-both the protagonist faces prejudice on her way. -Arte is a girl who wants to be a painter in an era where women had no space in Renaissance society while Waratte's Runway is about a beautiful girl who wants to be a model but in the world of models, height matters and the protagonist despite having the measurements certain women do not have the height to be a model. -both don't give up on your dream.

Both shows revolve around making it in the fashion industry. The main female character in both shows is a model and the main male character is a designer. Paradise Kiss does seem to be a bit more mature though.

Both stories are about two high school students working together in unconventional industries to pursue their dreams. Initially the pairs receive opportunities into their industries pretty quickly, but the main bulk of each of the stories are about the characters working their way up to the top. Dreams can seem impossible, but both Runway and Bakuman. show that you should never give up on them.

- Both anime focuses on similar fields: Dancing and designing (Arts) - Shows the obstacles that both main characters must go through before achieving their dream - Has a hint of romance - Both MCs starts off timid and reserved then become passionate and confident

Both are emotional and about the world of fashion. Kuragehime is more mature and cosy while Runway de Waratte is a shonen and has more suspense.

The shows are about the 2 main characters trying to make it in their desired fields. But while trying to make it, they meet a lot of resistance due to different circumstances and people. They do however have a few people close to them, that helps them to achieve their dreams.

Both anime highlights the fact that hard work does not guarantee success. Success has many factor, some including talent, luck. No one is entitled to success, even if they put in their hardest work. Mainstream media portrays a lot of such facade and i just despise them. Anyways, the main point here is that both anime are emotional, and similar in many ways, but both remain unique in their own story. Watch with an open mind, even if u do not have knowledge on fashion design, these are some really tear jerking anime. Enjoy!

Other than the important fact that Akira's and Ikuto's hairstyle is almost totally the same, both shows feature characters who chose unique career paths and they have to work hard for it. They have to stay in constant competition to improve.

Both series follow a strong willed female lead character who refuses to give up on their passion. Also the general layout and feel of both shows is rather similar: shounen-like setup of hardships and nice slice of life moments. Anyways if you are looking for something similar to Chihayafuru, Runway de Waradatte might just be it.

Both animes involve unusual topics (Koto instrument and fashion industry) that aren't mainstream and where most people are simply not interested. However, despite these unusual topics, all the characters from both shows have a passion to achieve their goals against many obstacles. The characters' passion, dedication and enthusiasm draws in the viewers and makes us cheer for them every step of the way. Highly underrated shows in their receptive seasons.

If you like stories that feature girls with a big dream that have a very bumpy road to the top, this might be for you too. With the reality of the road to fame that is covered with failures and hard lessons and the inspiring never-ending energy to chase your goal we can all learn from. The shows feature other themes like discrimination based on class or wealth, talent or luck and try to convey that hard work will always pay off.

While those anime seems to have to be completely different on the surface, both of those titles have protagonists, who are aspiring to be The Best in given field (hero/supermodel) despite lacking the very basic and essential trait or talent. Both main characters are exceptionally stubborn in achieving their goals despite others telling them it's futile.

The strong theme of passion make these two shows to share similar atmosphere. The shows highlight the hardships that the main characters had to face in order for them to achieve their dream. Both shows also involve the world of art. One about fashion, and one about the traditional instrument, Koto.

tldr; both anime features two main character supporting each other realizing their dreams after overcoming obstacles along the way. in shigatsu we were introduced to harima kousei and miyazono kaori who supports him overcome his trauma to become a world-class pianists he is. going through small to big obstacle along the way, harima kousei finally able to make their dream comes true. in rawara we'll be greeted by fujito chiyuki, a short model and tsumura ikuto, a poor designer wannabe. both chiyuki and ikuto gives each other a push so they can both be a world renowned model and designer.
