The series follows pre-teens Dan Kouzo, Shun Kazami, Wynton Styles, Lia Venegas, and their dog Lightning. They are known as the "Awesome Ones" and make videos on the website ViewTube. Eventually, they stumble across a race of battling biomechanical creatures called Bakugan. They soon befriend the Bakugan and begin to battle each other with them, all while defending their neighborhood from thugs who use the Bakugan for malicious purposes.

My brother and I watched this together because he really liked the original show and wanted to check this out. The beginning of this show didn't start out very well. It was slow and none of the characters were very likeable at first. However, starting at episode 14, the story started to get much better and the characters started to really improve. We both thought it got really interesting. Unfortunately, you need to watch through the beginning episodes to understand what's going on and make the character development meaningful. It is also kind of childish at times and you can tell that it is made read more

I remember being so exited to watch this show thinking this will be something i can enjoy while connecting with my younger self but, the show turned out to be a disappointment. All I can say is "I'm glad i grew up with the original". The show just doesn't feel the same and is way too far off from is't predecessor. it has amazing animation and wonderful voice actors but they don't suit the type of character's of the kids in the show. It's hard to be compelled in the story and the narration if I have already seen it before(done better) for me it's read more

The main cast formed a group called "The Awesome Ones". I appreciate their self confidence, but they and their team name were not awesome at all. They were technically just random kids posting their battles in ViewTube. While that's annoying on its own, the main cast were named after some of the main cast of the OG Bakugan which made matters worst and more opportunities to compare. Battle Planet Dan was a typical read more
