12 - 5 minute episodes. Be expected to be shocked by what you get, as it's quite different from what you're thinking.

Art is average all around and there is nothing worth noting. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't memorable either. The same goes for sound. Acting is perfectly fine, but there is nothing worth noting. Music is completely ... unmemorable. The same applies to characters as well.

If you like trains, you'll find very little of it in this anime. If you're looking for a new Waifu, you may find it here, but that's about all you're watching. Each girl does have a unique personality and style.
