Maou Gakuin no Futekigousha: Shijou Saikyou no Maou no Shiso, Tensei shite Shison-tachi no Gakkou e Kayou

Honestly, we haven't found out much as of yet but I'm liking where it's headed. I believe that the story might rise or fall when more details are revealed but I'm excited to see what awaits us at each bend. This has the making to be an excellent anime with enough open-ended questions that the world building could be expanded to challenge all our preestablished thoughts on what is going on. The characters are kind of typical; overpowered MC with an ever-building harem, Misha a rather quiet girl that gets outcast and Sasha, a tsundere in the making?

Definitely looking forward to the newer episodes and ... how my thoughts will change with them but as far as a recommendation goes I'd recommend this anime to anyone that likes the typical cliches in anime.

Honestly, anyone can be forgiven for thinking it's another generic isekai (do in theory it isn't) like isekai cheat magician.

I have to state, I am an big fantasy and magic anime fan, so you can expect a bit of bias.

The story, characters and action are all mediocre, I dont think you'll loose hair due to them but I can't say in any way they're great. But honestly, I don't think the creators intended this to be a tate no yuusha. The show has made me laugh more than any other 13 episode anime. If you were meant to laugh, I can't say but ... that doesn't matter because it does. I will note, there are 2 characters I love in this anime, and those are anos his parents. I wont specify why but they just work.
The story is generic and is one of those where everything happens in a way to further the story. Characters growth doesn't really exist. But that doesn't mean I hate the characters. Even do they're backstories aren't good, even do there are typical harem girls everywhere, even do half of the side characters only get 1 scene. They still feel closer to hart than many other anime of the kind with the same flaws. Anos isn't just an OP MC like hachi-nan's MC. The girls aren't just harem simp girls who have no reason to exist.
TLDR: Nothing here is great, but much of it just works.

I recommend this anime ON the condition your a fan of the genre. And I do feel I have to say this, your sense of humor must allign with the anime. I fully get why people hate this anime. But I really don't think they understood where the enjoyment is in this anime.
If you are looking for something of the sort but better in most every way, watch shield hero (tate no yuusha) or fairy tail. They are great animes (do many will debate how good fairy tail is) worth your time.

Anos Voldigoad the main character of this series may seem like an overpowered self insert character, but he is not. He has an actual personality and a reason for doing what he does. He was never a fan of war but due to circumstances beyond his control he couldn't stop a war from happening between all of the races, and the pent up hate which the races had because of this war didn't make it easier to stop it so he ... and with the help of the hero made walls between the lands of the 4 races and after some time they would disappear rendering all the pent up hatred to history. The reason why he did this is a spoiler so I won't tell you about it but there is one and it makes a lot of sense.

<Comedy>

This anime comedy is best described as a serious comedy. Its the type of comedy where something absurd happens but everyone is dead serious, e.g.
Your teacher visiting you at Christmas wearing speedos and your parents greet him and they are having a conversation about your math grades.
This is an example of what kind of comedy you should expect. (This thing doesn't happen in the anime its made up)

The characters and the world have a lot of detail to them and the fight/action scenes are animated to a very good level.

This anime will hook you in the very first episode so I implore you to watch it.

The anime is not even finished and people are leaving 1 star reviews? I know we are all having issues right now in the current state of the world, especially with not as much new anime coming out BUT A 1 STAR?! Whoever takes the time to write a review for 1 star needs to get a life. The artists that take the time to make these stories come to life for everyone don't deserve this disrespect. Though I do not take the time to usually write reviews, I could not idly stand by and let someone talk sh*t. I am not saying it needs ... to be rated highly as I have, but at the very least you could have said mediocre. Some people like vanilla ice cream and some like Rocky road ice cream. To anyone who is reading the reviews, don't knock it until you try it. It's up to you as the viewer to come to your own conclusions.

