Both of the main characters meet a goddess who sends them to another world, but the goddess in question is also a useless party member. This in turn leads to rather strange adventures for the main characters of both series.

Both follow a very similar plot: the hero is OP. There is even a fairly similar villain in the anime, though I do have to say I feel that both are kind of mainstream in terms of how far anime goes. If you enjoyed one of these anime, you'll probably enjoy the other one.

Both shows feature very cautious heroes who win through being prepared and not fighting "fair". Goblin Slayer is less OP and there is less comedy, but the serious scenes in Shinchou Yuusha are reminiscent of Goblin Slayer.

Both feature a male hero protagonist who level up and fight monsters in the process. Cautious hero is more of a comedy, where Seiya is overpowered yet naive, whereas Shield Hero has more serious tones as Naofumi is looked down on and works his way up the ranks. The both are hard to open up to. Both of these anime feature the protagonist being transported into a new world (isekai)

Both anime have a particular view of isekai which is full of comedy! They make fun of stuff that is common in isekai worlds getting almost ridiculous (exaggerating things for example) and both have a refreshing way to portray that. If you like any of these anime, then watch the other because you will have the same fun.

Both are MMO-themed fantasy/comedy series that mostly focus their comedy around how ridiculously OP the MC gets, while they play off their outlandish feats as just being normal.

The main character is an unconventional character for the Isekai genre, yet there is also madness behind the overall concepts for both series. As such, for those for whom one series is the cup of tea of may find the other their cup of tea.

-Both are Isekais with op excentric main characters -Both works as parodies of the isekai genre in general -MC's in both animes are summoned by a woman who wants then to do some kind of mission for her, but they don't follow her demands as she wishes. -Both animes are Isekais that doesn't focus so much in action, as is common to the genre, but they focus more on comedy

Both isekai series feature an aggressively overpowered male lead who doesn't really care about saving the world that they were sucked into. Both also have a sexy female sidekick, but the attitudes and roles of Yue (Arifureta) and Ristarte (Cautious Hero) are polar opposite - Yue is a fateful and powerful companion to Hajime, while Seiya's goddess companion Ristarte acts a lot like Aqua of KonoSuba (outside of creating portals, she's pretty useless).

Both of these Isekai rely on out there overall concepts that may not be every potential viewers cup of tea, yet for those looking for series that think outside of the box and have found this in one of the two may find what they're looking for in the other.

Essentric personalities and useless gods but there is more to them than their outward comidic personality. Key Differences: • Noragami is more dark, and focused on world/story building and religion/morality. • Overly cautious is focused on the comedy.

Both are mockery and satire on their respective genre; RPG video games and isekai anime

Both are like a parody to their following genre, cautious hero parodies typical isekai anime and gintama parodies typical shonen anime, and both protagonist even though now powerful were once defeated and lost it all

Same author of Cautious Hero, both shows have the comedy genre which is good since both are made by the same authors.

ok the jokes of hitting the goddess or treating the goddess as baka is the very similar fashion with aho girl. both Mc have the same cold personality
report Recommended by gakuendo
Similar comedy and lewdness, MC is serious and ripped, which makes the whole series enjoyable and amusing.

Domineering male protagonist slowly becomes more powerful over time. There is female sidekick that traverses along with protagonist. Story is about revenge or things done in the past. Both shows need more recognition especially Shinchou Yuusha

It has a dunmachi feeling into it except it's not in a dungeon but getting strong BOTH HAS GOOD ANIMATION, I recommend cautious hero because of very good plot twist/ending

Both are straighforward echii-comedies with a similar "high energy" tone. Shinchou Yuusha has an overarching story and some action elements whereas golden boy is episodic and more focused on the echii&comedy. Both shows are what I would consider an "easy watch" (i.e. something you watch to relax and be entertained), and of high enough quality not to disappoint.

Both shows have similarly comedic tones, and star ridiculously overpowered main characters who fix their worlds. Along the way they collect new friends and have to solve their problems, and eventually deal with a plotline regarding shared history with other main character(s)/setting the past right. I enjoyed both as a light watch, although Cautious Hero manages to pull together more at the end. Both are more dumb fun than anything else.

Both parody the Isekai genre by making their protagonist even more OP then usual. Both aired during the same season.
report Recommended by Will_Bradley
Both are parodies of the Isekai genre and have a cast of wacky and hilarious characters. If you expect a regular Isekai story you'll be disappointed, but if you're ready to laugh at all the silly tropes getting inverted and ridiculed, you're in for a fun ride!

- MCs are called to a new world by a god. - MCs are super smart and overpowered. - MCs almost overthink about everything, always being steps ahead. - Very funny, theres some ecchi, and action.

Both comedies centered around for overpowered male protagonist, who always has nonconformist solutions no matter which surreal arising difficulties he is facing.

Why these two are similar you ask? one is cautious hero, the other one is cautious soldier. simple. the two anime share the same comedy in cautious action.
report Recommended by KinjiKido
Over the top isekai fantasy comedy

"Devil is a part-timer" is also a comedy isekai. In this case, the world is the earth itself but with the devil as the main character and he is overpowered and extremely serious from time to time just like the cautious hero haha.

If you've seen any kind of anime with an OP mc, Shinchou Yuusha will make fun of it. In this magical world that is Shinchou Yuusha, the mc is massively overpowered, but he takes everything with such caution that it makes it hillarious.
report Recommended by Neko_Netti
One is a sports anime, the other is isekai - but they have one important thing in common: Seemingly perfect and overpowered main characters with one "little" obsession that turns everything hilariously upside down. Both the MCs have important things they need to achieve, but no matter what their strange obsessions are top priority in every single situation they end up in - and hilarity ensues. In short, if you enjoyed the comedy in one of them, you'll almost definitely enjoy the other one too!

The main protagonist is extraordinary to a point that he's able to dismiss anything that is a severe threat to anyone with normal capabilities, though the protagonist is seemingly not aware of his insane acts; much to the surprise of bystanders that have appropriate reactions.
report Recommended by Isguros
Isekai Genre where main character is OP and overly cautious. Arguably better execution than Shichou Yuusha.
