Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop is a movie that refuses to elaborate, whilst also having the nerve to expand itself as to more than what the premise says it is. I usually don't mind simple stories, and sometimes I praise them beyond belief, but it is comparable to a hack if you use something that will eventually be rendered pointless. I am not sure about you, but wasting time isn't something I'd say is a good thing.

The narrative starts off fine, you know, copy stuff from Jun Maeda and make yourself look like some wet market version of Shaft seems to do the trick, ...

Title: Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop - A Visually Stunning Yet Underwhelming Teenage Tale

Rating: 6/10

Introduction:

"Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop" is an aesthetically charming coming-of-age anime that marries vibrant visuals with themes of self-expression and connection. While its unique animation style and heartfelt moments manage to captivate, the overall execution falls short of delivering a truly memorable experience. As an anime enthusiast, I provide a review of "Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop," exploring its strengths and highlighting the aspects that hinder it from reaching its full potential.

Stunning Visual Aesthetic:

One of the immediate standouts of "Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop" is its visually ...

Vibrant colors, heartwarming music, and finding self-confidence.

Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop is not an uncommon romance anime movie to those familiar with the genre. Charmingly formulaic, it is an easy-going watch that will cheer you up if you’re feeling blue. It’s not likely to leave you with a lasting impact, but it’s a brief, pleasant watch—like a cool breeze on a hot summer day.

Cherry is a boy who writes haikus for fun yet has difficulty expressing himself verbally. Smile is a girl with buck teeth and braces concerned about looking cute for her Instagram following. Each of them communicates their personalities through social media; ...

Simplistic doesn’t always mean bad. Take shows like Jujutsu Kaisen and Yuru Camp for example, highly praised anime despite their cliched nature.

In the case of Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop, it feels like a re-telling of the fabled ‘boy-meets-girl’ tale, but it ultimately never stretches beyond the realms of being just okay.

The film tells us the gist really quickly. Cherry is a boy that struggles with communicating and enunciating his thoughts, resorting to writing haikus as a form of catharsis. On the other hand, Smile is a famous idol livestreamer who unfortunately has buck teeth, deciding to wear a mask to cover up what ...

This anime is the definition of mid.

Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop is the most barebones a romantic anime can be. While it features some amazing music lackluster voice acting, horrible animation, and a miserable plot line plagues the movie... and yet I still found myself enjoying it. While it's the most generic love story I've ever seen and appears to be rushed to market, the story holds you in just enough to get you to watch the movie. After seeing the ending I decided I neither loved nor hated the movie, it's just mid.

I am wondering where Netflix outsourced the animation to. This animation ...

This movie has such a weak first act that I almost dropped it around the 30-minute mark. It has a bold, appealing art style and great animation, but the characters made an irritating first impression and the situations felt hollow. A lot of that flashy animation feels wasted. Fortunately it improves somewhat as it goes along, with the characters becoming a bit more sympathetic, though it takes until halfway before the plot gets out of first gear. By the end it reaches a fairly satisfying, if completely by-the-numbers climax.

Perhaps its biggest flaw is baked into its premise, by having smartphones play ...

Story [6/10] : Overall I think the story is alright. Nothing special or outstanding. I think it is most unique with it's incorporation of haiku and the character of Cherry.

Art [7/10] : Decent for the most part. I think the animation can look a little janky sometimes, but I like the vibrant colors and it doesn't look too bad ever.

Sound [5/10] : The dub for this show is kind of awful and can make it hard to pay attention to the story sometimes, so I think it's exactly average. None of the music stood out to me much, except for maybe the final song.

Character [6/10] ...

Words bubble like a soda pop was a decent watch with okay storyline (although it could have been better). The colours were vibrant, although I didn't liked the animation much. Nonetheless, the story was a slow build romance but the emotional content and connection felt a bit lacking among the leads.

There was a story but it didn't dug deep and refused to elaborate to a 100% satisfying ending. The best part was the OST which felt quite unique and stayed well with the movie scenes. Atleast it wasn't like Uchia Hanabi, which was a total dud/disappoinment for me.

Pros :
• Simple yet attractive storyline
• The lead ...

Story: The story about the two main characters is fine; however, the side characters contribute nothing. I lacked to understand their point since I couldn't even recall a single side character's name besides the store owner.

Art: The film is very visually pleasing with the occasional "flash-bang" with it being so brightly colored. I really enjoyed the art style.

Sound: For a movie about music and Haikus it lacked those main details significantly. As someone who writes poems and is trying to get into more music I was very disappointed. The final song was shocking in a bad way to say the least. I thought the ...

"Cider no You ni Kotoba ga Wakiagaru" follows the story of two young people, Yui "Cherry" Sakura and Yuki "Smile" Hoshino, who meet while working together at a welfare facility during the summer. Cherry is passionate about haiku poetry, but his writing goes unnoticed, while Smile is an up-and-coming influencer who hides her smile due to braces on her teeth.

When the two meet, they embark on a mission to help a senile elderly man named Fujiyama find an old vinyl record he owns and wants to listen to before his memories fade completely. They only have the record's sleeve and the word "yamazakura" as ...

"Words bubble up like soda pop". The name of this anime was the first thing that caught my intrigue; I thought the title was absolutely adorable, and I added it to my "to-watch" list on Netflix as soon as I saw it. However, after watching this movie, I can't help but feel a bit disappointed.

The story's concept definitely had potential, in my eyes, to be a cute and touching slice-of-life, coming-to-age love story. And I'm sure it _was_ for some folks; unfortunately, that is not how it was for me. Right off the bat, I couldn't help but feel a disconnect from the characters. Smile's ...

I was browsing Netflix and stumbled upon this cute romance movie. I'm glad I watched it. It was a heart-warming experience.

STORY- 7/10

The plot in this movie is experienced through the two main characters, Cherry and Smile, switching back and forth between their two viewpoints. The story is fairly simple and predictable. If you're not a fan of slice of life or romance, you'll most likely find yourself bored. This story touches on the themes of insecurities and shyness, and promotes the messages of self-love and self-confidence, with romance sprinkled in. Along with the cute friendship and romance, the movie deepens the two character's connection ...

English.
A film that you will love for its animation and for the little love story it has.
You can see the love they put into the animation of the film and that they really made an effort to get the product out, even so the story they tell we have already seen repeatedly in the anime (boy falls in love with girl, girl falls in love as a boy, but although the two are in love, they will not confess to each other until the end of the film).
Even so, it is not the type of film that I like, I think that the story, although ...

Words bubble up like soda pop was such a unique movie on its art-style. The voice acting for the dub was not really good, sub was way better. The music was outstanding of course but pacing wise was a bit too rushed. I did love the idea of others having insecurities. The pacing felt rushed by the ending and middle. The animation was decent and there is really nothing to say but it's okay. The art style and the story didn't really mix in well for a romance and drama though. I will recommend it to people who just want to see it ...

This is my first review so I want to keep it short. For context the boy's nickname is Cherry and the girl's is Smiles.
I expected a lot more from this movie. After reading the summary I thought this would be a cute movie about two teens who both have different insecurities who come to overcome them with the help of each other and in the process developing feelings for one another. What I got instead was a boy who pushed himself to change while the girl made no effort whatsoever. To be fair, overcoming insecurities isn't easy and the boy didn't exactly help her, he ...