I really like this anime. I get One Punch Man vibes mixed with The Devil is a Part-timer! Also that fact that I got a kiss ALREADY?! Like is this real-life?! I can't say if I am head over heels for this anime yet as it is not finished and granted, I also get a "Cautious Hero: The Hero Is Overpowered but Overly Cautious" feel as well (minus the ecchi-ness), but I thoroughly enjoyed it so far. It's actually gory at parts and I was like, "Oh wow that was brutal" and then they got revived. Then I was like "Oof got me again". It is not just complete perverted comedy either. I feel like this has more of a story with twists and turns at every corner. The main character (Voldigoad, Anos) was always another step ahead and I never saw it coming. Kinda like a chess game as in, "No Game No Life" did with its series. I was a gaping mouth at the story planning in that anime honestly. Sorry about my babbling!!! Anyway, "The Misfit of Demon King Academy" did not have the classic and annoying, "repeating fight/pull out a sword, say catchphrase" scene which I also really appreciated. I am excited about what they are going to do with the rest of the series. If you liked any of the mentioned anime I listed, I know you'll at the very least find enjoyment in this series. I will not go into detail about every aspect in terms of grading, but I just wanted to chip in my two cents.

This series is excellent for those who want a mockery of the basic demon king/ main character dies and is reborn trope (this series isn't technically an isekai). Quite frankly, this series is hilarious to watch because of how insanely OP the main character is, he's essentially the child of Ainz Ooal Gown and Saitama with Goku's powers put into a world full of magic-using plebs.

Plot: 5/10

If you came here for a fantastic plot, then this isn't the show for you. I can't tell if this show is either ironically a mockery of the demon king troupes in anime or just a washed-up piece ... of shit. Despite this, I often find myself looking at this show as a comedy so I can laugh at the magnitude of the absurdity going on throughout the episodes. I noticed a few reviewers mentioned that the show skipped some content already, which isn't a huge issue. However, this resulted in awkward pacing as we're just at a magical school within the first few minutes of the show.

Art: 8/10

Not much to say quite frankly. It's clear the studio put in the effort, but it's not something eye-catching like an Aragi art syle. However, the art has clearly defined characters and fight scenes without a single use of CGI as of now except for that castle scene (That castle scene was funny asl tho, so imma throwing in an extra point ;) ). If you want to watch just one scene from this show, then check out that castle scene!
Sound: 7/10

Great intros, outros, VA's, and the fight scenes sound great. That's about it.

As for the characters, the MC is the only one who piques my interest, don't expect to find any waifus. The two twin girls our MC first meets are "bland and blander," and the first of our servants for the demon king looks like a catholic pope who turned edgy by wearing skulls and, for some reason, has a metallic mouth on his neck. The demon king is the star of the show, so don't pay any of the other characters much heed. Like I said earlier, watch this show for the comedic value, don't watch it expecting the next Rem, Zoro, Goku, or Light Yagami.

Enjoyment: 10/10

On a level of comedic genius as the likes of Kono Suba.

How to make a series with an OP MC interesting? You write and surround them with amazing supporting characters with unique quirks and personalities. You balance the MC's screen time with them and voila, you have an enjoyable series that doesn't feel bland. That's what Maou Gakuin gave us and why it was my second favourite show of the season after Re:Zero.

Yes, Anos is extremely overpowered and it's the familiar fantasy setting, but there's a reason the light novels and anime have been so highly received and I promise you this is different from your usual OP fantasy. The supporting characters really make this series ... shine and will provide immense enjoyment. Everyone who knows me knows that I am extremely anti-tsundere. So for a character like Sasha to catch my fancy, requires some seriously good writing. Both she and her sister, Misha were a double whammy for me, really made my Saturdays enjoyable and gave me something to look forward to.

In addition to really done characters, Maou Gakuin has some awesome art. Something about the character designs that just really made the show feel unique as well. Animation is extremely solid as well as you've come to expect from Silverlink and the show's humour consistently landed with me.

