Shi Huang Zhi Shen, or God of Deception is a Chinese animation that focuses on a fictional city. After the humanity has run out of the energy resources, 12 new huge cities have been founded. All these cities have a system that is capable of evaluating its citizens' deeds. A high school student Vuminlu, since he lies too much, is cast into the rank of the bad guys. As a result, the system tries to get rid of the irregularity and kill Vuminlu, sending The Punishers of Karma to kill him. However, Vuminlu is saved by an unknown person, who claims to know how to

save him. Will Vuminlu survive the ordeal?
Not Something You Will Usually See
My acquaintanceship with the Chinese animation is not always successful. Most of the time, I end up with a huge disappointment, not this time, however. I did have some mixed feelings about this series, I will not try to deny it, a system that can evaluate its citizens’ deeds, The Punishers of Karma that look somewhat like Hollows from Bleach-- that is pretty much the first impression I formed after watching the first episode. However, after some episodes you understand that it is not just a stupid copypasta, but a unique work. Indeed, the animated series is based on the manhua with the same name, which gives a better insight into the story, but it still makes sense overall and is quite enjoyable.
Animation is Quite Good
It is quite obvious that Shi Huang Zhi Shen does not have the budget to hire ufotable, but the animation is still quite good, nevertheless. Indeed, if you try to carefully observe the characters, you might find some flaws, but this is something you will not find that easily, so it should not be that much of a problem. Another thing worth mentioning is that the series portrays characters’ emotions quite awesome; there are many comedy moments in the series and they are very funny, because of the animation.
Quite Unusual Duo
The series focuses on a high school student Vuminlu, who lies too much and does not care about moral, because all he needs is to earn enough money for him to live in the upper city, where the rich live. He is not afraid to lie and that other people might hate him for his love of money, however, his indifference changes, when he meets a mysterious green haired teenager, who saves Vuminlu from the Karma Beats that are trying to devour him. And that is pretty much it, however, there is one thing that I find important to mention. While the 2 protagonists of the series do look boring at first, they still show some good development; there are many secrets about them that have not been covered so far that are quite interesting, I must say.
Overall
I did see many comments that the manhua does a better job in everything than the animated series. But I still find the TV series quite good, it is not a masterpiece, of course, so do not expect something mind-blowing. The Liar God is more of a comedy than anything else, there is a grain of drama, too. But it is well-balanced and one does not interfere with the other.
