Godzilla 3: Hoshi wo Kuu Mono

Where should i start?

This movie can't be a better ending to this trilogy.

The story is quite better than the second one.
Let's make it in parts:

Story: It could be better in some parts. The first half of the movie is kinda slow and boring and just after the first 40 minutes the movie starts to get a good pace. Also the movie made you think on the phylosophy of live and how our real enemy not always is those things we fear but the things we are. STORY: 7

Art: Beautiful CGI, i don't usually like the CGI that mimics anime, but this one ... is almost flawless. Face expressions can be improved but they feel good enough to not think you're watching robots instead of humans. ART: 8

Sound: The best part of the movie is the music and sound itself. Quite an improvement over the two last movies. The music expressed the feelings of the characters sometimes better than their faces. And the ending song is just as good as the score. The sound editing is very good too. Sound: 9

Character: Now we can see a real development of the characters, their true motivations and feelings were explored in very good way. Something that in the past two movies was not done. In the first and second movie the characters were like robots trying to be humans, but in this one you can feel the emotions on the characters. Making them to feel alive and making us to real connect with them. Character: 8

Enjoyment: This part is quite subjective, as a movie fan this movie is quite an improvement over the last two, yes, but then, as a Kaiju movie fan, i think the movie could be a lot better. And that is the point: it is supposed to be a Godzilla movie, a Kaiju movie.
And in the end the movie was a real good action-drama movie with some parts of Kaiju appearances and even less kaiju fights. More battle between Godzilla and Ghidorah could be appreciated, and, oh god, Ghidorah didn't make justice to his name. Enjoyment: 7

So as conclusion: a real good movie but if you are a fan of Kaiju movies and battles maybe this movie will let you with a desire for more.

People hating on this series for no big monster fights, well too bad this is not that type movie. Urobuchi who wrote scripts for psycho pass take the scripts for this series so you would expect ideas of dystopia, religion, technology, humanity. You would love the series if you enjoy all kinds of debates about the above topics in a post apocalypse scene, and apparently English translation on netflix is not so good either. It tries to review what religions, technology(rationality) really did to and utilize humanity, questioning the outcome of their prosperity, set up an what if that both(religion become cult)(technology become anti human ... and emotionless, like in terminator and stuff) if not used well would lead to destruction(creates monsters like godzilla, mecha godziilla and so). I really recommend the series to more patient watchers.

This trilogy is different from traditional Godzilla films. And it is not hard to imagine this final work is the most controversial.
However, I enjoyed it as a good GODZILLA film.

This story couldn't be better.
What make Godzilla a monster? What should we do when it is time to be destroyed by the great power of nature, as a result of arrogantly destroys nature and develops civilization? Do you want to leave the hate for something to the next generation, even if it will eventually lead to destroy our peace? No matter how painful we were, spring will come after winter. Do everything you can for the ... happiness of the children of the future.
It's bit phylosophy, but very rich.

The expressions of the characters are smooth and emotional. There is still a sense of incongruity, but I think it's okay even for people who are not good at CG animation. Also, monsters CGI is beautiful. Ghidorah shines like a myth and has a great presence. However, it is a bit disappointing that some battle scenes were recycled.

BGM is pretty good. Takayuki Hattori, who was music composer of Godzilla 2000: Millennium, doing a very good job. Sound effects are enliven the story profoundly. And don't forget the ending theme "live and die". I wish to further success of XAI who sang this song.

The emotions and thoughts of the characters that were hint in the previous two works are revealed. The hero remembers something more important than defeating Godzilla. Hero's friend reveal the true purpose. And twin heroines show a clear difference of feelings for the hero. The drawback, although inevitable, is that everything is concentrated in the hero Haruo. I wanted to see more depictions of characters other than him.

The most problem of this movie is visual. The story is phylosophy and very interesting, but it reduces the visual enjoyment. There are monster fight scenes of course, but it is slowly and quiet. The monsters do not show a clear whole body, except Godzilla. If you want to watch a speedy monster fight, go to see King of the Monsters. If you want to immerse in the story, it is enough.

Again, this trilogy is different from traditional Godzilla films. It is a Godzilla movie that emphasizes the story, not the visual, and your evaluation will change depending on whether the story fits.
It is up to you what you feel and think from the decision of the hero. Some people should dislike it very much. And, I came to love this trilogy by his decision.

This movie was great. A lot people clearly wanted a movie of pure fights with no reason . This movie is almost the opposite.
The animation is really good. A fine combination between traiditional animation and 3D. The story is perfect , every scene and dialogue shows what the writter of Psycho-Pass wants you to think about. Every character and dialogue works towards the meaning and purpose of the movie.Making them complex with no reason or meaning would have been a mistake. Thankfully everythign works perfectly. This is more dedicated to the original japanese godzilla lore movies and culture rather than the pretty bad americans adaptations ... so I would suggest if you want something like that better not try these movies. Overall a pretty good movie and trilogy.