The aforementioned reasons made Maou Gakuin an extremely fun watch and the show I looked forward to most at the weekends. Anos and co. get 9 demonic eyes out of 10.

TL;DR: Don't be hesitant because the MC is OP, there's great side characters, a cool story and great chemistry among the cast that makes this a very enjoyable watch and separates it from traditional stories of this type. I promise you, I've seen them all.

The reviews and rating of this anime doesn't match, showing how unreliable MAL's one or the other can be. Nonetheless, I will be defending the rating side this time as I too enjoyed this anime and wish to share my love and allow the same people as I to get into this anime and not get a bad impression from the negative reviews.

Strictly saying, Maou Gakuin no Futekigousha: Shijou Saikyou no Maou no Shiso, Tensei shite Shison-tachi no Gakkou e is just another OP MC anime with a little effort of uniqueness ( the concept of “the Demon King is actually kinda good” ) provided ... in hope that it would make the story better but that concept has already slowly become about as generic as its opposite because it's overused ( at least from my perspective and experience ) and this anime is fundamentally pretty much just a copy of The Irregular At Magic High School with a lot less talking. But hey, all these points can be seen as positive things or easily take no notice of.

Sometimes a lot of things can be shoved aside for contentment. I don’t know how you define masterpiece but for me it simply means good. The number 2 - 9 are simply there to make the contentment more efficient to portray but I no longer am a part of that usage of efficiency. Call me The Bias Man, but I only know what’s good is good and what’s bad is bad. All I strive for is contentment and so long as I feel content, everything else I don’t give a single shit. With that said, this anime is good. Why?

- the concept of “the Demon King is actually kinda good” isn’t repetitive enough for me to get bored of it yet.
- OP Mc is always fun for me as a huge fan of many RPG games such as D&D.

This anime does not need any improvements except it would probably be way better with better quality, art and animation. Overall a very fun show to watch and probably one of the more “acceptable” OP Mcs out there which isn’t just outright outrageous, uncomfortable or unwatchable. Yeah I've seen some negative comments but I don't care,why? Because Freaking love this anime! The main character is overpowered and incredible. I ain't good at explaining stuff so this review is probably making me look like a fanboy which i probably am that this point LOL. This anime has me at the edge of my seat. I really enjoy it a lot for some reason. It's been a long time since an anime has pumped me up this much. The characters i do believe could be written better but honestly, I love the main character too much. He has his badass moments and is ... very helpful to the supporting characters. Give it a try and you might enjoy it. I heard the light novel is better and I definitely will check that out but right now i'm very grateful that I decided to watch this. This series has blood in it too. I just want more lol. There's some emotional moments in the series too.

tl;dr this whole anime was literally only a deus ex machina.

If you were looking for anything with a plot, character development, or decent action, don't watch. The plot was "OMG we have a huge problem," then Anos going "dw bro i got a spell to cover that." Now, I'm not saying it's no fun if you always win; Overlord and other broken MC animes like Tensei Shitara Slime manage to balance it out with other factors.

A flawless MC like Anos is boring, no character development of side characters took more than a single half ... of an episode, and Anos's abilities destroy what little plot there was.

Only watch this if you just want some good-guys-always-win gratification.

As of September 26th, I have been watching The Misfit of Demon Academy for 13 weeks. Now I only watch one episode a week, but it has changed me irrevocably. This anime haunts my vision, night after night, all I see is Anos violently slaughtering his classmates with a flick of his finger or a heartbeat. They instantly explode in a burst of blood, then he reincarnates them. No one ever dies. There are no stakes.
Everything that happens in the world gratifies him. Anos even has his own Fanclub of girls who pray to him like he's a God. Even though his harem of a dozen women has powers, they are useless compared to him. He ALWAYS saves them. Now I just need him to save me too. I can't get this shit out of my head. I can't get out of bed. I'm dependent on this awful anime to function. I thought if I watched more it would make me stay awake. But the more I watch it, the more I wish I could fall asleep.

