Synopsis

Megalo Box is an advanced form of boxing where competitors wear metal frames called Gear. When the first ever Megalonia tournament took place, "Gearless" Joe became its champion and known to all as a legendary fighter. However, soon after, he lost an exhibition match against the second champion and vanished from the public eye.

Seven years later, Joe now goes by "Nomad" and keeps a low profile, occasionally fighting in a few underground matches to get by. He is haunted by hallucinations and relies on a set of painkillers to numb his mind.

During a match, Joe wins against an opponent, Chief, who purposefully loses for some extra cash from gamblers. Subsequently, Joe discovers that Chief is from a community of immigrants called the Casa. Chief is gradually trying to make enough money to purchase the land where they live illegally. At first, Joe hesitates to get involved, but eventually decides to lend the Casa a helping hand.

nomad: megalo box season 2 is not your typical anime of the season
season 1 was very good because of the soundtrack and animation, season 2 took every other aspect of the anime and took it to a whole another level,
the story feels vert real not dark but real, the amount of care put into these characters is insane, i especially liked the guy Cheif, in few episodes he managed to be one of my favourite anime characters, mainly because he reminds me of someone i know who has a similar story.

our main character also seem to have some sort of character development, Marla read more

Megalo Box [NOMAD] manages to feel totally different compared to the first season. "Gearless" Joe, begins his new journey, which unlike his initial trajectory where the protagonist was only looking for victory and title, here is presented a more "human" view of Joe himself and his search for redemption to his own past, this is Joe's fight with himself. One thing I will never understand is why Megalobox is so unknown to the majority of the public, I really hope that in the future this work will reach a larger number of viewers for its potential.

Nomad: Megalobox 2 reminds me of what made me want to watch the first season when it first aired. This is a short, concise review about what makes Nomad a sequel superior to the original in every aspect...

The first season of Megalobox was a fun watch though forgettable. The premise was not incredibly original as it was a regular boxing anime with the only added element being the Gears. But the show was still entertaining enough because of the designs, the mood of it, the amazing score, and the incredible directing of Yo Moriyama. However, the overall plot felt like a rehashed of so many read more

Story: 8/10
If you prefer a story-driven or a character-driven anime then this show's got you covered in both areas so far. The story's good, it revolves around a rags to riches to rags theme and I like the direction its heading at.

Art and Sound: 8/10
The art is more or less the same from the first season but the sound is noticeably somber in comparison to the first season's upbeat genre and it matches well with the story and characters.

Character: 8/10:
The characters are well-rounded and I'd say that this is where the show's best at. The little moments where the characters reflect really did the read more
