Professional wrestler Genzou Shibata sports the body of a mountain, but beneath his hulking appearance is a man with an extreme affection for animals. Facing off his opponents in the ring as the legendary "Animal Mask," Genzou wins the hearts of crowds everywhere with his iconic tiger persona.
During the bout for the title of World Champion against his greatest rival, the Macadamian Ogre, Genzou is suddenly summoned to a fantasy world by a princess. With her kingdom being threatened by a monster infestation, she pleads the wrestler for assistance—to which he answers by knocking her out with a German suplex! Escaping the castle and finding himself stranded in a mysterious land, Genzou decides to begin his career as a beast hunter to capture and befriend creatures far and wide. Joined by the wolf-girl Shigure, the dragon-girl Hanako, and the vampire Carmilla Vanstein, the professional wrestler pursues all kinds of dangerous requests for the sake of fulfilling his dream as a pet shop owner.
A very funny isekai. It's one to watch for comedy, not plot progression or long shonen fights. The action is fun to watch though since the main character uses pro-wrestling style moves. The action mainly used for comedy. I thought the show would get repetitive but it has kept me engaged so far. It's certainly not generic. The other cast members besides the protagonist are all female but it's not a harem. He isn't interested in them in that way. I also enjoy how the protagonist clashes with most people he meets for outrageous reasons. It reminds me a bit of Konosuba.
This truly is an inventive isekai. This is basically what happens when a furry gets transported to another world. So our mc gets transported into another world in middle of a wrestlig match. Then he proceeds to German Suplex his summoner. This show is quite hilarious all though a bit questionable at times. Mostly in episode 1 so far. This show also features a wolf girl, which is nice since Holo. The story is a bit weird but still morally good. Mc just wants to teach the people that with love they can tame these demon beasts, and he also wants to make a pet
shop. So far its been amazing. It is funny and when there is action it is epic as hell. Do I recommend this? Yes I do.
i hate when an anime keep repeating the same joke every episode unfortunately this is the case with this anime.
to start my review i like to mention that i really like isekai genre and some isekai anime are in my favouirte list ( Konosuba ) .
when i heard Kemono michi is by the same person who did Konosuba i was excited for it but i was dissapionted .
the story is going no where, 5 episodes and still no development in the story it feels more like a slice of life than an isekai .
art is good but nothing out of the ordinary
songs are the weakest point of the show especially the annoying opening now i just avoid the opening every time i watch an episode .
characters are the the strong point of the show beside the annoying animle-lover MC all the other characters are good and interesting especially female characters.
overall the show has some good moments and the characters are all funny except the annoying MC who repeat the same annoying joke in the whole show.
Unpopular opinion coming in here, this show is not good.
This is not an attempt to bash the series, the people who like it or anything, this is purely my perspective and how I feel about this anime.
Kemono Michi is one of legit 15 series I'm watching this season and it's probably among my 3 worst. Why? Well, like Konasuba, Kemono Michi is a series that prides itself on humour, it's not a plot heavy manga or story and is mainly comedy. The thing about comedy is that it is quite subjective, what you find funny, someone else may not. That's unfortunately the case here. I
don't find any of the jokes, actions or scenes to be funny. For a while, I thought maybe I was just missing something, but nope, just not funny to me.
When the humour doesn't connect, the next thing goes to the plot. As I said before, Michi lacks any real plot and trust me when I say the story stays the same throughout the manga. As a result, I had to give this series a 7/10. Reasoning for that score despite it having poor plot and not being funny? 1, the concept of a wrestler being isekai'd is absolutely hilarious, 2 the girl with the grey hair is adorable and 3, I really do appreciate the fact that the same author who wrote Konasuba tried to do something unique here in terms of story, it just did not connect with me personally.
Overall, I think it's a series you should give a watch, it's just something that if you don't connect with, you may struggle to enjoy. I will continue watching as I have never dropped an anime in my life.