People said this anime is satire because it cuts out all the typical power fantasy bullshit. It doesn't waste time pretending to be deeper than it is. Except, that isn't satire. It isn't subverting anything. It is all the same. The main character is overpowered, all of the girls love him, there's a tsundere, all of the villains are evil for the sake of it. I can't for the life of me understand how someone who disliked Kenja no Mago or Isekai wa Smartphone would like this. If you want pure power fantasy injected straight into your veins, watch this. You will love it. Anyone who watches this show with their brain turned on will realize it's fucking garbage.

Once being reincarnated, Anos discovers that hybrid demons like him are an oppressed race. They are subservient to pureblood demons. Anos' fan club/idol group sings a song to empower the hybrid race, to protest their oppressors. Except, the hybrids tell the purebloods to "Know your place," which doesn't combat discrimination. It only replaces it with more racism. Good job! Anos Voldigoad ended racism with more racism! Anos tries to be funny, but all of his jokes fall flat. He always sounds bored and his face never changes. It's like he has a full-house, and he needs to make a poker face. Everyone loves him, he is endlessly powerful, and he slaughters foes with no effort. He pauses after a one-liner like he's waiting for the audience to applaud or laugh. Whoever wrote this light novel needs to not write comedy anymore. I'm sorry your parents never said you're not funny. You unironically wrote a story that congratulates narcissism and racism. This is one of the most shallow, illogical, and condescending anime I've ever watched. Now, where's my apology?

The Misfit of Demon King Academy made me exhausted. My life has been ruined because I sleep so much. I've tried to stop watching, but if I skip an episode, I can't fall asleep for the rest of the week. Attempting to stop watching it cold turkey caused me to feel extreme withdrawal. My heart races, my ears ring, I get constant migraines, and I violently vomit. I feel like worms are chewing through my mind. I cannot describe how much I hate this show. Don't make the same mistake I did. The Misfit of Demon King Academy is so bad it will literally rot your brain.

It'd be a shame if people skip this show because of the low reviews because it is an absurd amount of fun. Key word being 'absurd'. Is the main protagonist overpowered? Sure, but not just op. He's ridiculously op and the resulting conflicts can be quite hilarious. If you like to take every anime you watch super-seriously then this one ain't the one.

There's not a whole lot going on with the story (yet) either and I'm fine with that. The question of whether Anos can regain his status is entirely secondary to making friends, helping people and making ... his over-the-top doting parents proud. It doesn't need to be much more than that. Just a funny romp with some touching moments that will get to the "main" story eventually, I guess.

I like animes with OPMC so this will be a positive review (and because Anos is cool).
The art is really pretty, probably one of my favourite art styles this season. It has a very modern look with beautiful colour variations. The characters all look unique, so you won't ever be confused between characters

There were some cringy parts in the story line, but it doesn't give of an awkward harem vibe so it's bearable. It doesn't happen in all episodes anyway so you can kinda ignore those parts.

As for music, the opening theme song was really catchy! ... I usually skip the openings, but I was sometimes drawn to the visuals and song too much that I forgot to skip them.

Very well made power fantasy. It is like watching One Punch Man, but with him finally finding what matters to him personally (except finding someone as strong as him, no luck so far in manga). It is also a nice gag. I hope they dont manage to ruin it just at the end (like Overcautious Hero).

I noticed quite a few negative reviews, but I would like to point out that this is for most part not what they claim it is. First, is this typical isekai? He is reincarnated into his own world, nothing changed. He didnt even steal some nobody's body. He is also ... not born into better world, he just switched time, no "otaku -> OP" transition. He is even a newborn. And for character ... is he in any way unreasonable? He even resurrects his enemies and tells them to take better care of their relatives they just killed. In his fight with god I had no doubt he will win, because it is not about "will he", but "how will use his power". It is nice to see that someone with power would be as responsible and genuinely nice as he is as of time of writing. He also got his harem competion and this sword guy is practically as nice and great as he is, but they are just best buddies. There is even many quite blatant homo jokes in 5. episode between those two that aren't frowned upon, so who that would just like to blow otakus would make those? It is there for fun and it is fun, including his name being Anos, which he even himself laughs at as you only need to mispronounce it a little bit to get something entirely different and Mr. Anos isnt afraid to have little bit of fun from being ridiculed for sake of his name, he probably even chose it himself. For now, I just have a great time at this well made anime.

