Kimetsu no Yaiba

Ever since the death of his father, the burden of supporting the family has fallen upon Tanjirou Kamado's shoulders. Though living impoverished on a remote mountain, the Kamado family are able to enjoy a relatively peaceful and happy life. One day, Tanjirou decides to go down to the local village to make a little money selling charcoal. On his way back, night falls, forcing Tanjirou to take shelter in the house of a strange man, who warns him of the existence of flesh-eating demons that lurk in the woods at night.

When he finally arrives back home the next day, he is met with a horrifying sight—his whole family has been slaughtered. Worse still, the sole survivor is his sister Nezuko, who has been turned into a bloodthirsty demon. Consumed by rage and hatred, Tanjirou swears to avenge his family and stay by his only remaining sibling. Alongside the mysterious group calling themselves the Demon Slayer Corps, Tanjirou will do whatever it takes to slay the demons and protect the remnants of his beloved sister's humanity.

My review refers to all seasons. In my opinion, Demon Slayer is a masterpiece.
From the very first episode, you are captivated by the stunning animation and the intricate design of the characters and landscapes.
The story is emotional and gripping. The fight scenes are visually perfect and impressive. The development of the characters, especially Tanjiro and his sister Nezuko, is profound and touching. You can easily identify with their struggles and hopes.
In summary, Demon Slayer is a 10 out of 10 for me. The combination of beautiful animation, an engaging story, and deep characters makes this anime a must-watch for any anime fan.

Mixed Feelings

Let me start by saying I am not a big fan of Shounen Action Anime to begin with. I don’t have much interest in seeing those long running 100+ episodes shows so back when there was only one season I gave this a shot. I get it, I get why people like it, but in my opinion it’s just painfully repetitive and uninteresting. Ufotable does an incredible job I will never deny that, but as far as the story goes I was far from engaged.

The characters are probably one of the weakest aspects, Tanjiro is cool and all but the other two are just obnoxious. ... The demons are somewhat interesting but they all have the same sob story flashbacks attached to them to try and force me to care about someone who is only on screen for five minutes.

Maybe, but if an anime couldn’t hook me in a 26 episode season than I’m inclined to believe it’s just not gonna be the type of good that I want. Also Nezuko is 12 stop being creeps everyone.

It gets one star for ufotable and another for Kajiura Yuki. It's incomprehensible that anyone would give this poorly-written garbage anything more than that.

If you really, really, reeeeally like battle shonen you are not lacking for choice, watch literally anything else that actually has a plot, or that has characters with more than a single running gag going for each that are trying to annoy you every second of every minute.

Honestly, so much money and high-quality human capital went into this show, it's a shame the source material (ie. the story and writing) are just atrocious to the point of being irredeemable. Maybe ... the studio or some rich patrons were just really, reeeeally big fans of the manga, they may as well have waited a bit and hired some quality writers to give it the FMAB treatment where they condensed the story and presented the gist of it with the talent they had access to.

Then again maybe I am wrong. The production quality is all over the place, one moment you're looking at a beautifully animated shonen powerup scene with quality choreography and beautiful fire/water sfx, and then the next moment you're staring at 10 seconds of some poorly-lit 3d ragdoll model of Tanjiro repeatedly doing backflips with a fixed camera being told "this is a fight scene" and you're just like "what's going on"
