I'd say this is the girl version of Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou.
If you liked the childish, unique, highschool, growing teenagers sense of humor of Danshi Koukousei you're definetly gonna love this one.
I'm very picky with comedy anime but... these two have really a similar kind of comedy which i enjoy a lot. And they're both mainly about the school life of a main trio! One which is at a all girls middle school and another at a all boys high school.
- 3 students who always fools around
- Relaxing and Smooth OP but the Anime itself is full of humors
- 3 boys in Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou and 3 girls on Asobi Asobase
- It's a School with comedy and slice of life
Both feature a trio squad lead except in Asobi it's middle school girls and Nichibros is high school boys.
Both feature surreal comic styles with going overboard while retaining a certain level of laid-back atmosphere.
They also have a similar art style, execution and each has their own unique yet amazing OST
The episodes in both are split into short parts.
Basically if you liked one of them, you are almost definitely going to like the other.
Asobi Asobase is Nichijou's crude cousin. Very similar in how unexpected the gags and jokes are. They come at you at breakneck speed, but never fail to be so hilarious it leaves you in hysterics. The punches land and they're nonstop, whenever you think you are safe for another moment, another comes.
If you compare Nichijou with Asobi Asobase, they both have many similarities such as:
-Both take place in high school
-3 female main characters
-Over exaggerating face reactions
-Great OP and ED songs
Most importantly, both are great anime for comedy fans or those who want to laugh a lot.
The styles of comedy in each of these are very similar in the sense that they're quite bizarre and silly. They also have similar settings and premises.
Plastic Nee-san is rather short (has 12 2-minute episodes), so Asobi Asobase is a great choice if one is looking for something very similar but more substantial in terms of quantity, although -ignoring quantity- Plastic Nee-san's jokes may be a tiny bit more humorous overall.
Both basically are about high school girl daily life with over the top comedy scenes. Chio chan is more about mc using her pc gaming knowledge to solve wacky problem she is facing, while Asobi asobase is more about trio girls playing traditional games in sadomasochistic's way
Both series are comedies about the funny life of a group of girls' who are often considered to be strange guys at school.
Chio-chan and three girls in "Asobi Asobase" are all game lovers. You can see a lot of netas about games in both series.
-Three girls doing crazy things
-Many of the personalities are alike
I think the first two episodes will remind you a lot the feeling that Asobi Asobase gives. So if you have finished watching it and want more like AA you should try this one.
It's crazy that both shows were aired in the same season. And by the looks of it, Chio-san got the short straw but only in mass-recognition. Both animes are about funny friendship of flawed but adorable people in wild and original situations.
The same feeling and same interaction between the three girls and the wacky situations they make themselves in is the same. There are more characters in Muduzaki than in Asobi.
The art and animation are quite different. Asobi is better (in my opinion).
Both anime feature wild "What the fuck?" humour that doesn't make sense. Pretty much nonstop gags with "ugly" drawings periodically for effect. Asobi Asobase is more demure (they aren't in swim suits) but it's rougher more aggressive humour.
Hilarious slice-of-life comedies about a club which exists solely for its members to slack off, as they take place in an all-girls academy there is heavy girls love undertones, albeit more heavy handed in Yuru Yuri. Both are incredibly high quality in comedic delivery and have similar character types, some of the best in the CGDCT genre and firmly stand tall among them.
Yuru Yuri and Asobi Asobase are about groups of girls having fun. If you enjoy cute anime girls doing funny things and being friends, these 2 anime are perfect for you! Yuru Yuri has a bigger set of characters and has much more romance/fan service than Asobi Asobase. When the 2 anime ended, it left me sad because both series give me an overwhelming feeling of happiness.
The adorable characters, hilarious scenes, fantastic character relationships and the overall simplicity yet fun concept of the 2 anime.
Just watch the 2 series, I love them both
It has a very surreal, bizarre, sense of humor, much like that of Asobi Asobase. It also happens to take place in a classroom setting. Although, Zetsubou Sensei is a *very much* a dark comedy, and has a bit of satire thrown in.
Both series have similar antics involving a group of school friends who play games and go through their day-to-day life with one another. Also, they both include a foreigner girl who is trying to hide how nationalized to Japan she is. While Asobi Asobase is considerably less cutesy and has a raunchier sense of humor, both can be enjoyed by anyone who likes watching a group of friends have fun with one another.
Both series are episodic and revolve around a very loose plot. Here are some common, and best qualities of the two shows: Ugly-cute gag (applies to both characteristics and situational), light-hearted, and silly.
If you've seen Asobi Asobase and would like to see the roots of "true" slice of life comedy, check out Azumanga Daioh. If Azumanga Daioh was a long-time favorite of yours and you'd like to see what slice of life comedy has become, watch Asobi Asobase.
While Asobi Asobase is a bit more bonkers at times and definitely more crass than Azumanga Daioh, both share a similar feel in comedic timing. The girls in Asobi Asobase are also much more often simply horrible people compared to the generally "good girls" of Azumanga Daioh.
The plot is that there is no plot. Lucky Star and Asobi Asobase are exactly carbon copies with each other with ther nonsensical comedy and cute girls doings way too many random things.
Also, both have the chaotical girl (Konata and Olivia), the well endowed glasses girl (Miyuki and Kasumi) and the twin-tailed girl (Kagami and Hanako). At the end of each episodes, there's a somehow comedy number.
Both are slightly absurdist comedies which incorporate or parody other popular genres (ZLS Idol/Horror and Asobi Slice of Life), both starring cute girls. If you enjoy the style of comedy in ZLS, Asobi Asobase is for you.
Similarities; Both has over-the-top humour(with a side of overly detailed reaction faces), funny trio with their own quirky personalities, and just enough sexual innuendos to make you laugh like an idiot!
Differences; Gintama is more action shonen oriented, with some serious dramatic moments in a sci-fi setting, while Asobi is more lighthearted and takes place in high school.
Character-wise, Hanako (Asobi Asobase) pretty much has the same aura or genki-level as Tenma (School Rumble) has. Both pretty much has the comedy in them.
(and with hair fall-down, Hanako kinda looks like her, too)
in my opinion both have a similiar comedy taste
even tho Gaikotsu Shotein takes place at a book shop while Asobi takes place at school
both of them talks about daily life moments that ocurr in a funny and exaggerated way what makes impossible not to laugh while watching them
if you want to have a good time while watching anime i recommend one of these
Both are absurdist, surreal comedies featuring a unisex cast in a school setting. I like to imagine Asobi Asobase personified as Cromartie High's little punk sister. Asobi Asobase tends to prefers high energy humor while Cromartie High, which is by no means slow paced, will occasionally play the long game with their jokes. Visual humor is prominent in both shows, with particular emphasis placed on absurd facial expressions.
Side Note: If you do plan on watching Cromartie High School, I would highly, HIGHLY, recommend the english dub. I don't think Asobi Asobase has or will get an english dub, but that doesn't matter as the Japanese voice acting is amazing. Cromartie High School on the other hand just happens to be a freak case where the english dub surpassed the original Japanese VA's work. read more
They are both firstly Hilarious!
We see the funny interactions of theses characters mostly in school and around. The character interactions being the selling point, it is easy to get lost in both of them and just find yourself smiling and giggling uncontrollably. Along with the humour comes a touch of heart most people are sure to appreciate.
Saiki K being better in every way other than cuteness.
They are both great gag comedies. while ones focus is cute girls, while the other involves an all powerful psychic and his friends. Both involve reaction faces and hilarious jokes.