If you take this show seriously, this show is awful, but as a parody of the op mc genre with decent animation, a solid op and in all honesty likeable mc, it works so well

Story: This isnt really the point, but the story is at least engaging enough to keep you in, and the worldbuiling itself is actually interesting. there is an attempt to create a history of the the kingdom and to a degree they try to make some logic to the magic, but considered seriously, the story does not hold up as a classic

Characters: Anos Voldigoad is the man. Despite being arrogant and ... a know it all, Anos is surprrisingly likeable, with his attempts at humour being quite endearing. He also seems to be a believable person, disregarding his absolutely insane power. He cares for his friends and in general tends to act more like a real person than your standard op main character show. The supporting cast is not so brilliant really, with the execptions being Lay and Anos' parents. Anos' parents are one of the better jokes in the show, and the fact they treat him like a child paired with his total and completely busted dominance of every single problem in the show makes for what actually becomes hilarious jokes. Lay is also somewhat interesting, with his nonchalant conversations with Anos breaking up his usual conversations where people essentially bow down to his op abilities. The necron sisters are plain and generic, but that is the point to a degree and although they aren't much, they do enough to play off Anos and make for some decent humour.

Animation: Not bad but not an artwork. The animation won't detract from the experience, but you wont be watching it solely because of it either.

Plotting: Non-existant. There is almost no plot execpt to show off how busted Anos is, and that is why it is brilliant. The whole point of the show is too allow Anos to demolish people in insane fashion. from spinning a castle on his finger (my personal favourite) so beating a guy up by blinking, where this show excells is in its stupidity. Taken as a serious attempt at a story, its comepletely and utterly terrible, but if interpreted as satire (its not explicitly said but the show is so outrageous that it must be) it is a refreshingly straightfoward fantasy which isnt trying to be a complex story and just wants you to laugh at how stupid it is.

Conclusion: For critics and people looking for the perfect anime, this is not it, but for people who think op main characters are stupid and love to hate over the top writing and characters (like me), you'll have alot of fun with this show.

The Misfit of Demon King Academy features an interesting twist on the classic tropes of overpowered protagonists and battles between human heroes and demon kings. It manages to avoid the pitfall of having a boring main character that uses their world-breaking powers to cover up their lack of a character, and uses it's generally well-rounded cast of characters to form a decent metaphor about racism and classism. On top of that, there's a consistent layer of subtle comedy, well-animated fight scenes and a good deal of world-building.

Story/Writing 8/10
The story, while I personally found that it could've been a bit more engaging in some areas, is ... pretty well thought out. It spins a tale of a genuinely amazing historic figure not getting the recognition and respect he deserves once he gets reincarnated, and how the actions of the few may horrifically distort history to the point that it makes society worse in the future. While at first it looks like a generic school setting, it manages to set itself apart from the overdone tropes the setting is often associated with, and it leaves that setting later on. There's a overhanging narrative about the evils and consequences of racism and classism, and while I do think it's good that the anime addresses them at all, I think it doesn't go quite far enough. Still, there's a good bit to like here.

