Synopsis

Following the conclusion of the National Middle School Tennis Tournament, 12-year-old tennis prodigy Ryouma Echizen sets out to the United States in order to further improve his tennis skills. While finding his own way to shine in the sport, Ryouma investigates a perplexing development: the circumstances behind his father's retirement from professional tennis.

Known as "Samurai Nanjiro," Ryouma's father Nanjiro is a legendary tennis player whose career abruptly ended after the US Open finals several years prior. Though Ryouma has studied the final match extensively, there are still many gaps in his understanding—gaps that he would only be able to fill by watching the match in person.

As luck would have it, a supernatural phenomenon transports the young prodigy—and his unsuspecting classmate, Sakuno Ryuzaki—back in time to that very event. Although the events that occur before the game seem normal at first glance, the appearance of the mafia soon complicates the mystery behind the retirement. Despite the bad odds, Ryouma must do everything he can to unravel the circumstances and prevent his father's career from ending.

comedic gold. bought it digitally to watch it whenever I get sad. If it wasn't for this movie, I would have never been able to convince my boyfriend to watch the new prince of tennis with me.

I've been a very big fan of the prince of tennis for many years. I listen to the character songs daily, pick up the rhythm game every now and then, and rewatch the show whenever I get sad. It has such a big place in my heart.

Now, this movie is nothing comparable to the series or anything like that, it's just simply fun crazy, and all over the place, ...

Mixed Feelings
Without mincing words, "Ryouma! The Prince Of Tennis Shinsei" is absolute batshit in all the best ways. It was everything I could have ever asked for in a bad movie and if that's what you're looking for too, then get out of this review and go watch the insanity for yourself.
It's difficult to give "Prince of Tennis" a score and write a review because all the "negative" aspects just enhance the experience. Leave all logic at the door, and strap in for a ride.

-Story-
I'll admit I don't know much about the "Prince of Tennis" franchise, but didn't feel too alienated going in. ...
