Both have a childhood friend and the other main protagonist as love interests Both main characters parents are not present Both involve flying machines to protect humanity Both involve girls created to fight Both involve main character showing the other how to be a normal human

Both have the same military genre, that involves the Air Force and their air war with flying opponents, while one was set in an alternative future the other one was set in an alternative past.

Similarities: Technologically advanced weaponry of unknown origins threatens the safety of the earth, and the only ones who can fight them are similarly technologically advanced weapons controlled by super AIs that have taken the form of cute girls who have taken a liking/bonded with the protagonist. Differences: One is the air force and the other is the marines.

Both animes that are centered around girls who are also war machines in human forme (ships in Kancolle vs planes in Girly Air Force).

Both anime are about girls driving planes to fight monster. Both have battle scene on sky fighting. They are similar to the another except girly has a male main character but warlords does not has.

The heroines of these series are extremely similar in both their personalities and their outlooks on life. Mikan and Sakura are both elementary-school girls who find their school life difficult because of their crazy classes, especially one troublemaking boy. They succeed in solving their problems using their optimism, never-give-up attittues, and unique skills

Probably the closest anime to Third Aerial Girls Squad we'll get in our boring real world. It's an anime where cute girls fight against aliens in military planes.

Both shows are about quite odd combinations of fighter anime, cute girls, and relationship-focused stories. Hisone to Maso-tan is more moe/SoL though.

Military Themes with cute girls

Girly Airforce uses glimpses of the legendary Itano (Air) Circus. That's the insane speed barrage of missles and dogding dog fighting planes. Ichiro Itano is the man who created this technique in the even more legendary series Macross. For a great dog fighter, watch the OVA Macross Plus. If you like any of the airial combat in Girly Airforce, and a great love story, check out Macross Plus. But don't stop there, watch *all* of the Macross series.

same style an extraterrestrial force invades the earth and Mc has to save mankind. both have good Dogfights (battles between planes) for those who like planes, it is more than recommended to watch