Characters 9/10
This anime has a subtle comedic tone, and it's characters sell it quite well. First, I want to address the OP main character himself, Anos. The ever-smirking Demon King has some of the typical characteristics of an OP protagonist; Arrogance to spare, condescending to pretty much everyone who dares interact with him, and absolute bullshit powers. However, these traits aren't as one-dimensional as they may seem; Anos truly cares about his allies and the world in general despite his title of Demon King, and he doesn't display his arrogance and condescension a lot at all to anyone who doesn't deserve it. He has power and knowledge far surpassing his peers, and yet he generally doesn't show it unless the situation calls for it, at which point he pretty much shows off. He truly seems like a wise king who truly cares about his own people, though he might put people who seriously wrong him or other good people through hell in order to get them to seriously think about what the hell they've been doing. He also really seems to like his mother's mushroom gratin. Good on you, Anos.
Outside of that however, the rest of the cast manages to dig themselves a good spot as well. I liked the Necron sisters and their main arc in particular, though I wish that Sasha didn't stay a tsundere for the rest of the show.

Nothing bad, but not much outstanding either. It was nice watching the (sometimes rather short) fight scenes, and the designs were nice to look at. I may also like cat form Ivis a lot. I like cats.

All of the above things made for a show I generally liked quite a bit, and it made me excited to watch the second season. As someone who believes a show has to be enjoying above all things, The Misfit of Demon King Academy is a win in my book. There's not much else to say here.

All in all, this show was an enjoyable thing to binge-watch on a Sunday afternoon, and I'm glad it didn't fall into the pitfalls of the genre it follows. I'll be gladly awaiting the completion of the second season.

I can't say that Maou Gakuin no Futekigousha was the worst thing I saw in the year, but it also didn't convince me to continue watching.

What pleased me and made me watch the anime until its 9th episode was an irony in this generic formula of an overlord character who appeared to be building something new. I really believed when watching the first episode that the anime was going to try to deconstruct something working with that genre, but in reality it was just the anime totally lost without any articulation. The anime did not propose anything during the rest of the episodes, and I ... just ate away to try to finish it, until at last I decided to give up.

First of all I just want to say that this anime is a SATIRE COMEDY and you should watch it as one too, since if you try to watch this anime like it's a serious anime and take it very seriously, you will probbably be dissapointed and cry about like a little b*tch after leaving it a 1 star review like a degenerate. If you actually take it as a comedy, you will probbably have a good time and enjoy it quite a bit. That being said I can now write my review.

So at the beginning I thought that it was just gonna be another ... trashy harem anime like any other magic-highschool show out there, just a bit more funny and comedic, but I was pleasantly surprised, that it was actually way better that that. The MC actually has a character and no stupid character traits and is way more than just your pure hearted harem protagonist, he is very cool calm and collected, while still being such a badass. The side characters are at times a bit poorly written, but that has never killed off the mood and they still felt at least OK. First few episodes might feel a bit weird, but quite quickly you get used to it and grow to love it. The show getts really interesting and entertaining to watch after the first few episodes. As I have already said before, this anime is not supposed to be taken too seriously since it is meant to be seen as a comedy and is very satire, however it can be taken at least a bit seriously afer the first few parts, when there is a sort of a story that builds up and you can start to follow. Overall this anime is a power fantasy trash, while not really being trash at all. I've had so many good laughs (almost pissed myself from laughter a few times) while watching this anime and I can recommend it to whoever wants to just watch a good comedy/romance/action anime (though there is actually very little romance), to relax, not use their brain too much and just have a good laugh out of it, but if you are not into that kind sateric comedy, you should stay away since that is mostly what is going on in this show. It was surely one of the best and my favorite animes that I have seen in a long time.

He summed it up perfectly. It's refreshing to watch strong admirable qualities in a character. I find it useful and inspiring.

"Discrimination due to heritage is a big one. Anos once again pushes progressiveness under the banner of "Your worth should be from your own merit and labor, not something you are born with". He proves it with action time and time again.

People will have their prejudice against you even if they see how capable you are because of some deep rooted "racist" beliefs. Anos' good name is slandered by people who know nothing, but does he lose his mind? No, he completely understands where they're coming from so he continues on with his day.

He wants to show other people his version of the truth, but does not obsess about it and simply lives in the present. Truly encompasses the "it is what it is" attitude."

