Have you ever thought that life is only for dating?
The story begins with a jerk young man who likes cheating when he already has a girlfriend but still wants to look for another named Shidou Itsuka, but jokes. It's back at the beginning Shidou has a mission to date some girls ... but the date he's not dating is normal. this danger is to hasten the spirit that disturbs the earth. This series now has three different studios set in series (Date A Live is sometimes cheating) in my opinion the adaptation of the third series is not much different from the previous series, I
conclude that in this series already there is no special anymore. But I appreciate that they are determined to take the risk of making this series.
From the sound quality and character I like the voice part most why because they are very suitable in their respective roles. In this series there are many types or types of characters ranging from "tsundere" to "yandere" but the most awaited and desirable if it's not "Tokisaki Kurumi", this one character is somehow a favorite of many people rather than playing heroin alone (Tohka).
The art of JC. Staff did not seem to be anything special but they were pretty good and they were half-hearted in the advanced adaptation series. In this season Date A Live III had almost the same graphic design compared to previous series, but it was not a big problem, it was covered up with the harem theme which made all the audience jealous of the main character's situation. Overall I really enjoyed the advanced series of Date A Live, and I hope JC.Staff provides a work that can be developed in the future.
This is by far the worst season of Date a Live. I can't believe I am wasting my first review on this garbage, but I have to put it out there as this is sadly probably the worst season of any anime I've ever seen in my personal opinion. You may not agree with me in this review, and I do not want to soil anybody's feelings of the show, so be warned that you may not like me trash talking this show. Proceed with an open mind please.
I was relatively a fan of the first season of
Date a Live and the OVA that pursued it is still one of my favorite OVAs ever. However, with time the worth of this anime has decreased along with its production value and everything that goes along with it.
Date a Live has always been extremely generic. However, it is when it continues to be the exact same thing over and over again, even getting worse as it continues to be created, that it starts to really get on my nerves. If you didn't like the previous seasons, then I guarantee you will not like this season. Absolutely nothing is different and the animation is the worst it's ever been. With production value greatly rising across the board for most anime in the wake of 2019, this has been an extreme disappointment. The 5th episode uses STILL FRAMES most of the time in a scene which is supposed to be the climax of Natsumi's arc. I find that absolutely atrocious considering the previous seasons at least had decent animation. Enough rambling, lets get into the explanations.
Speaking of short comings, the story is nothing different than the previous 2 seasons. This time with another tsundere loli to add to things. It focuses on a spirit who has an issue with her outward appearance but eventually everyone accepts her and she ends up falling in love with Shido. This happens with every single girl that is introduced in this show so I don't even want to waste my time continuing to speak about this.
In the beginning of this season I wasn't very bothered with the art and animation as it seemed exactly like the first 2 seasons. The first 2 seasons' animation was absolutely nothing special, but at least it was average. After the 5th episode however, it is safe to say that this might be the most poorly animated fully produced show of 2019. With animation that has been fairly great so far this Winter season, I was absolutely disappointed when I saw still frames for most of the episode which is supposed to see the climax. I couldn't help but notice how little effort was put into the animation. Still frames usually don't bother me if they are used correctly. For example, Shield Hero uses them in situations where it isn't important to the story and it's just showing the characters enjoying there time. This however, used still frames within the fight scene, transformation scene, points of distress, and many other moments. I find that somewhat inexcusable for a show that has been going on for a while.
The soundtrack doesn't stand out to me at all. The opening and endings are mediocre at best, and it isn't like I was expecting much out of it anyway considering the last 2 seasons were nothing special either. I never notice any of the OSTs playing in the background like I do with most shows, so I believe it is fair to say that the sound is only decent.
This is only focused on Natsumi's character, as we already know all of the other characters. She isn't a good character. You may say that she is representing a person that feels ashamed of their body, but they do not represent it well. One show that does this well would be LLENN from SAO:GGO. LLENN had the same type of feeling, just the other way around, and they explained why she had her height complex and how people treated her because of it. Date a Live didn't do that. They made her character completely unbelievable and only for plot intensive purposes. There is nothing that makes Natsumi special, and it seems that they are running out of tropes considering this is the 2nd tsundere loli introduced now.
At first I was fine with this show. Then as I continued to watch the episodes, it started to become a chore. I never drop any shows and I'm not gonna drop this either. I don't like dropping shows and I feel that I never will because I feel that sometimes some episodes can come around and you'll enjoy the shit out of it, no matter what the show. So although I haven't enjoyed this season much at all, I'm going to continue watching and just hope that there is an episode that is actually worth it.
This might be my least favorite season of any show I've ever seen, but of course I'm going to keep watching. I don't want to give up on this show as I have watched everything this show has to offer up to this point, but I just can't find a reason to like this season what-so-ever. This season has been honestly really garbage and I just cannot find an appeal to it. I hope that this series doesn't continue after this season because it has only gotten worse and worse. You may not feel the same, but that is just my opinion. No matter what, I'm going to continue watching, but I just hope it doesn't continue to take a lot of effort just to watch 1 episode a week like it does right now.
First thing first I never give numeral scores and instead just categorized anime series I have watched to either masterpiece, enjoyable, not enjoyable, finished and regret, dropped.
I put DaL III in enjoyable category.
Remember there're objective "features" but there're no objective review in my "world" because we're human we always bias. So why the nonsense? I actually enjoy this show quite much, this is no Busou Shoujo no whatever-the-f-is-that nor Seiken Tsukai nor Seirei Tsukai and not (insert your fanservice focused harem here). The concept is original and unique(maybe;read=for me) ,characters are likeable ,the VA's simply matched.
I mean we get this being called Spirit that manifest as a girl, has
super natural power, has their own outfits which is cute, has their own weapons(they call it Angel) and fighting, they even has something called "inverse" to make things more interesting. And all of that would really be amazing if this show has actually good animation wrap it. The first season simply has amazing animation but then it just got worse in second season and worse in third season. J.C just butchered this third season by bad and half-hearted animation(slideshow?), no they just like make this simply for those tv slot and merchandise purpose. I mean where those ice that Yoshino used and those purple light which Tooka's dominant color, where the amazing transformation sequence in first season go.
So if people ask me whether to watch this or no?My answer is yes if you have watched previous seasons which is a must to get the story and whats actually going on and while you at it you can see for yourself how the animation got worse over time. Otherwise no watch other show.
Since to write a review giving numeral scores is mandatory in mal, I'll just assume this
-finished and regret=5
Why no 0 and 10? Well 0 is just trash where 10 is just overrated in my casexD