Power is not the goal here, it's a tool (a really big one). Anos while pursuing a goal, considers it mainly a side quest. His main focus is to live a normal life where an era of war has not given him the luxury of."

So I know most of you think that rating this 10 is a bit much and I disagree with you.

The way I see it there has been a lot of Demon Lord Anime that I have watched and you may have watched some of them and you know the generic stuff the MC is OverPowered and one-shots almost anything in his path to whatever he wants.

So In this anime (spoilers) The Demon King this time is basically OverPowered beyond compare like the things he does in this is pretty surprising and Out of most Demon Lord anime, this certainly stands atop them all ... for me and everything is spot on.

This is basic stuff they do in all Demon Lord Anime the surprising thing is in this they keep it to a minimum and pretty much keep the story on point the whole point.

So basically a generic Demon Lord Anime that is not Isekai and pretty much feels non-generic to me

I seriously don't understand why the other reviews are so low.

If it was an isekai I would understand it a bit more maybe, but it isn't.

I really really enjoyed this show. I'm a complete sucker for overpowered main characters, and this show does it better than so many I've seen before.

There's never the "oh I'm the most powerful being but the bad guy managed to booboo my epsilon so now I'm only at 1% power and can barely fight back".

The first episode has the main dude repeatedly murdering someone and resurrecting them to ... the point of trauma, to get them to surrender, while dropping existential mindfuck bombs on them like "some say when you resurrect you aren't the same person, what do you think?". The way he kills them is by snapping his fingers by the way, making them explode in a splatter of blood - like a tomato left in the microwave too long.

It's definitely not a Steins;Gate ofc, but a thing that ruins a lot of other shows like this is the - for lack of a better word - campiness/low budget feel. This show doesn't have that at all. I went to watch other similar shows, but I could barely stand the first 10 minutes, they felt so B and low quality, pacing was all over the place.

The story while not super good, is still a peg above a lot of other shows I've watched, with an actual conclusive ending, good pacing and sense of scale, some great plot-twists.

Anos as a character is also very nicely written. He is insanely overpowered, and he knows he is. He treats others like ants, because to him that's what they are. An elephant doesn't explain itself to ants. He does take in some ants and nurture them, and he isn't all high and mighty towards anyone.

He just exudes CONFIDENCE, and I think that's difficult to pull off without making the character seem either cocky or like an asshole, but they managed it in this show very well.

Anos is basically so overpowered he defies gods and the basic logic of the world itself, his power being that of destruction in every definition of the word.

This anime also falls into the rare category if anime that rarely "makes fun of itself" - with the exception of a single re-occurring joke. It's hard to explain, but a lot of anime, especially the B cheesy variety, kinda feel like they're a stageplay where all the actors know what's gonna happen, and they are performing all their acting with a tinge of irony? This show doesn't fall into that which is nice.

I thought it was a great watch, even has some really emotional moments, a lot of the plot threads get resolved by the end which is also very rare. If you like overpowered characters then you owe it to yourself to watch it.

The animation quality is also very good, never felt budgety. It uses CGI where it makes sense, it never felt out of place (Mostly for huge fireballs, never for character models).

Something else to point out is that Anos isn't a character that "suddenly" becomes powerful. He was always powerful, he just reincarnated now, and instead of that just being the opener to the show, a lot of the story revolves around the reincarnation of characters, especially the main dude's reincarnation, even why he did it etc. Felt very fleshed out, and not like a cop-out gimmick.

The magic and powers in the show aren't like an "rpg" system that every anime seem to have, with levels and stat points that break the 4th wall. It's good ol' demons and sacred magic. Paladins, necromancy, etc. (tho not called that).

The show doesn't feel rushed with explaining the world. It explores around where it starts, the story doesn't meander and wander further than it can reach, it stays comfortably where it can explain properly, and uses Anos and his vast difference in magical power to explain things and resolve the story.

It almost feels similar to One Punch Man in a way, but with more variety and demonic energy
